What guests think

At Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Vernon by IHG, guests report a mixed stay, with ongoing renovations and a dated feel in places, limited parking during construction, and cleanliness concerns—especially around the pool and hot tub—tempering otherwise positive impressions.

Rooms are often spacious with comfortable beds, but guests report maintenance quirks and some noise from halls or neighboring rooms. Service is frequently friendly and accommodating, though a few reviews cite slow or unhelpful follow-up. The included breakfast earns regular praise for variety, but seating can be tight and items occasionally run out. Overall, it’s a practical stop for short stays.

The pool looked like a bio hazard. Hot tub was green and pool was so murkey you couldnt see the bottom. Smelled like a 711 old dirty mop bucket. For 200 a night could of stayed somewhere much much nicer. The econo lodge for 70 a night has a much cleaner pool. Will not return to a holiday Inn if this was the standard

Property in under renovation, parking lot is full of storage containers and equipment so they didn’t have enough parking for guests and I like many had to park on an unlighted side street. Room toilet didn’t work, drywall above shower was patched, and outside of our ground floor room widow were 2 used / old removed toilets sitting on the grass.

I stayed once prior for work and I was pleased with my experience. I thought I would make this a reoccurring place. This stay was frustrating… despite room being dated with a cracked sink and broken tub drain, the shower had hair in it, and I had to park on the street which caused a bit of a safety concern. The bed was comfortable, the front desk was professional. I genuinely wondered if I was given a poor suite bc I went through a secondary source such as Expedia.

Sadly I was really disappointed as my experience with HIE has always been good. No where on Expedia did it say the hotel was under renovation, with building supplies littered throughout the hotel, in corridors, mattresses on stairs and in the corner of the swimming pool. worst of all I found a circular saw left unattended by a plug and completely open for kids to find! I reported it to reception! Pretty disgusted all around. The breakfast was not pleasant with rubbery food and the hotel has made zero attempt to be environmentally friendly with eye watering amount of waste. I will say our room was comfortable, so ultimately that is important! Oh and the wifi didn’t work!!!

Rooms were assigned on the third floor even though rooms were under construction and hallways were filled with equipment, beds, etc. The hallway was dirty and barely passable. Rooms had electrical problems and friends had to change room 3 times. One guest on oxygen and had to plug in to use his oxygen equipment. Front clerk desk not helpful. Did not even check to see if we could get a room closer to our friends and due to multiple room changes a chair from one room was moved to another. The next day I asked the front desk clerk to have the chair returned to the original room. She responded that she would take care of that right away. Several hours later I asked one of the cleaners if I could get the chair and she took me to the room so I could return it. Finally, the parking lot was full on our return from a wedding reception due to multiple containers used for the renovation taking up parking spaces and a large bus that seemed to be used for storage? Both disabled parking passes were full.

This hotel is very convenient to Silverstar where we went skiing as it's on the main road that leads to the mountain. The surrounding area is very industrial and not nice at all to go for a walk. The hotel was clean and the staff were good, especially the woman who keeps the breakfast area clean and well stocked. The pool area is small and dated but still was good foe small kids to have fun. We would stay here again. Appreciate that it's dog friendly and close to amenities.
