Tide’s Inn has a wonderful outdoor space with a BBQ area, a large sofa with bright turquoise cushions, all under cover and a cozy fire pit table, if needed! It also has some lovely tables and chairs for outdoor gathering and even a hanging chaise lounger for curling up with a good book or simply relaxing! It was a wonderful retreat from everyday busyness!

Room was clean, beds were comfortable, tv etc all worked. Close to the beach, but the path down was pretty rough. The free minigolf was great. The staff were great, very friendly and helpful. Cons - parking was an issue if there are too many trucks. People smoking pot by the roadside were annoying, the smell keeps being blown towards the hotel. The room could do with some more clothes hooks and a bigger mirror. But overall, very happy with our stay.

I was a bit taken back by this place, as we expected more for the price point. The lady who checked us in was nice, but the room was not up to acceptable cleaning standards. The bathtub had a couple of dead bugs in it upon arrival, The hand soap was watered down so bad, I had to get my own soap for handwashing. On the first night, we were going to sit outside in the gazebo and bbq area, however the garbage bins were right beside this area of the building and they were overflowing with garbage, and I mean overflowing. The two bins were completely full and there were garbage bags all around the bins. The garbage bags on the ground had actually been torn open, most likely by rodents. For our entire stay, we slept on top of the blankets and I barely slept, because I felt like my skin was crawling. I could not wait to get out of that room. The only good thing about this place is the free mini golf across the street: This was way overpriced. The parking lot is also a nightmare if you have a truck.

Staff were very accommodating. They supplied us with plates and cutlery so we could barbeque our own dinner. Nice area with fire pits. The shower in our room was terrible. There was a hot and a cold tap. You could not regulate the temperature. It was either scalding hot or cold. It was just enough room to stand in. You couldn’t even get away from the water when it was scorching hot. Walkable distance to ocean which was nice.

Conveniently located close to the beach and next to a Parksville mini-golf institution, it's been there so long, The Tide's Inn is exceedingly clean, recently redecorated so it's now possibly considered "vintage retro', and affordable. Rooms have the basic amenities, and the beds and pillows are truly comfortable. The staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful. However, and despite the exterior cinder block construction, the building is from pre-1975, and the walls between the units thin. Traffic from the highway alongside the motel was notable throughout the night. A young couple were in the room behind mine and I could hear almost every word of their conversations - and I definitely knew what they were watching on tv. After having a shower in the early morning, I could hear them complaining about the noise of the fan and water running. BUT, not everyone is sensitive to sound. If you are inclined to sleep with ear plugs, this isn't the place for you (I had to use earplugs *and* a white noise machine). If you're lucky enough to be able to sleep thru neighbours talking and traffic noise, this is a great little motel to stay at.

The back where our room was had patio tables available for each unit which was most appreciated. And it was quiet, the motel, as are many of the accommodations, is located on a highway that is quite noisy. My only complaint is that the lights on the fence were on the entire night and the blinds didn’t keep the light from getting into the room, that kept me awake for some time. Photo is of my Yorkshire Terrier Watson, he slept just fine!..

I was pleasantly pleased with The Tide's Inn. The room was "Cozy", perfect for myself. I was there to attend my Father's Funeral. The room was updated and clean. I would however ask that they wash the Window. I did enjoy the walk over to the RV area to sit at the picnic Tables and enjoyed the View of Parksville Beach. The access down to the Beach may need some attention as I did not find it very assessable for those with any mobility issues. Right beside the Tide's Inn was The Bayside Resort, which has a Wonderful Happy Hour, great patio and view, you can access via an open Gate.

Location was good, very near "to the beach" (featured promenantly on the main property sign). However the trail to the beach and stairs (and wheelchair ramp) seem to have been destroyed in a storm and never rebuilt making beach access difficult. No bedside lights in this room. Many sloppy repairs obvious: bathroom sink broken and glued together with caulking; airconditioner directional controls for airflow were completely missing; parts of three locks were on the room door, our key (yes KEY) opened one; the ceiling has had a huge area obviously replaced (looking at the attempt to match the popcorn would be funny if not so tragic). Room had an obvious silverfish infestation.

Property although older has been renovated. Lovely and clean with comfortable beds. They have outdoor seating and even a BBQ if you are so inclined. No restaurant on property but great restaurant on adjoining property Bay Hotel. Also a coffee shop at mini golf next door. Staff were amazingly nice and efficient. Check in and out easy. Good restaurants near by. I would recommend this small hotel which is reasonably priced.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating! Tide’s Inn is a prime location, close to the beach and the town and just a short drive to many tourist attractions! Great to have free mini golf next door! They’re such beautiful courses! The units have been nicely renovated and I love the inclusion of a small kitchenette so you can prepare a meal or two without leaving the premises! I do, however, miss the breakfast they used to offer as part of the stay. It was such a great start to the day! My niece and I always looked forward to the arcade to earn tickets and win prizes but the format changed this year and there are no longer any prizes! Some machines were out of order but I’m sure it’s a hard thing to maintain. The room prices per night have increased significantly since last year but that’s true everywhere, I suppose! The staff did a truly excellent job making us feel welcome (free coffee or tea and popcorn in the lobby) and were on hand for any eventuality! We had a great holiday!
