This place was so nice- we will absolutely be back. The lobby/downstairs was very pleasant and had a nice, warm, calm vibe. The staff was kind, warm, and accommodating. Everything was great. Always a nice fire in the fireplace, nice table to eat on, comfy places to hang, lots of games, an electric piano and community fridge. It was an awesome place to bring our 4 year old and relax after bedtime. FYI, you might have a shared bathroom by floor (in case you care.) The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars in cleanliness is because our floor dearly needed vacuuming- all kinds of odd things from past inhabitants under the bed. The beds, bathroom, linens etc were all perfectly clean. Again, this is a nice, affordable place.

Fun stay at a very affordable rate. I have stayed here multiple times and enjoy meeting other skiers. I like the open living area with comfortable chairs, couches, and fireplace.

This was such a cozy lodge! They provided a complimentary breakfast with plenty of pastries, bread, coffee, water, orange juice & cereal. It was super convenient that breakfast was ready by 6:30am, which was perfect timing for us to eat before hitting the slopes by 8am! This is a shared lodge, so there is a main room on the first floor with large tables & couches in front of a fireplace where you can lounge & mingle with others. Just a heads up, if you don't want to share a bathroom, make sure to reserve the "private bath" upon booking!

The place was unstaffed and felt miserably lonely. The lack of hot water and heating at night made it even more uncomfortable. After staying for 2 nights, I was relocated to a different place instead of being allowed to stay for another 2 nights as I had hoped.

Overall my stay was good and for the cost an excellent value for money. My only real criticism is the water does take a long time to get warm so if you are planning to have a shower make sure you turn the water on to heat up well in advance.

This property is a ski lodge and once you understand that, its great! Its an older place that maximizes space for sleeping. Theres a large common area with lots of comfy seating, a piano and a huge fireplace. Breakfast was typical continental style, coffee was good and the hostess was interesting and informative. Our room was small as was the bathroom but it was totally adequate!

It's a great place for hardcore skiers to crash. The front desk manager (Mrs. Robinson) was great. The Boy Scouts were a little loud and had to arm wrestle 12-year-olds for breakfast - but that added to the fun atmosphere of this old-school lodge. Loved the knotty pine walls. We'll be back.

We stayed 2 nights on Thanksgiving we were visiting family nearby. TOTR served our needs perfectly! It was clean, warm and friendly. Not fancy, not expensive at all, we just slept there. It was a mile from my brother's house. I forgot my ice/snow brush for the car and by morning, we had several inches on the ground. The woman at the front desk loaned me a broom and even ran out to help me clean the car. It was a great stay, I am glad we found Turn of the River.

This place has seen better days. No matter how clean the owner keeps it. It has seen thousands of people and is worn out. The walls are paper thin and no matter how much Febreeze is sprayed, each room has a different odor. I am sure that skiers appreciate the affordability and the group atmosphere . but I don’t know who else could appreciate it…

The stay here was unfortunately masked with a febreeze smell from the minute we walked in the door. Makes us wonder what are they trying to cover up? The bed was incredibly comfortable & room was very clean. The uneven height in the stairs needed to access inside the front door & upstairs would be difficult, if you had mobility issues.

Rustic, simple, no frills ski lodge. Very friendly staff, solid breakfast and clean rooms. If you’re in town to ski, golf, or get out in the mountains, its a good option to save some dough and still be near everything.

The description of the room lists a bathroom but does not indicate that it is a SHARED bathroom. The bed was hard as a rock. The lights outside shone so bright it was like daylight in the room at night. There was someone watch TV until 2 in the morning. I got no sleep. The share bathroom was dirty and no one cleaned it over the weekend. I hope I never have to stay there again.

Very friendly staff. Be aware that most rooms don’t have private baths. You share the bathrooms with other rooms on the same floor. Rooms are very small. Make sure you request a room with private bath if that’s important to you. Nice lobby area to hang out in, because there were no chairs in our rooms.

I loved that this was a traditional Vermont ski lodge. It\'s definitely not fancy, the walls are thin, but it is so "Vermont". I loved that the downstairs had a living room with games and magazines, making it very social for those who want to be social. If you want the ski lodge aura, this is the place to stay!

The property is just a 2 min drive from the Killington gondola. I rented a separate room. The room was clean and across the hall from the bathroom. A light continental breakfast was provided. There is a communal fridge and a microwave. Best part of lodge is community room with comfy seating and a large fireplace. There is a booknook area with a small library for quiet reading on the third floor. This is a no frills lodge with a great location and a fun atmosphere.

Make no mistake, these accomodations are pretty basic. Room was small - barely fit the bed and room to walk around it. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Smallest shower stall I have ever seen. Price was very reasonable. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was the typical bagels/muffins/oatmeal/coffee variety. Road noise if you left the windows open due to proximity to US-4. Lots of board games to play in common area.

very nice lodge. the owner live there and make sure everything run smoothly. Simple breakfast but enough for a very good start of the day. love the share Livingroom with huge fireplace and everyone super friendly. many board game to finish the evening. Only 10mn drive to Killington resort main parking K1 and plenty of restaurant around.

Awesome stay. Very Cozy and close to Killington and many trails . Staff was very helpful suggesting trails at our skill level and best places to park.

Thank you Audrey for the warm welcome!! It's a beautiful lodge with the river across the road and beautiful tree filled hillside. Audrey was so friendly to start a fire outside and visited with us. She made us feel right at home. It's very clean and homey. I recommend you stay here if you can it's well worth it!!

This is a revised review. Audrey was extremely accommodating during our entire visit. We had a minor problem with check in but she resolved the issue to our satisfaction. TRL met all of our needs with clean and friendly atmosphere. The breakfast far exceeded expectations with fresh pastry and baked goods. We have been visitors for over 30 years and look forward to our next visit. Eddie & Debby

We stayed 2 nights on Thanksgiving we were visiting family nearby. TOTR served our needs perfectly! It was clean, warm and friendly. Not fancy, not expensive at all, we just slept there. It was a mile from my brother's house. I forgot my ice/snow brush for the car and by morning, we had several inches on the ground. The woman at the front desk loaned me a broom and even ran out to help me clean the car. It was a great stay, I am glad we found Turn of the River.

The lack of "hospitality" from the greeter was off-putting. Expecting much more, e.g. "cozy breakfast" was promised - then told that breakfast was "cereal, toast, and coffee". Third floor walk-up, no elevator. Steep stairs, small room, limited towels, soap, etc. Tiny stall shower. No cups for drinking, no facial tissues, Broken handles on the one dresser, tiny TV (not the HD TV promised). No heat control - too hot - then no screen in window. Generally a huge disappointment for a room of this price. We left at dawn after the first night. Looking for a refund!!

Chose to go to Vermont at the last minute with a friend, After getting frustrated trying to pick a place to stay I choose "The Turn of River Lodge:". It turned out to be a great choice! The lodging is centrally located, the atmosphere was great being able to share stories with other travelers and most of the people I met were return visitors from the skiing season!

This was such a cozy lodge! They provided a complimentary breakfast with plenty of pastries, bread, coffee, water, orange juice & cereal. It was super convenient that breakfast was ready by 6:30am, which was perfect timing for us to eat before hitting the slopes by 8am! This is a shared lodge, so there is a main room on the first floor with large tables & couches in front of a fireplace where you can lounge & mingle with others. Just a heads up, if you don't want to share a bathroom, make sure to reserve the "private bath" upon booking!

Make no mistake, these accomodations are pretty basic. Room was small - barely fit the bed and room to walk around it. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Smallest shower stall I have ever seen. Price was very reasonable. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was the typical bagels/muffins/oatmeal/coffee variety. Road noise if you left the windows open due to proximity to US-4. Lots of board games to play in common area.

The lights outside shone so bright it was like daylight in the room at night. There was someone watch TV until 2 in the morning. I got no sleep.
