Clean, comfortable room and pleasant staff. Excellent bed and shower. Dove Toiletries were provided. The breakfast was ok. Good selection of bread and cereal. Pancakes, scrambles eggs, potato and sausage both mornings. The only fruit offered was apples, which was disappointing to me.

One of the reasons we decided to stay at this hotel was because there’s an on-site restaurant advertised and our trip is gonna be very busy. When we tried to go to the restaurant, we discovered there is not a restaurant on site. It also says there is a lounge that’s open Tuesday to Saturday. that is actually only open Fridays and Saturdays! This is such a strange thing to advertise if you do not have an operational restaurant or lounge! We let them know they need to update the website both on Hotels.com and their own website and they didn’t care at all.

When we booked we paid for a king bed suite. When we went to the room it was a queen. After waiting at the front desk to discuss this - the front desk said they would talk to housekeeping about the size of the bed. After an hour he called to confirm what we told him - and he offered us a room with two queens. At this point we were tired and it was too late to move. In the morning the new front desk person confirmed it was an error in the computer. The manager would call us to fix. I didn’t hear from them today. The breakfast was pretty good.

The Grand Hotel (Royal Hotel) is a good place to stay, especially for business. Room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I will certainly stay here again when I come back to Calgary.
