What guests think
Reviews of Holiday Inn Express Rochester-Victor by IHG note clean rooms, friendly staff, a popular hot breakfast with cinnamon rolls, and a convenient location near I-90 and shopping, though some guests mention noise and variable pool or hot tub temperatures.
Many guests find rooms spacious with comfortable beds, but a number report aging TVs, loud or faulty HVAC, and sliding bathroom doors that don’t fully close. Housekeeping quality varies, with some reports of odors, dampness, or pests. Breakfast is widely appreciated for variety and cinnamon rolls, though a few mention limited replenishment or a broken machine. Overall, expect a convenient stop with a solid breakfast, offset at times by noise and maintenance inconsistencies.

Facilities
The indoor pool and hot tub receive mixed feedback: some praise a large, enjoyable soak, while others report cold or cloudy water, early closures, or the hot tub not working. A gym is available, and parking is easy.

My family of 5 stayed here for 3 nights. We have stayed at many Holiday Inn hotels and have never had an issue. Don’t expect them to clean your room. We asked for towels the second day. Asked for a blanket for the sleepout sofa the first night and had to do the trash ourselves. Breakfast was ehhh….not terrible but not great. Best part was the pancake maker. I guess for almost $200/night so expected at least for the pool to be in good shape. Not the case. Hot tub was green and gross looking and pool was cold and murky. Definitely DID NOT look like the online pics. Overall disappointing as my kiddos would have enjoyed some pool time.

Our stay was just “okay”. The most frustrating thing was that my husband got woken up by a LOUD BUS each morning super early before 5am. That was really annoying and would have been nice to know that it may be a regular occurrence there. Losing sleep like that messes up the day! It was also frustrating because I am Deaf and the TVs closed captions literally covered the whole screen with a black box. We had to go buy a Roku to be able to watch TV. The pool was cloudy and gross and the hottub was also cloudy. We needed to do laundry and the washer soap dispenser didn’t work, we had to run our laundry twice after troubleshooting ourselves because the staff were no help and never returned our call. The breakfast was excellent each morning and had variety. The worker there did a great job!

Hotel was very clean and updated. We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub although the hot tub could have been much warmer. Our room was fantastic. Our fridge didn’t keep our food/drinks cold but overall it was very pleasant. Breakfast had a ton of options and was delicious.

What's not to love about this hotel. The staff and welcoming and friendly. The rooms are clean and the beds are so comfortable. The free breakfast has lots of great choices and even the coffee is great! We enjoyed the patio in the evening, sitting around the lovely fire table and sipping on our favorite drinks. The pool and hot tub were also great although a bit small, but still absolutely spotless. It's not our first time and will not be our last!

There were used plastic cups, countertop between beds had sticky residue, open roll toliet paper with no back up, the toliet seat was loose enough to move sideways about 3-4", there was cheese in the refrigerator, several inches of water in the ice bucket, the front desk would not give us any extra coffee pods, the conditioner container was empty and the body was container was almost empty, microwave was dirty inside.

Upon my arrival and check-in at your hotel, my excitement quickly turned into dismay as I encountered a series of issues that marred my stay. To begin with, I noticed that the door to my room was propped open. While I was informed that it might have been due to recent maid service, this immediately raised concerns about the security of my belongings and the overall professionalism of the housekeeping staff. Upon entering the restroom, I was greeted with an alarming level of uncleanliness on the bathroom floor. There was a noticeable accumulation of hair and dirt, creating an unsanitary and uncomfortable environment. Despite my efforts to report this matter to the front desk, I was met with an unhelpful response, stating that the cleaning staff had already departed for the day. This left me in the unfortunate position of having to clean the restroom floor myself, which is an experience that should never have occurred during my stay. The disappointments continued as I settled into bed, only to discover a prominent stain on the bedsheet. This oversight by the housekeeping team was both distressing and unacceptable, as it indicated a lack of attention to detail and a disregard for guest comfort.

Didn’t like finding a live cockroach in our daughter’s room when we checked in. The air conditioner didn’t work in our room or our son’s room. He called front desk 3 times and no one fixed it. Breakfast server couldn’t keep food supplied during busy time. Hot tub had cold water.

Hotel was overall good, our accessible room was at the farthest point from the entrance, our room needed repair to the blackout curtains as they didn’t cover the entire window nor did we have any other type of window coverings to provide privacy and our heating unit kept ticking after shutting down. We eventually had to shut the unit off to get to sleep.

The hotel is convenient location after long hours driving, the check in was very easy and simple. The only inconvenience the TV service must be update with smart TV been able to connect our own services or better cable service I couldn’t watch nothing of my preference and I wasn’t able to connect my own service. Not even radio.

We enjoyed our stay, however, the doors on the bathrooms don't lock, just sliding doors (you can see through open spaces), doors (I believe are being replaced in the Fall?) have to be pulled hard to shut, almost like being slammed, and difficult to open. I also left a rather expensive hoodie (San Fransisco Hard Rock Cafe, white so it blended in with the sheets). Called a day later to get it back, somehow, it never turned up. Overall, hotel was clean, and staff were all friendly. OH, the pool was FREEZING!

I reserved a king room. When I got there they I have 2 queens ( they changed it as I also asked for connecting rooms so they changed the king for 2 queens to accomodate the connecting rooms). When I told them I still wanted the king bed I was given a bit of attitude. Eventually she gave us a king room.. I had 2 rooms, one room the heater broke in the middle of the night.. We woke up to a freezing room!.

We arrived at the Holiday Inn Express on Friday night after having driven 900 miles that day only to learn that this "pet friendly" hotel no longer allows pets, despite Hotels.com showing it as pet friendly upon booking and even the morning of the stay. We were not able to stay there and had to find another hotel at 9pm at night - resulting in a significantly higher room rate and frustration. The front desk people were apologetic, but did not help in rebooking us at different property - saying only...We really need to get that updated on Hotels.com.

Friendly and knowledgable staff. Our check-in was very fast. Our fan was very loud after testing the air conditioner We mentioned it to the front staff who provided us with a new room and had management looking into fixing the fan. We noticed arrived within the hour was clean with lots of towels available. Hot Breakfast was great With many options, including a pancake maker. We are used to seeing the waffle maker, but this was our first time with a pancake Maker! My 10 year old son loved it. Only stayed one night, but nice and Close to shopping And other amenities, including the interstate. Would stay again if we were in the area.

We reserved a room with one king bed or one queen bed. They switched our reservation after seeing we were a gay couple to make us stay in a double bed room. The front desk agent said to us that we either take it or leave the hotel. Terrible customer service and will never stay here again because of that front desk agent being homophobic.

The disappointments continued as I settled into bed, only to discover a prominent stain on the bedsheet. This oversight by the housekeeping team was both distressing and unacceptable, as it indicated a lack of attention to detail and a disregard for guest comfort.

Location
Conveniently just off I-90 and close to shopping and restaurants; many used it as a simple stopover between destinations. Rooms on the interstate side can pick up road noise.

I chose this location as it has easy access to the interstate and was the right distance in to my journey. Excellent staff, great rooms. I used the gym which had enough for me to get a good workout in. There were lots of people in the pool. Everywhere was clean. My door was sticking but maintenance got on to it straight away. Well managed property. I would stay here again

Very nice stay. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. The only thing to note is that you can hear the road noise if your room is on the side facing the interstate.

We were on our way through NY and just needed a good night sleep . This was easy off and on the main road and quite. The room was very clean, AC was on when we got there on a super hot day. Room and bathroom were clean. The bed was awesome . Left too early to try the breakfast. Would stay here again

Large lobby with a variety of seating and a beautiful outdoor patio with a firepit. There's a good size indoor pool and hot tub. The gym had a variety of equipment and all were in good shape. Most staff was super friendly and accommodating. The hotel is very clean. The only disappointment was the free breakfast and lack of coffee available in the lobby, however there were Keurigs in each room. The breakfast attendant did not keep food stocked during breakfast hours. I had to ask if there was any fruit both days because she wouldn't keep the bowls stocked. Empty bins for cinnamon rolls and omelets on the second day of our stay. Not sure if they ran out or if she just didn't keep put them out. Shout out to Steve, Taryn, and Chris who went above and beyond to make our stay extra enjoyable!
