What guests think

Across many reviews, Royal Hotel Regina, Trademark Collection by Wyndham is praised for very clean, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, good value, and an exceptional complimentary breakfast with ample variety, including gluten‑free options, in a convenient south‑Regina location.

Many also note easy access to restaurants, shopping, and the airport. Common drawbacks include an older, somewhat dated property with occasional maintenance issues (door locks, HVAC, lighting), inconsistent housekeeping, and periodic key‑card or billing hassles. Parking can be tight, the small gym is limited, and a few reviews report pests or noise. Expect a solid, good‑value stay centered on cleanliness, service, and a standout breakfast.

Rooms were good but hallways and common area need an update. Elevator broke down while we were there and didn’t get repaired probably due to it being a long weekend.

Room was clean, but installations are aging (toilet paper roll holder falling from wall, scuffs and paint missing in areas of room, stained chair). Friendly and helpful staff. Lots of restaurants the area. The fitness room was a joke: 3 cardio machines and 7 dumbells ranging from 3 to 15 lbs, with minimal room to move around.

Location is great/easy to get to. They advertised a restaurant and lounge but it closed during Covid-yet signage outside building and website listing still in place. The staff was very nice and efficient. The room could’ve been cleaned better. The baseboards were kinda gross and room corners dark and fuzzy. A little more attention to detail would sharply increase my review.

The property itself if showing signs of age. The fitness room is pretty tiny and extremely limited in its offering; one set of light dumbbells, another single dumbbell, elliptical, treadmill and bike. Was not room for 2 of us to utilize/share equipment easily. Room itself was clean, comfortable and had more recent updates.

The parking is super tight and we had to park in the mall parking but the staff assured us this was fine. Hotel was great and lots of dining options close by within walking distance.

We had the suite with King bed. It was a huge space, bed was very comfy, front desk staff was extremely nice and friendly. The gym was a bit tiny, with one bike, one treadmill, one other, and very light weight weights. Breakfast had a large selection but the bread, toast, waffles were out of bags and on the dry side. A waffle machine would have been nice.

It was surprisingly clean and comfortable. They reserved a taxi for me for early morning to transport me to the airport. They do not have a shuttle. It is about 10 minutes from hotel to airport, cost is close to $20 Canadian. I saw only one elevator on my floor. My room was close to the only elevator that I saw. Maybe there was one at the other end of the hallway. I’d stay there again. Lots of close restaurants.

Hotel is too old and needs renovation. We checked in late at night and rooms from the 4th floor were given to us but elevator was out of order and we have luggage to carry. Ended up having a room on the 2nd floor and had no choice but to carry 6 luggages. Room haa cockroach and sinks were clogged including the tub.

Overall it was a decent experience at this hotel. There were a few bumps along the way. I had reserved rooms on Expedia - 4 adults total in 2 rooms and had the confirmation re same. However they only had 1 room reserved for me in their system. They were able to give me a second room but it took quite a while for them to sort it out in their system. This made for a long a slow check in process. When I checked out, they had me in the system as having 3 rooms!!!! I’m not quite sure what was going on there but I was only charged for 2 rooms so all good in the end. The room itself was quite nice and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was pretty mediocre. A tile missing behind the door, loose trim on the shower grab bar, and a pretty sub-par tile job on the shower walls. The door locks were also quite troublesome. On both our rooms, the door would unlock but you had to give it a hard shoulder check to open the door!!! Overall, not too bad, but definitely not 5 stars!

We were happy here and would definitely stay again. Friends lived a five minute drive away and this location worked well for us. The bedding was crisp and clean and the mattress comfortable. The breakfast room was nice and big and clean. The food selection was very good and generous. Breakfast is served 6:00-10:00 am. Air conditioning was VERY loud. Bring earplugs.

We found our room to be clean and updated. The bed had an excellent mattress. There was a wall mounted thermostat that worked both efficiently and effortlessly. It was not a problem for us, but I did think it was a little strange that there were USB Ports to charge personal electronics. Most hotels offer a complimentary breakfast. So does this one, but the overall selection of food items is much better than most other hotels offer.

The only person that spoke or smiled and was polite was the person who registered /checked me into hotel. Nobody else on staff either knows how to smile or say hello or even acknowledge your existence. . In other hotels you are greeted acknowledged by check in staff at front desk as you are going to breakfast. No greetings at this hotel. All I got was a stare down by both front desk persons and the uniformed security guard.

Stayed two nights and asked to have the room refreshed for the second night. Housekeeping did not come. I requested from the front desk staff assistance to contact them at 4:00PM. Nothing happened. Ended up get more towels at 9:00PM when we got back to the hotel for the second night. Spoke to the front desk the next morning and they said they would have the manager call. No calls from anyone. Basically brutal service - we will not be back.
