I booked on Hotel.com paid the same amount as our traveling friends They booked directly on the hotel's website, they got a bigger & better room & free breakfast included for entire stay I complained at the front desk They finally gave me free breakfast for one day, no change on the room Hotel said they changed policy for 2026 & no longer include free extras for third party bookings like Hotels.com, Expedia, etc Even though room prices are the same on their website

Super nice staff and great location. Lighting was a problem. Lights not working or no easily identifiable way to turn them on. Need light in shower and overhead light over sink makes it impossible to see properly.

The hotel is very nicely situation in the lower town and close to the water, but not right in the very busy part of lower town. Location wise, we found it nice, but be aware that the way Quebec City is situated, you will most likely need to walk up (or take funicular) to the top of the hill for many activities/dinners/food. You can walk to restaurants and activities in the Old Port as well as in the lower town, but the Chateau Frontenac and old fortifications as well as many restaurants will require a steep walk. The standard room provides a normal size bed (not queen) and a European sized room. This means it can be a bit tight if you have a lot of luggage, but it's definitely bigger than some rooms we've had when in Europe! The bathroom is quite small with the sink outside, but the shower was impressive with multiple showerheads at different levels! Check in was helpful and clear and there was an elevator, although if you don't have luggage or mobility issues, the stairs are not bad.
