Western Inn Marietta - Conveniently Located Inn

What guests think

Reviews of Western Inn Marietta are sharply mixed, with several guests praising clean, basic rooms, helpful staff, and low prices, while many others report serious cleanliness issues, maintenance problems, and concerns about safety in and around the property.

Multiple reviews note roaches or bed bugs, stained linens, smoke smells in nonsmoking rooms, and inconsistent water temperature. Basic amenities are hit-or-miss: broken ice machine, missing TV remotes, noisy AC, weak door locks, and no morning coffee, though some rooms include a fridge and microwave. Staff are frequently described as friendly and accommodating, but some guests faced canceled or delayed check-ins, unanswered phones, and recurring key-card issues. The location is convenient to Truist Park, dining, and highways, yet many felt uneasy due to loitering and late-night activity; expect a budget stay with notable trade-offs.

Acceptable property. Just barely. Floor was not cleaned when I checked in. Some homeless people loitering near the parking lot. There is a McDonald’s nearby for breakfast. A Popeyes chicken across the street. Fridge and microwave in room is definitely a plus. Sorry no morning coffee. Can buy a cup from Convenience store in front ( Shell) For the price, acceptable.

The first room I was given had two bedside lamps that didn't work, no refrigerator, no remote for the TV, and no hangars. The staff was responsive and did change my room. That one had working lamps and a remote. It also had hangars, though none of them matched. There was a fridge, which still had the two (worn/tattered) 'energy' stickers on it. And, the fitting between the shower head and the pipe leaked and sprayed up to the ceiling.

Much to be desired! The entire area around hotel was filthy. The stairs were filthy and so was the floor! This place should be condemned! There was no cold water, the toilet was missing parts. The tv didn’t work…only one channel and remote didn’t work. Couldn’t even lower volume!! The room smelled like cigarette smoke and there was water standing on the floor near the sink.

You get what you pay for. This hotel is disgusting. The nonsmoking rooms smell like smoke. There are burn holes in the comforters. The toilet was broken. The ceiling looked like it had vomit on it. There was hair still in the tub. My eyes are burning from the smoke. I would never set foot in this hotel ever again.

Rooms are simple and somewhat updated in places, adequate for the price, but age shows and noise from other guests or the parking lot can be an issue. Some fixtures are worn or need repair.

It served it's purpose. Walking distance to Truist, the room was clean and, considering the age of the facility, amazingly updated (do please note the disclaimer). HOWEVER, the high homeless people on or near property would be concerning to those other than three males (our group) together. In the parking lot of the motel I saw two disabled junk cars: one with flat tires and the other without tags and the windows broken out (that was just in the area where we parked). But there were also a large number of guest cars that were new and nice which tells me this motel is used for exactly what we we doing: a seriously cheap and decent - inside - motel for an all guys baseball trips. Your wives and/or girlfriends will NOT stay here. Will I do it again as a dude's trip? Sure.

It was fairly clean, with newer flooring. The AC unit had missing buttons, including the on/off button, so it ran always. The temp buttons worked but were severely worn. At least it worked. Everything was pretty basic, but that's what we paid for. The building itself is kinda old and not in great shape, and there was a fair amount of junk around the property. Overall it was ok for the price we paid. Friendly staff!

Stayed for 3 days and 2 nights. The room I got was second floor. Right off the bat the door wasn’t sealed shut so it let in light and hot air throughout the day/night. I had to blast the air to keep the room cool. The sheet I got was so thin and had holes everywhere. The floor was dirty that my socks were sliding. Had to wear my shoes at all times. There were only two outlets. One by the door and one in the bathroom area. The ceiling leaked whenever the shower was turned on. And there was mold on the ceiling because of it. The towels were thin, old and had seen better days. The noise was the worst part. This INN had long term residents and some of who have kids and they congregated at midnight/1am to play basketball with the basketball hoops they have in the parking lot. Screaming and yelling. Got no sleep. Second night there were people coming in and out at ALL hours of the night. The walls are thin so I could hear everything. There were potholes everywhere too. Just no, save your money and go elsewhere.

The room itself was clean and recently updated. The area was convenient as it was just a 20 minute walk to Truist Park but the outside was very run down. It seems like they have made a lot of effort on the inside though. At first thought I would say it's okay enough if you just need a place to sleep but a I was packing up my car to leave I had a stranger approach me and ask me where to buy heavy drugs. Seem to be a lot of long term stays here and I did talk to some of them who were decent folks.

I didn't stay at this property because upon seeing it I felt it was unsafe. I attempted to cancel my reservation by phone calling numerous times the day prior to the date of my check in date and no one answered the calls went to voicemail which was full and couldn't leave a message. I plan on disputing the charges with my credit card company.
