Hyatt Place Newark-Silicon Valley

The room was nice. Basic but fine. The location is a little weird right behind a car dealership. I was excited about the bar and restaurant on site. But by the time I arrived around 7:30 they had already closed. That was a big selling point in the ad. Rooms don’t have microwaves or refrigerators. Not usually a problem, but I had to go out to eat and had leftovers that I didn’t bring back with me because of it. The place was nice, but I’ll probably choose a different hotel next time just because of the little things I’ve mentioned here.

Stayed so my daughter could swim but the pool was extremely cold, not a very good experience at all as when we were sleeping we could hear people walking and sounds from other rooms. There was an unpleasant smell in the floor we stayed in. Overall not happy with the property and won’t be staying here next time.

Rooms were clean and quiet. Gym was awesome.

Would be 5 Stars but the $15 parking charge, in an unsecured parking lot, brings down the rating a bit.

The stay was great. However, the blink car charging was priced way too high and because of that I will not stay at this property agaun.

Hyatts a great a hotel. I loved that this one was new and interior designs of the rooms were great. Felt like a studio apartment. The bathroom was great as well. The big down side to this hotel was the pool. The entire pool room felt like a sauna. The pool also looked green and cloudy. It looks unsafe to even swim or touch. When asked if it was okay, they were very hesitant that it was. Though I’ve never seen a pool that colour. Ended up going to and booking a pool at a nearby hotel instead…… :/

It would be nice if they had a hot tube, sauna or steam room. The indoor pool is nice.

Parking stalls are a bit too small.

There’s a bar however no bartender on site so they can’t serve.

Rooms are 10/10 clean

This place was nicer than the majority of more expensive hotels I’ve stayed at. Room was spacious, clean, and smelled new. Staff was wonderful and the breakfast was fabulous. Would definitely stay here again!

The bathroom shower is not very clean, stains in the corners. How hard is it to scrub a shower??? Spraying with cleaning solution is not enough and I have stayed here before with cleaner shower. Also hair in the bathroom is so easy to spot. The cleaning people are just plain lazy here.

ANTS IN THE ROOM TOLD FRONT DESK THEY SAID TOO BAD WE HAVE NO OTHER ROOMS WE HAVE BUG SPRAY FOR U BUT U NEED TO COME GET IT AND BRING IT BACK WHEN U ARE DONE WITH IT

I rated one star for cleanliness not because the rooms are dirty. The hotel is brand new but for some reason they have ant infestation problem. We had to switch room the first day as there was ants on our bed. However the second room was fine. I guess spoked to us and he had to change rooms 3 times because of ant problems. Hopefully they can keep that under control because all in all the property is really nice, breakfast is good, good staff, free parking with security at night.

Poor customer service. Did not provide the room size we booked for. Gave us a smaller room. Then said they would have a room ready the size we booked for later. Gave us another room that was occupied with people. After 10pm they finally gave us a room to fit our family but the pull out bed was broken and a cockroach found in room. Staff was not helpful! Roberto was helpful and more knowledgeable than the manager Mahen. Upon booking out heard that we were not the only ones dealing with this. Another person had issues with not having hot water in their room. Would not recommend this hotel. Hotel was under staff and looked and acted like they hated their job.

When I checked into my room there was ants on the floor so I killed a few and paid it no mind. Then I got food later in the day and sat my food in the room for maybe 2 hours max and there was ants all over the and they completely covered my food and they where all over the place. My girlfriend did not feel comfortable sleeping in the room but we where already checked in and comfortable with all of our belongings unpacked we stuck it out and slept with all of the ants. Really great property. Huge open layout, well designed rooms. Separate lounge area is a huge bonus. Adjacent to 880 so travel was easy during our stay. Our room was on the top floor overlooking the 880 with a nice views of the mountains in the background. Rooms have sound proof glass so it was very quite. Really comfortable bed too. Also complimentary breakfast was really nice. The highlight is definitely the staff. Across the board they were all great to talk to. Mahen, the front desk manager was a pleasure to deal with and he looked after us in everyway during our 4 night stay. This stay was towards the end of a 4 week driving holiday in California and this property was easily the standout.

Everything was great but could have used a microwave. The breakfast was excellent.

Loved the non-carpeted room. Made it feel much cleaner. Extremely comfortable beds and overall wonderful stay.

Hotel was very clean and kept up very nicely. Our room was facing the freeway and it was so quiet. We couldn’t hear any noises. Plus the blackout curtains were amazing. Only complaint we had was that the AC wouldn’t go down. So we were stuck with the temp at 76 which was fine for me but not for my kids or Husband. They prefer the room to be a lot cooler.

The room had a faulty air conditioner and the room was stuffy and not very comfortable. After reporting the problem, we found that the entire 5th floor had no air conditioning due to a mechanical problem. We were immediately relocated to a different room on the third floor. It was much better!

This hotel is fine. Clean room, friendly, attentive staff. My only criticism is the chair in the room in front of the desk. Extremely uncomfortable and no way to adjust. No support for back, very hard to move. Other hotels in this class have ergonomic chairs that adjust up a down, and are on wheels.

Pretty new hotel, near Newark Mall. Plenty of parking, great breakfast. Medium size indoor pool. Originally I got a room booked on the 4th floor with 1 window facing freeway. As soon as I got checked in within minutes I got a call from front desk that I’m getting a noise complaint. Turnes out my toddler walking in the room was so loud that I got moved to another room since the guests below couldn’t enjoy their stay. I’ve never had this happen. This hotel has very poor sound proofing walls, even I could hear people around us and people on the hallways. We ended up getting moved to bottom floor where it’s much more sound proof and my son can walk freely with out complaints. If you travel with kids stay on main floor otherwise you may get moved.

The room was huge. The bed was so comfy. The decor was modern and new. It was everything we asked for and needed. I will stay there again. Very nice. No complaints at all.

I had a prepaid reservation with a confirmation number. When I showed up at the property, I was told my reservation was cancelled. I asked who cancelled it and the hotel informed me that travelocity cancelled my reservation. After speaking with travelocity it was the hotel who cancelled my reservation. The hotel never called or emailed me that my reservation was cancelled. They apparently over booked the hotel. The hotel left me homeless for the night. I spoke with the hotel manager today and he said he would email me an apology letter. Hopefully they do. NO ONE SHOULD BE DENIED A ROOM IF IT IS PREPAID AND THEY HAVE A CONFIRMATION NUMBER. I book hotel rooms every single week for work. I am well versed in checking in and checking out. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. Be cautious booking here, they may randomly cancel your reservation and leave you homeless like they did to me. The front desk was zero help she basically told me I was S.O.L.

This property seems new, decently maintained, clean and comfortable. The morning breakfast was a nightmare, most often the buffet was empty, plates unavailable, and not enough tables. I also think they are short staffed, reception was average, most calls to front desk would not be answered or you’ll be on hold. The room service was god but you can’t expect this everyday.

The staff was amazing

Brand new property. Dull location near an automall. Service is a bit patchy. Could be because its still early days. Had to ask three days and numerous follow ups before I could get housekeeping to tidy the room.

There is no service, check in time is 3pm. We arrived at 430pm and room is still not ready. There is no drinking water on the entire facility. Drinking fountain is broken, no ice water at the lobby, and no ice water during breakfast on second day - can you believe that? We has to purchase bottle water. Did online check out, never got emailed the invoice as promised even after a call to the front desk. Horrible experience!

The manager, Joel, was kind and cared about customer service. The staff were amazing and kind when serving us. The rooms were clean, and the services they provided were great. Our stay for our soccer tournament was amazing thanks Hyatt hotel!

Vehicle was stolen. Asked around and apparently it has happened occasionally. It was a huge inconvenience for us.

I was on a business visit to Fremont/Newark and I chose. this place to stay. I had a pleasant experience and found the hotel to be well located in a quiet surrounding as well as proximity to dining or shopping options closely. It was also to access my meetings from the place. Rooms were clean and comfortable and there is nothing that I can complain.

Reasonable price and convenient location

Nice hotel easy to get to from freeway. Close by shopping and restaurants. Staff were friendly and the hotel was very clean. Free breakfast was a plus.

This was our 1st time staying while visiting my Dad. We will definitely be back soon. Even though we were in the business district our room was so quiet. The sunset from our room was beautiful. Centrally located to restaurants and the local activities. Our room was so nice and the bed so comfortable. Staff were super gracious too. The workout room is pretty set up as well with lots of equipment options.

Good property right on John Muir Dr and convenient to freeway and to city either way.

We stayed for our last night in the area due to the convenient location to our activities, the San Jose Airport and having a charging station for our electric car rental. The room was good size, clean, and quiet. Would definitely stay again.

Location of hotel is great, super quiet, easy to find and see from main road, convenient for hospital visits in Fremont. Asst. Mgr. helped with my mistake on booking through Hotels.com - super helpful and polite! Room was clean and spacious enough, water pressure good. Our main issue was the breakfast & staffing; we stayed five nights and upon checkout we arrived to breakfast right at 9am and the workers were LITERALLY taking food away from us as we were trying to put it on our napkin as no plates. I asked for cups for my mother and I as there was one left and worker was super rude; I had to explain to here that there were two of us (we were both standing there) and only one cup and the look I got was pure evil. She took the one cup and returned a couple of minutes later with exactly two cups. There was a couple sitting next to us that forgot utensils and went back and everything was put away and they could not eat. Another person caught the attention of the main mgr and let him know that her food was RAW. There were about 10 people left in the dining room and to take ALL the food right at 9am was just incredibly insensitive. Almost like they were able to take all the leftovers home so they wanted as much as possible. Super embarrassing for a Hyatt. We were not able to order food one night as the only person working was on break. We had to stay an extra night due to my father being released from hospital and we did NOT re-book, we went elsewhere because of the food service.

Amazing hotel, breakfast was not the best.

We checked in late so didn’t get to explore the hotel much. Had to park behind the hotel with no entry doors as the entire front lot is all compact parking only. Beds were comfortable. We got a wake up call at 6am which we did not ask for. Then couldn’t get back to sleep, so that was unfortunate. Went to get breakfast downstairs and the elevator was stuck. We could hear someone on the emergency phone, so used the stairs which went to an exterior exit. Went back up, walked to the opposite side of the building and finally got downstairs. Breakfast was from 7-10am and we got there around 8:50 and there were no forks, no bowls, just a few plates and knives and slim pickings. We asked for a bowl for cereal for my son and the breakfast attendant just smiled and kept cleaning counters. Eventually someone else brought out freshly cleaned forks she was drying with a towel, but a few still had food on them. Never got a bowl. We had to wait for a place to sit as it was very busy and not enough seating. Breakfast options weren’t great and service was just okay. The room was fine, seemed newly updated/renovated. Shower had small hairs in it, like after someone shaved their legs. It was fine for a night, but they definitely need more seating for breakfast as well as help to keep things running smoothly. We also saw signs for Starbucks as well as a menu you could order from starting at 7:00am, but there was no attendant so we couldn’t order anything.

Everything was good except the breakfast quality was not as good compared to few months ago when I went. Food ran out before serving hours and not refill everything like bread, ham, tortilla, and fruits.

When I ordered from the restaurant/bar on my first night, the food available was pizza. Then on the second night, the french fries weren't available. Overall, my experience was great except for the food options.

We stay at Hyatt Place Newark/Silicon Valley for 12 nights due to the bathroom remodel. We really enjoy the stay. The staffs are friendly and the hotel is clean. The breakfast is good with a lot of variety.

Great hotel, excellent staff, except food prep staff who continue to be late with bringing out the breakfast stuff and when it comes out it’s cold . They need some supervision! Are this fix the place would be 5 star
