I don’t enjoy leaving negative reviews, and I hesitated to write this one because this property receives so many exceptional ratings. Unfortunately, our experience was very different, and I don’t feel the accommodation came close to justifying the price we paid. I do want to start with the positives: the room was clean, and the gentleman at the front desk was absolutely lovely, welcoming, and helpful. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended for us. The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable, and they squeaked with even the slightest movement. Because of this, every time someone shifted during the night—which happened frequently because the beds were so uncomfortable—it disturbed the others in the room. There was also visible brown staining from what appeared to be previous water damage on the box springs, as well as water staining on the ceiling and wall. More concerning was the electrical issue. A breaker repeatedly tripped, including while we were sleeping, leaving us with only one functioning light in the bathroom and unable to use the other electrical outlets, TV or lights. After being woken around 3:30 a.m. by noise from the neighbouring unit, we packed our belongings using the lights on our phones - getting back to sleep was not happening so we decided to get on the road Sound insulation was another significant issue. Conversations, children, pets, and general noise from the surrounding units was rather loud, unfortunately this was not a restful stay

We highly recommend this motel. From the minute we arrived in the office, we were warmly greeted, they answered our questions about Sault St Marie and offered us either soft beds or firm. We chose firm and the beds were so comfortable! The property is beautifully decorated and well maintained. Rooms were clean, lots of amenities, staff friendly. We will definitely come to The Ambassador should we return to SSMarie.

This is a wonderful little motel with exceptionally friendly staff. The room was very clean with patio doors to the back with a wonderful private field area which was excellent for my dog to play and run around. I would stay again!
