Front staff were excellent. Issue is the elevators way too confusing with no proper markings on what elevator takes you where. This is the single biggest issue for this hotel. My room was on 58th floor but none of the elevators shows that it shows yiu gave to take R3. The reception guy didn’t explain it. Cleaning the room is another issue. Cleaning staff showed up at 7:30 PM to clean my room. No other hotel does that I turned them back. I was out all day and the last thing I want is to leave my room so that the clean it.

The hotel was lovely. The staff always helpful. Its in the clock tower but that doesnt mean you are right next to the haram. You need to take two lifts (not too much trouble) then walk through the shopping mall. Plus points and negatives to that. Breakfast was as expected and the fact that other hotels don't offer this at the same price means its a win win.

Best property for location, literally connected to the haram and puts you directly in front of the bab as sallam gate. Excellent staff and eccellentbfood offerings. Only issue is it is so big you have to catch three different elevators to get anywhere. Easily can waste 20 minutes just going back up to room and back down if forget anything. Room to haram time and distance is very cumbersome because of multiple sets of elevators you have to take.

The property states it is in walking distance to the Kaaba but that is not true. Staying on floor 28, you have to take two sets of elevators to get to the mall lobby so you can walk to the Masjid al-Haram. Just leaving your room and navigating/waiting for the elevators already takes 10minutes or more. Then the crowds at the mall can also take up your time in being able to efficiently exit. It can take up to 15 to 20mins to reach the Masjid al-Haram with all of these steps. Our room was OK, nothing really 5 star about it. The shower drain in room 1823 was terrible and kept flooding. We had to keep asking the service desk to send us extra floor mats or come clean the water since it was unsafe and slippery. The room feels dated and could definitely be enhanced. There was unfinished woodwork in the bathroom to the clogging shower drain to poor flush of the toilet. The room is also a triangle type of shape so there isnt much walking space. Paying for a "5-star hotel" that boasts being the closest hotel to the Masjid al-Haram and Kaaba with a high price point, I would definitely look into staying at another property on my next trip.

The place is falling apart, there are many elevators but no more than half are working at one time, you can clearly see the wear/tear inside, no maintainace at all. It can take 20-25 minutes just to get from the room to the haram. The staff at the reception is not polite, rude and has a demeaning behavior with the guest until I raised my concern with the duty manager who was helpful. It shouldnt take asking for a duty manager everytime. unlike many other hotels I'ves stayed at, they are not flexible at all with checkout timing, no later than 1PM even asking for 1hr was too much. I've see many other 5 star and higher hotels try to accomdate. If it wasnt' for the location of how close it is to the Masjid Al-Haram I would look elsewhere, there are many other options just as close. Restaraunt and cleaning staff are great, kind and helpful.

Fairmont hotels dropped the ball at this location. Upon entering the room there was a weird smell. The bathroom smelled disgusting. I don’t know it was due to lack of cleanliness or the building has a huge plumbing problems.l which I think it’s the latter. Once we told the front desk they immediately sent people over and they sprayed stuff and odor was gone. The service people were trying their best. So no complaints about them. Overall the integrity of that very tall building was my concern. The room smelled moldy which was weird as it’s a desert, it’s not like humidity is an issue. Then we observed plumbing problems here and there. Other than that of course the location is not beatable and that’s the reason we stayed there. Three stars are for the service people and the location

This was the worst stay at a Fairmont property. The shower was scalding hot as the mixer was not working. The AC fan blower kept on incessantly making noise the 4 hours we had available to sleep. There was a Jack hammer being operated at night somewhere in the building and you could hear the racket in the room. The bathroom vanity was missing a fixture. The shower drain was also clogged. The room was poorly maintained as well.

Bathroom especially the tub had mold around. Bed sheets was not the right size like a full size top sheet (no fitted sheet) on a king size bed. I just stayed over night like 13 hrs only. But it was very convenient location. It’s in the haram already. You don’t need any transportation.

The room were absolutely disgusting, they all smelled like cigarettes, the rugs in the room were nasty and very dirty. Our experience with our kids with the Fairmont was not good, the check in staff and the manager was very rude. They had a power outage for 4 hours in the middle of the night the day we landed and had planned to do Umrah. The staff knew about it but didn’t mention it at the time of check in however dropped of a flyer 15 mins after check in stating that it’s a maintenance issue and had to be done. We stayed here last year as well and our experience was very different but this time I would say that I would never stay here again. There are plenty of hotels in the clock tower which are much nicer and cleaner and will provide better service than Fairmont. They prefer Saudi’s over any other nationality. We had a Kaaba view but all we could see is the top of the Kaaba. Never again!

When I checked in I was given a very small corner room with three beds tightly packed next to each other with no space between beds to pass through. No night stands were next to any beds. It felt like sardines stacked there. I had a for booking for three adults. I went back to the check in desk and the deputy manager changed the room to an adjacent room that had more space and furniture. I don’t know why the first employee didn’t check us in the room we booked originally since it was available. Also the first room bathroom was smelling like cigarettes although it’s a smoke free property. Additionally we asked for a white flat sheet to use under the fleece blanket they gave us for the extra bed or an extra comforter. They kept bringing a wrong item (another fleece blanket). I kept calling and explaining that a need a white flat sheet. In the end they brought nothing and ignored my request. Over all we had a nice stay except for the misfortunate events in the beginning that I wouldn't expected from The Fairmont.

Wonderful Experience at Fairmont Clock Tower! We had an amazing stay—clean bathrooms, excellent room service, and a delicious breakfast included. The view of the Haram and Kaaba from our room was breathtaking. We booked one room for 4 people, but they generously upgraded us to two studio rooms for free. Highly recommend for comfort, service, and location!

The worst ever - super crowded for check in very few unprofessional staff to help customers check in - the worst was that we booked room for 3 to find out that it is for 2 with an extra horrible bed and no extra cups or towels to serve 3 customers moreover the check in time was too delayed to check in finally at 8 pm !!!!!! Requested every time to come to check in desk to line up in a long queue with no reason or even respect that we are too much delayed for check in and regarding the services we have to request more than 3 times anything and fight to have it done - it was the worst ever

I recently stayed at the Fairmont Makkah in a Fairmont Gold Junior Suite, and while the location and the room itself were lovely, the service left a lot to be desired. Despite requesting an early check-in, we ended up waiting around two and a half hours before getting access to our room. The dedicated Gold lounge was under renovation, and the temporary reception area had issues with air conditioning. While the staff was polite, they weren’t very accommodating. In-room dining was another disappointment. Our dinner arrived late and incorrect, and when we tried to contact the staff to fix the order, we received no prompt response. Although they promised to send the missing items, nothing ever arrived, and there was no follow-up or apology. When we checked out, the Gold lounge was finally open, but we faced difficulties getting a refund for the incorrect charges. The process was slow, and despite leaving my account details, I still haven’t received the refund hours later. While the food was delicious, the service experience was far from what I expected from a hotel of this caliber. Sadly, I don’t think I will repeat my stay in the future.

If you need anything, be prepared to ask for it 3-5 times before it is attended. For example we paid for an extra bed to make the room a 3 person room, the bed wasn’t delivered till after 15hrs to the room. Needed help with luggage, no one ever came to the room to help. Things like that create a high level of frustration while trying to focus on spiritual activities and staying patient. Not to mention we had been given 2 rooms with haram view (like a slither of the haram on the side of the hotel) that had bathrooms with non enclosed showers so every time you showered, the entire bathroom and all your belongings in there got wet. Overall disappointed with the level of service at this hotel. Should be a 3-3.5 star hotel. Not 5!

Service in restaurant and better staffing. We had to wait a long time for a table and after that the service was very poor and disappointing. For the price they charge , they need to staff better and train their staff better. Very poor experience.

Absolutely Amazing Hotel. The Fairmont in the Clock Tower is hands down the best 5-star hotel around the Haram. It’s incredibly clean, modern, and luxurious. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. The Breakfast is one of the I have ever had in a hotel.

It is a great property and lived up to its reputation. The rooms were very comfortable and clean and kitted out with very modern facilities. The breakfast was fantastic. I got a Haraam view room and it was so worth it. Was a very special stay. The staff were all very helpful and polite. The one thing I would say is that the room service line took forever to answer and pick up. I appreciate it is a busy hotel and apparently there is a way to order online as well. However, that option is not at all obvious or working. I was able to go online using a QR code and access the menu but there was no way to order online even though the staff were saying there is. As a result I had to stay on the room service hold line for nearly 30 mins. Aside from this minor hiccup, it was a great stay. I would highly recommend to others and also go again myself if the occasion arose.

Stayed for a couple days with my wife and three kids. We stayed in a triple room. Overall the hotel looks very fancy. They serve dates and coffee several times a day. Breakfast was very average, not upto standards of a fairmont. Room service was subpar, not sure why 2 out of the 4 nights our rooms were not cleaned. Also the amenities were not always replenished such as toothbrushes, slippers, and obviously the water when they didn't show up. The business center was poor, no space if you had your own laptop. I had a conference call and requested a better space (there is a two tier system, the fairmont gold has a better one I suppose) but that was denied to me.
