At Red Carpet Inn Rochester, travelers describe a budget, no-frills stay with many noting clean, quiet rooms and friendly staff, alongside a convenient location for Mayo Clinic visits and nearby dining.

Common drawbacks include dated furnishings, basic mattresses, and HVAC controls that can leave rooms too cold or warm. Several reviews note hot, musty common areas and occasional maintenance glitches with fridges or in-room coffee makers. Policies can surprise guests, particularly a cash deposit and the lack of breakfast. Expect a simple, affordable stop focused on value and proximity to Mayo.

The check in staff was extremely nice. The stairs and hall to the rooms definitely had odor and was extremely hot. The room was “ok”, but it was cheap. I’ve stayed at worse places for more. The “decor” in the room was very outdated….like it was furnished from a Goodwill store. The walls had places that I think were touched up with the wrong color paint or it was painted to cover up something else….not sure. The mattress sucked, but the pillows were top notch. Would I stay there again? Probably….as long as it isn’t more than I paid this time around.

We had a long drive to get to Rochester and were greated by a very friendly lady at Red Carpet. Nice room except on 2nd floor. Clean, brought fresh towels when we requested. Nice location close to shopping, nice eating places and easy to get to Mayo clinic. Offered shuttle to hospital, had wifi, nice tv and we slept well.

The major downfalls were the room was kinda musty smelling from the air conditioner fan not being left on between guests and the refrigerator was not cold so i could not refreez my ice packs for my cooler, and there is no air movement in the halls it was like a sauna

Very basic. Looked like an old place that was renovated but hallways smelly and hot. No air in lobby, no breakfast or coffee. Rooms had air conditioner but you can't adjust it, just use an on/off switch or call desk for adjustments. Steep stairs to lobby. Pretty clean, good fridge and microwave. No vending machines, just ice.

Staff super friendly. But….no breakfast offered, no hairdryer in room, the microwave and refrigerator were not plugged in, the room was incredibly cold (I tried turning up heat but didn’t seem to make a difference, I ended up doubling over my blankets to keep warm). I noticed the a/c is located high on the wall, if it were summer you wouldn’t be able to adjust it. One of the light bulbs was burned out, carpet stained. But over all the bedding and towels were very clean. Drinks and snack vending machines. I’m not sure where the ice maker was located but I assume there is one on the premise. Inside was quiet, some loud street traffic at times.

Needed a place to stay for the MX races. After looking at reviews I chose the Red Carpet. Very nice lady checked us in. Very large double queen room was reserved. Went to room, and had to turn on AC(no problem). We out and had a late dinner and room was cooled down when we got back. Shower had plenty of hot water for the next morning. If, you want a CLEAN, CHEAP place to stay this is it.

I did not like that the room was cold. I was told to turn the knob to 5 and the room will get hot after 30 minutes. Knob was truned for more than 12, and the room didn't even get warm. This is during a Rochester, MN weather that was 21 degree but left like 9 degree. The facility was clean and quiet.

Nothing online States anything about needing a deposit however once you arrive they tell you that you have to pay the deposit that needs to be in cash and you cannot cancel your reservation or you'll lose your money so it puts you in a pretty tight spot if you're not expecting that. And they seem to charge each individual differently some are charge 50 and some are charged 100 simply based upon their choosing.

Room smelled when we entered. Closed door and head board fell off wall. Hotel staff in hallway and tried to let them know, they didn't speak English. Road noise was very loud. Old coffee filter was in coffee maker, gross! Couldn't use tub as there was no stopper. Didn't have a hair dryer. The price was great but that was the only positive thing. Glad we were only there for one night.
