The room itself was very nice and the room service was good, but unfortunately the overall experience was badly let down by the hotel’s handling of check-in and communication. I had paid for the room in full in advance, with check-in available from 2:00 pm. My girlfriend and I were arriving on separate flights, and I contacted the hotel beforehand to explain the situation. Despite this, my messages were never responded to. When my girlfriend arrived, the hotel refused to allow her to check into the room until I arrived, even though the room had already been fully paid for. She was left waiting for around five hours, and we were not able to access the room until approximately 11:00 pm. I understand hotels need to follow security and identification procedures, but this situation could easily have been handled in advance if the hotel had simply responded to my messages or provided a clear process for authorising her to check in. For a hotel charging this level of accommodation, I expected much better communication and customer service. The room was good, but the way this was handled was extremely frustrating and significantly impacted our stay.
