Nice hotel in the middle of downtown Springfield, walking distance to MGM Casino. Across from the Mutual Center and all the beautiful bright lights. Coffee 24 hrs. & very good breakfast. Room was spacious it felt more like a nice studio apartment rather than a hotel room. Didn't like that the parking is away from the property. Parking definitely needs upgrade.

The breakfast was always well stocked, the pool was very comfortable and very clean, the room was clean and the temperature very easy to control, great blackout shades and not at all noisy despite being downtown. Jason at the front desk was incredibly helpful and accommodating. Would happily return!

The Holiday Inn Express in Springfield is right around the corner from the MGM casino in downtown Springfield. The downtown has much to offer with museums and dining within easy walking distance. Our room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was hot and very good. The only thing I didn't care for was the parking arrangement. The free parking was down a side street a block away. Had the weather been bad it would have been a long way to lug suitcases. Also, the lighting to and around the parking could have been better.

Property was nice very clean and staff was definitely attentive and kind. The area which is downtown has limited parking close to the hotel so the offer a lot close by which my car was broken into overnight and my things were trashed which terrified my child upon seeing it the next day.

Nice option for the casino, which is just a three min walk down the road. Parking is free and fairly convenient. Breakfast is also free and decent. My biggest complaint is the elevators. They were very slow and only one was working, which was also used by staff, as there did not appear to be a separate service elevator. This did slow things down and there was a fairly long wait each time we went up and down. Overall, it’s a good value and convenient to downtown.

Great downtown location. Symphony Hall only a 6 minute easy walk away. Friendly check in staff. Self parking up the street, 30 seconds away from the front doors. The elevators however are way too small. Could only fit the luggage cart and 2 people could barely squeeze inside- very strange. That was the only downside. I'd come back in a heartbeat though.

We were happy to be moved to a new room after finding a half smoked joint in ours. The beds were comfy and the shower was nice and warm, with good pressure. The area around the hotel is unsafe. We did not venture out after dark and could hear, see the neighborhood drama from our window. Luckily, we ordered food to be delivered, and the hotel has a nice eating area near the lobby. It satisfied our needs for 1 night, and it was close to the Basketball Hall of Fame for the next morning. Then… leave Springfield! Not much else was going on beside the Hall of Fame. Better off exploring the area beyond the city!!

The room was spacious beds were comfortable they had extra pillows and blanket. Bathroom was nice liked the soap and shower dispensers. Breakfast was good with choices. The only negative was the hot water in the shower didn’t last

I selected this particular hotel because it had a 3PM check in which is one hour earlier than the surrounding hotels. We were there for a cheer competition and had a 4:30 team meet time at the Mass Mutual Center which was right next door. Even though I had called twice earlier in the morning and was informed that they had several people check out, our room was not ready. In fact our room was not even ready until after 4:00. ONE HOUR after check in. Personally, I find this to be unacceptable considering I selected the hotel because of the check in time. After we got back to the room, my daughter showered and said there was no hot water. I thought maybe she was exaggerating or maybe many people were showering at that time and hot water was running out. NOPE, I showered at 6AM and there literally was one minute of warm water. Prior to writing this review I emailed management and called and left a message. Unfortunately, I have not heard back from anyone. I honestly believe there should be some financial compensation considering I paid well over $300 for this room when I could have paid much less and less aggravation elsewhere.

The young lady at the counter who registered us was professional and extremely helpful. However, your wait staff and cleaning crew were loud and unprofessional especially in the Front Lobby. It sounded like my husband and I entered a loud room w/ unprofessional and uneducated housekeepers talking and laughing loudly in the LOBBY!!!. (2 females) I was thoroughly surprised and I was put off by their behavior and unprofessionalism. It was unacceptable. The gentleman that worked @ the front desk @ night was professional as well as the maintenance man and the other gentleman that was working as a housekeeper.

The woman who handled our check in was downright unwelcoming. Stared at her computer screen for a minute before acknowledging we were standing there. And we were the only ones in line. She carried on with a real attitude during the rest of the check in.

The shower head burst, I sent a request to the front desk to come fix it, also to provide toiletry supply, nothing was done. On the last day we didn’t even have shower soap. I demand a credit because of the poor service I received. Windows were not noise proof, we could hear all the noise from outside. Breakfast had very poor quality.

Clean rooms, amazing water pressure in the shower, and the perfectly centralized location. My only complaint is that there are people mulling around at all hours of the night, making us a little nervous about leaving our car parked down the street. It was fine though, and they even overnighted some keys to me that I left in the room after our trip.

My stay here was wonderful and pleasant and the staff were phenomenal! They smiled, they asked how I was doing, they said hi, they spoke I really felt welcome at this location. I will absolutely stay here again on my next trip to Springfield.

**One star. Not suitable for families.** This hotel is in a tough area. Directly across the narrow street is a CBD/weed shop, and the smell wafts into the lobby—very unpleasant. There’s loitering in the area, especially near the parking areas, which made us feel unsafe leaving our car overnight. Not a relaxing or family-friendly environment at all. We won’t be back.

Must know before you go: hotel rooms are updated and really nice. Very close to MGM you can actually see the hotel as it is only 0.2 miles away. The big down side is really an area issue. Walked out of MGM to gang members and homeless individuals right on the property. People fighting and gangs yelling out car windows. No police or security the second you step outside. My wife and I considered having to call an uber for the 0.2mile walk which is absolutely insane. But when theres overt gang paraphernalia on multiple individuals impeading your walk down the side walk it makes you think twice. Ultimately had to walk around the building to a lite alley and go through the back to avoid the crowd. Springfield and MGM really dropped the ball on safety the second you go outside the casino. When we finally made it to the hotel the hotel doors were locked for safety. However, the hotel card key didnt open the door and we had to use the speaker phone to get someones attention which leaves people extremely voulnerable to the individuals behind you on the street. If you go with a big group i dont think this would be an issue but my wife and I are in our early thirties and left for an uncomfortable nightcap

Not in a safe area. My belongings in the car was robber after parking in the holiday inn parking lot. After hearing about this incident from me, the staff was very unconcerned about this incident. I will never go back to this place again.

The breakfast spread was disappointing. The pre-made omelets were poor. No scrambled eggs? I usually take scrambled eggs and make a breakfast sandwich with an English muffin. Can't do that with a prefab omelet. Cereal choice was granola, granola or granola and with 2% milk the dairy "of choice", meaning no choice at all. Coffee station: Coffee Mate is non-dairy coffee whitener ( it's own description). Shelf-stable cream is available. Other guests along with myself opened the 2% milk and used that in our coffee, with staff frowning at us. Breakfast is easy to do "right", and it is just as easy to do "wrong". You chose poorly. That was what made my stay only "OK".

Staff was friendly and helpful, even allowed me to borrow a plug for my phone. I needed a plug because the rooms do not have USB charging ports. The room and bathroom were spotless. The beds had pillowcases indicating if it was soft or firm. Parking was in a lot across the street from the property. Hotel was less than a 3 minute walk from MGM Springfield. The complimentary breakfast served in the lobby area was lacking to say the least. Dry cereal, rubbery hard boiled eggs, premade and microwaved omelets, turkey sausage patties and pork link sausage and mini muffins. No pancakes, waffles, bacon or oatmeal.
