The young lady at front desk (Thurs 7/31)was very helpful getting a page printed for me and patient despite a steady flow of customers, my own phone issues all while making sure cookies were full… Only suggestion would be to add a transparent drape to the windows (at least on the first floor) you either get viewed by every person walking by or zero sunlight.

Clean, safe, good price, good breakfast, ice water in the foyer, cookies in the evenings, convenient laundry that operates via an app. Just know that if you book a room with 2 beds, it will face the highway.

The hotel is probably ok for an overnight stay. We were in town to meet family and stayed for 2 nights. Unfortunately, this hotel has no elevator, so carrying all of our luggage up the stairs wasn't ideal. And there are no microwave ovens in the rooms. Speaking of microwaves...on the first night, we had to evacuate because the fire alarms went off about 10:00 pm. When we got downstairs, the main lobby area was filled with smoke. Apparently, someone set their popcorn on for too long and burnt the heck out of it.

We had a 3-night stay visiting family in the area. We were very happy with our stay. Staff were responsive. The room was quiet. Parking just outside. Short walk to Chilli’s Restaurant for pick-up. Complementary breakfast was good and the gym was good. Malls and shopping convenient. Erie Canal nearby too.

Cleanliness

Many reviews describe clean rooms, but issues recur with odors (musty or smoke), stained hallway carpets, and occasional housekeeping misses. Overall cleanliness feels mixed across rooms and common areas.

Common areas were a bit messy. The exterior key door nearest the room was malfunctioning and required going around to the main entrance. Room was cleaned well but maintenance in the bathroom was lagging with improper and messy caulking around the shower and sink, this seemed mostly cosmetic. Room and common areas could use some air freshener or outside air flow as the air seemed stale and stuffy. All this said I would still give the stay positive marks as it was good for the money spent.

It was mostly good, except that it wasn't particularly clean nor did it seem the room was serviced. The reson I say that is when I went to climb into bed and pulled back the covers there were a pair of dirty socks under the covers on the bedspread. Additionally there were several black hairs on the pillow cases.

I had an extremely disappointing experience during my recent stay at this hotel. The bathroom floor had visible human hair, and we had to call housekeeping to clean it. The ironing board had burned spots, and those marks transferred to a brand-new white shirt I had planned to wear to an event—completely ruining it. Worst of all, ants were crawling all over the window area and even got into our clothes. This level of cleanliness and maintenance is unacceptable, and it significantly impacted my trip. I expected much better for the price we paid. I hope management takes feedback like this seriously and addresses these issues for future guests.

Pros: very clean room, well maintained indoors and grounds. Sufficient wall outlets in room. No Highway noise in this room. Nice hot and cold breakfast provided. Fresh baked cookies and lemon water in the lobby. Other than the front lobby, all exterior doors were locked and could be opened only with a hotel key card. Cons: Air conditioning was difficult to regulate adequately. The mattress was too soft. Only one tiny waste basket was provided which we had to empty every day as there was no daily maid service. Our room key cards got demagnetized 2 out of 4 days requiring an extra trip to the front desk. Note: great hotel staff, friendly and helpful, particularly Olivia in reception.

Check in clerk was rude and dismissive. Not at all friendly or welcoming. In addition, when there were no regular coffee packets in the room, I asked him for a couple. He was annoyed. Check in was horrible. Girl that was on the desk didnt know what she was doing. Took her ten minutes to figure out which room i was supposed to be in. I get a room and its not one i requested. I booked a king bed and ended up with 1 queen. I go back and she put me in a room with 2 queens. We checked in at 8 pm and didnt pursue another change. While at the desk i noticed a container of ear plugs. I asked if there was a reason for them and i was told if your room is on the highway side you'll need them. Boy was she right. Room was small, batrlhroom and the tv too. Free breakfast was a joke. Premade sandwhiches. No eggs bacon or sausage. They have 2 waffle irons.

The main issue we had was the key card not working. They would work once then we had to go get them redone. I had spinal surgery in June so I'm still having some mobility issues. We were on the 2nd floor so I had to take the stairs. Being locked out of the hotel and having to walk all the way around to the front to get the key card fixed was a lot. I don't think I'll ever stay at that Microtel again. We have stayed there before and never had any issues. It was disappointing.
