What guests think

Across recent reviews, Motel Champlain is praised for very clean, freshly renovated rooms and friendly, efficient service, with many guests describing quiet stays and a convenient location suited to short visits and good value for the price.

Some note that the exterior looks dated compared with the interior. A few mention thin walls and occasional noise between rooms, and a couple found the property hard to spot from the road. Expect a straightforward, modernized roadside stay focused on practicality over extras.

Stayed 1 night

We were very disappointed with this property. We booked it because it did have good reviews. Upon arriving I could tell the unit we had was recently updated. It was vey clean. But it was very bare bones, only one night table on one side of the bed, no lamps, no alarm clock, no phone, no soap for the shower. Not long after settling in for the night I could hear commotion outside our room. There were several people outside the room next to us talking loudly and arguing about something. It went on for a while, then suddenly we saw cop cars outside. The people were then arguing with the cops. We then counted 8 police cars out there. They ended up taking some of them away. It did get quiet after that, but made for a sleepless night.

At first glance, the motel appeared a bit old and gloomy. However, the staff were very helpful, and both check-in and check-out were quick and efficient. The rooms were very clean and appeared to be freshly renovated. If the exterior matched the interior, it would definitely enhance the motel’s overall appeal. It’s a great place to spend a couple of days, located in a relatively safe and quiet area. Despite being on a main street, traffic noise wasn’t an issue. However, you can hear other guests talking or even snoring through the walls. That said, I experienced no major issues and would stay at this motel again.

A nice clean motel room with lots of room! Great location as its close to many good restaurants and it's only a block away from the river. My only recommendation is to have a small dresser, there is certainly enough space to have one! I highly recommend this motel.
