What guests think

At Seven Oaks Hotel Regina, reviews describe a family-focused property with a popular pool and waterslide, ongoing renovations, and very mixed experiences that range from clean, updated rooms and friendly staff to dated areas and maintenance disruptions.

Many guests flag inconsistent cleanliness, especially stained hallway carpets, occasional odors, and reports of pests. Room quality varies: some newly renovated and comfortable, others noisy or hard to cool, with small bathrooms and thin walls, particularly in poolside locations. Location is convenient for downtown and events, but several reviews mention a rough-feeling area, loitering in the parking lot, and occasional train noise. Expect a family-oriented stay centered on the pool; check renovation status and your room type.

Staff was absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately at about 3am a screaming match started in the hallway outside our rooms. It was serious enough that the police were called. Unsettling for the kids and it went on for quite some time. Rooms are really nice. Hallways were pretty run down with some old 70’s looking carpet. Pool was wonderful and the kids had a blast in it and the waterslide.

This property is undergoing what appears to be a slow renovation. Portions of the main floor are under construction. The floors above the main are abhorrent. They are rundown and dirty to a degree that is near post-apocalyptic. The renovated rooms on the main floor are nice - similar to what you would expect from a mid-tier hotel. The pool area is wonderful, but could use a refresh. Outside there were a lot of people under the influence. My car’s security camera caught at least three people checking out my car for stuff to steal. They do have free EV charging (Tesla and CCS2 - 2 stalls - Level 2 48Amp) which was great. This will be a great property once fully renovated and if they can get someone to chase off the problem-makers in the parking lot. I suggest asking the state of renovations and what amenities are available before booking.

The pool area is handled like a prison. We had brought water bottles to fill up with the water station and had to place them to the side on the main pool lady’s desk/towel area and couldn’t leave them at our table. I would never stay here again. The side is awesome. It’s unfortunate. The pool was also shocked and closed down during peak hours twice for 30mins. There was no “incidents”. No reason they can’t have the

Booked here because they used to have a good water park for the kids. Only AFTER booking and paying were we told the waterpark is under renovations... The whole hotel is dirty and all the carpets and chairs in the rooms are stained with only god knows what...dirty people hanging at the "pub" in the hotel and they linger around the front entrance and just grease the place up even more. Not recommended.

It has great potential to be a fantastic hotel.. I understand they are in the middle of a major upgrade. I'm looking forward to checking out how it looks in a year or so. The neighborhood is a bit rough. Druggies tweaking in parking lot at night. Main door doesn't lock. No security. 1 older man and the front desk clerk there to monitor any of those tweakers not coming inside. The gym was rough. Equipment is broken, but left there.. which could be dangerous.

The hotel room-room 306 had blood all over the wall and floor as well as a square taken out of the carpet where there was something else. There were pills in the hotel hallway on the floor. Do not stay here. It was myself my son and another mom and her son. Both our minors were in the room with blood, we did not notice until we were packing up and had to move the table and chairs. When we notified front staff they could care less, we were offered 100$ off our stay. Now we have to go home and get tested to make sure we did not catch anything I'm mortified.

This was our 1st trip as a family of 3 with a baby under 1 year old. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. We didn’t realize our room had no bath so showering with an infant was interesting. The pool area was fun. We also didn’t realize that they looked our door that led out to the pool… which I understand you don’t want people using the pool before the time but that info would have been nice to know ahead of time. Overall a good stay!

The GSA who checked us in (Jersey) was friendly however, the NA who was working nights was absurdly rude. We came down last night around 2 am to have a smoke, in the meantime our pizza delivery came as well and we asked the NA if we can leave our pizza at the front while we have a smoke outside as we didn’t want our pizza to be cold if we take it outside. She not only behaved impolitely but also stating some kind of hotel policy about not keeping the food at the lobby, like seriously? Never have I ever heard certain policies like that in any hotel.

Going thru major renovations… rain was coming in through the roof all over the lobby. Floors were soaked. Pool & restaurant were closed due to the damage/renos. We had to be moved rooms as ours was flooding from the window area all over the curtains and floor. Room we were moved to had a TV that didn’t work for casting or Netflix or anything expect YouTube. We did call to have the tv fixed but our concerns were dismissed. The employee just said “yeah it doesn’t work sometimes. Even the cable.” But our original flooded room tv did work and have Netflix. Wifi wasn’t working. Had to use hot spot and an iPad to watch tv. The space wasn’t super clean. Original room had hair in the shower (we had not used it yet.) Room we were moved too was at least fully clean. I would not recommend this hotel until renovations are done… it was a chaotic stay. The area the hotel is located in is loud. Our window was closed but we were woken up multiple times due to loud popping sounds. Sirens. Yelling. Etc. We did bring our concerns to the attention of front desk staff and felt they were defensive and dismissive. I hate being the person who complains. I’ve never left a negative review but the experience was stressful and frustrating. Especially for the lack of amenities & obvious damage to the building.

I said to my family “I’m glad we stayed here. Now we know we never need to come back.” The hotel was under construction (which I hadn’t been told) the area around the place was dirty and not from construction, there were shoeless, shirtless (what looked like homeless) people running in and out of the building at all hours, the pool/waterslide area was incredibly loud with music blaring, no supervision so kids were walking up the slide backwards, the side entrance areas were full of debris and dirt, we went to the Corner Pub inside the hotel and the woman who served us was not very knowledgeable about what they served and looked like she’d rather be ANYWHERE else but there. On the positive side - the beds were clean (not comfortable however, soft and shaky) and the staff was friendly and efficient.

Hotel smelled old and gross. Bugs in shower and on floor. Nothing like baseboards have been cleaned in a very long time. We got a pool access room thinking it would be fun and easy with the kids. Our room was tucked in the corner right near a door to the main area that slammed constantly throughout the night. The pool was open until ten and loud due to music and very rude people using the facilities. The pool is why we booked here but the pictures are better than what is in actuality. The pool had so many people in it, who did not consider anyone. The stairs to the waterslide were gross. The restaurant at the hotel was basic. My husband found a hair in his salsa. I usually only leave five star reviews but wouldn’t want a family to waste their money on it.
