Extremely Disappointing Stay at Pullman ZamZam Makkah My recent stay at the 5-star Pullman ZamZam was extremely disappointing and far below expectations for a hotel of this standard. The check-in process was chaotic and delayed, with reception staff using WhatsApp messages to arrange rooms instead of a proper hotel system. No one explained why it was taking so long, and it was clear the team needed better training on hotel operations and guest handling. The room was in a rundown condition, with old furniture, a poorly maintained bathroom, and no view as advertised, which felt misleading. The lift system was another nightmare — since the hotel is on P11 and shares the building with a public food court on P3 and P4, everyone (including non-guests) uses the same lifts. This caused 20–30 minute delays just to go up or down, which is unacceptable for a 5-star property. The only redeeming part of my stay was the housekeeping team, who were polite, professional, and truly delivered 5-star service. Their friendliness and efficiency stood out amidst an otherwise poor experience. Overall, I strongly suggest management address the check-in process, staff training, lift congestion, and room maintenance, as the current standards do not reflect the Pullman brand or a true 5-star experience.

Breakfast No soft drink or soda available. Taxi. They don't allow taxis to come into clock tower, i had to walk, after so much exaustion from travelling and umrah, police of clock tower do not allow except departure and arrival. They treat our taxi driver very harshly and talk very rude I will suggest to get hotel outside to have more freedom. They are indirectly forcing travelers to get hotel taxi.

Parking is impossible. It took me 2 hours going in circles to find the hotel entrance for people who are driving. GPS gives wrong directions. Parking with the hotel is very expensive ($80/night), but it is the only thing available.

My experience at Pullman ZamZam was excellent overall. The only improvement I would suggest is updating their navigation address online for guests who plan to drive to the hotel. After navigating through heavy traffic for over two hours, Google Maps directed me to the upper level instead of the underground entrance. I eventually had to pay a cab driver to guide me to the correct location. If the navigation details were updated to guide drivers directly to the underground area, it would greatly enhance the guest experience. Other than that, I would highly recommend this hotel without hesitation!

Checked in couple hours ago, called twice reception for washroom cleaning, no one here yet. Very dirty and stinky wash room and bath tub clogged to the point where you can’t put your foot in, all dirty sewage water filling in. Bedcovers also not neat and clean. From the price point, they could have done better, big time disappointment.

there were cockroaches in the room, the toilet looks like it had never been cleaned. there was a constant smell coming from the bathroom so the door needed to be closed all the time. The bathroom roof started leaking like a shower so had to ask them to move us to another room. Every single time I called to get help, either no one will pick up, or i will keep getting transfer or the worse, simply got hung up by the staff. Do not recommend staying in this hotel. Not worth the money

The classic room with city view and 3 single beds: The bed size was like children bed. No where near a twin bed size. My both rooms gave an odor. In one room the musky smell was so severe that I had to request my room to be changed. No microwave to heat any food. Very inconvenient. Bathrooms were very outdated and in extremely poor condition/nasty. The house keeping was done daily and polite. Location of hotel is convenient. Breakfast was good experience with many choices to pick from. Overall, overpriced considering room conditions. Would not book it next time.

I am very disappointed about my stay at Pullman zamzam It wasn’t a pleasant experience. The reception staff were very rude not helpful and needs a lot of training to deal with customer. My room was extremely outdated with moody and misty smells and has no partially Haram view as I requested with extra charge. I requested exchange rooms 3 times the reception workers told us they have a lot of customers they have no room to accommodate them ( basically they have no time for my complaint) and the manager was never available.

Although it's a 5* hotel, the conditions of the rooms are of a 3*hotel. The bathroom needs major renovating. The room smelt of urine and looked very dirty. I did not feel comfortable walking bare foot in the room. The room had no lighting apart from 4 lamps. It was very hard to see especially when dark or when there was no sunlight. On the other hand, the hotel lobby itself is nice. The staff are friendly. We had breakfast included in our package - it was good. The area is very convenient however, the lifts take time coming up and down going to the Haram however, lifts in the hotel are quick. You need to leave early to attend prayers on time. AC was very loud. The small kitchen was not needed and if people require rhis, there should be separate rooms for people who require this. The hotel should have smaller rooms for 2 people. Not worth the price we paid. We won't be staying here again.

I was there for two nights. The second night I got terrible bed bug bites. That was really bad. They should really improve the cleanliness of their rooms and make sure there is no bed bugs or cockroaches. The amount of money they charge for their rooms would be justified if there were no bed bugs! Food is good quality and the staffs are mostly good and helpful. Another issue was: I paid for haram courtyard view room but I received a room without the haram view. So they should have charged me less for not giving me the right type of room.

We booked 2 rooms for 3 nights with 3 twin beds in each room City View. The rooms and bathrooms need a real upgrade. For the half price, their Madina one has the upgraded and very spacious and nicely decorated rooms. If it was not for the location that you get access to haram right from your hotel, there is no fancy thing about it for the price they charge.

We were on the 18th floor, the room was spacious and clean, however you could still hear noise from the outside, I don't know if this was a common for all rooms. There was a small kitchen area in the room to make tea. Bathroom was clean and spacious too with all amenities available. The hotel is super close to the haram, I had read reviews that wait for the lifts were really long, but this is not something that we experienced at all. Staff were friendly and helped anytime we needed anything. The breakfast buffet is large with a nice variety. Overall, amazing experience, I would not hesitate to book here again. Thank you!

The location is ideal, the issues i had were, that we were told we can check in from 2pm, but they wouldnt allow us until after 4. the air conditioning was really noisy, so was the fridge. the area outside the room was noisy and our door was not sound proofed. it was disappointing as i had high expectations of this hotel.

Issue with the room when we checked in and then we talked to the duty manager Mohammad he is very polite and accommodating person he listen our issue and Asked desk staff Ahmad to help us and Ahmad gave us some good options and finally we pay some extra and upgraded to Presidential suite. That is a lovely option as we have Haram view Alhamdulillah. Again thanks for Mohammed and Ahmed for making our stay very comfortable.

Check in was terrible. Took several minutes to get checked in as it was so busy and unorganised. There were heaps of people waiting by the reception. Staff were not helpful at all. We were not even taken to our room, they just handed the key card and made us make our own way to the room along with us carrying our own luggages. I would not consider this a 5 star establishment at all. We were given no information about breakfast or Wi-Fi. Furthermore, the location and getting into the hotel required 2 lifts of which both taken roughly 20-30 mins to allow yourself back into the hotel as the clock tower is so busy. Meaning the lifts take forever and stop at every floor till you can even make it back to your hotel let alone your room. We were put on the 22nd floor which is the top when i specifically requested a low floor with a baby. An extremely unorganised and manic hotel. Was a very negative experience and did not feel 5 star whatsoever. The phone didn’t work in the room which meant there was so room service help whatsoever. Hardly any clean towels or toiletries given. Overall unhelpful staff and far too busy to be a decent business. I would give this hotel a miss.

The front staff was not helpful at all. They keep saying check in at 4pm even though yours indicates 2pm. We had to approach the DM Mr Badr and Mr Mustafa for help who got us checked in within 20mins. Thankful for their help and they should be appreciated for their service

I booked through Expedia my whole Umrah trip for 4 people. Somehow the room that I finally booked was of 3 single beds. I called property and emailed them too but the issue was not solved. When we finally reached there and talked to them, they were very nice and receptive. They upgrade our room and gave us a suite instead. It was first Umrah of my kids and we were staying at Pullman Zamzam for the first time too. This act made our stay memorable and we are now Pullman ZamZam for life. Also their luggage policy is very good and helpful. Haram is right outside the hotel. Breakfast options were great too.

Shockingly bad service. I injured my foot and requested first aid kit and they did not have plasters. They instead instructed me to go to the pharmacy with bleeding foot myself. I’m paying £300 a night and they could not help source me a bandage or a plaster. This is not what you should expect from a 5 star hotel. Poor.

Located in the clock tower building, so among the closest to the Kaaba. Great shopping in the building itself, self contained, crowded lifts, overpriced, but choices are limited when its comes to accomodation in the area. Rooms could defintely get a make over, bathrooms aged and need attention. Breakfast however was amazing.

Hotel is nicely located just steps away from Haram . Keep in mind that phased renovation is going on for room condition . Rooms towards Haram view or partial view are I guess already renovated and are spacious and nicely done The elevators from ground floor to hotel lobby is time consuming and often crowded however elevators of hotel itself are efficient and enough . Easy pick up and drop off through the -2 floor level Breakfast has large variety but could be improved . Huge food court on 3rd and 4th level catering all sorts of food

For a 5 star hotel, you would expect better. It was an okay experience. We had half board included with breakfast and dinner. Do not recommend it at all at this hotel. The food was almost inedible and was horrible. There were not too many choices and the cusine was veryyy limited. We stayed at zamzam before to but this was the first time we included dinner. Save your money and don't at here. Hotel rooms were good, service was regular. Nothing above and beyond. We have stayed at swisshotel and the food snd service was always better

My stay at Zam Zam Pullman was okay, but it didn't quite live up to the hype. I paid extra for Haram view but the view was not as impressive as expected. The breakfast had a good brunch style selection. However the cleanliness needs improvement as we noticed bugs on bedsheet even after it was replaced. The excellent location is definitely the hotels biggest DvNtGe and makes it a desirable place to stay.
