Upon arrival we found that there was an additional $140 non-refundable resort fee plus the $50 refundable miscellaneous fee. Self parking was $58 and a block away. Valet parking was $78. That was per 24 hours. Ice was located on every 5-10 floors, not our floor. And for a hotel with well over 30 floors, they had only 2 small elevators!

Well I decided to stay there because I had out patient surgery at Northwestern Hospital nearby and had an appointment the next morning. But honestly I was a little disappointed for a number reasons. First the hotel lobby restaurant was closed. However the restaurant on the 29th floor was good and the bartender was EXTREMELY nice and accommodating! The room’s electrical outlets by the bed were next to impossible to access, so I had to charge my phone across the room which was inconvenient. Lastly there were no vending machines where you could by a late night snack, and there was no one manning the front desk. Not very professional.

Everything was great, the bar and rooftop lounge was amazing with great atmosphere. Only negative thing about the stay, was the hotel door wouldn’t shut all the way if you didn’t slam it shut. And being on the top floor 28th, it took 20+ mins to get an empty elevator down at check out time.

Hotel is very nice BUT a couple of notes: - It was advertised to have a restaurant and it was not open - Valet Parking not available at 11pm to drop off my truck. Tried the to other option recommended around the corner and they wouldn’t take my Tahoe because of it’s height… ended up parking across de street in Public Parking lot for $56 a night… why not negotiate a preferred rate with public parking lot across the street rather than offer non-existen valetts?!?! -$129 for a bag of 3 waters and 3 cokes ?

it should be noted that this is not a 4 star hotel. i spoke with the operations manager after expressing disappointment with my stay (no wifi, no working TVs, no room servicing, hotel bar is closed, rooftop is closed, minimal amenities, couldn't even get food delivered to my door) and he told me that, in spite of the listing on hotels.com, this is not a 4 star hotel. false advertising, poor service, uncomfortable stay. you're better off elsewhere.

Beautiful rooms. Comfy and fun - well designed- superb art, great use of space. Sky deck is lovely! Gym is abundant with various equipment and well designed with use of space to provide illusion of light and space. Great desk staff!! Very very clean. Halls are not overly air conditioned - unusual and fabulous!!!

Nice room, nice view, valet service was great. There was a lot of confusion from not only us, but other guests as well, in navigating the hotel. No clear signage on how to get to breakfast and elevators are confusing as they access different areas of the hotel.

The charges show a resort fee but there is no resort. i didn’t see even a pool. there was a small gym next to a coffee shop that stayed closed. on top of that the shower was a little one with no room to get out of the way of the cold water when you first turn it on. Also they had the soap dispenser in the shower but no soap in it and don’t forget it’s there because backing into it will hurt.No in room coffee maker or microwave or anything else you would expect that has a fee the was more than half the nightly rate and the parking was costly. as they don’t have their own garage dollars a night.

Loved the hotel! The staff was friendly. The rooms were clean. The only issue we had was really long lines at check-in. There was only one lady checking people in, and she was going as quickly as she could.

The location was perfect—right in the heart of the city and in a safe area—but unfortunately, that was the hotel’s only real advantage. While the breakfast was good and complimentary bottles of water were provided daily, the positives ended there. The room itself was extremely old and worn out. Housekeeping only came once every three days, which was far from ideal. It was so dirty in our bathroom by day 3 and no garbage removal... To top it off, when we ordered a cocktail at the bar, the ice had a distinctly unpleasant taste. Overall, the prime location was what saved our stay, but everything else fell short.

The room was a little outdated, the AC wasn’t adjustable, and our toilet didn’t work very well our toilet was fixed fairly quickly after letting the front receptionist know. The views from our room/rooftop were beautiful! The location of the hotel was perfect and close to local tourist attractions! Can’t wait to book again in the future.

The room was clean, and spacious. The shower was REALLY big for some reason. Rooms AC/Heat worked properly and had no issues with any of the facilities. The staff was MORE than friendly and helpful. There were only a few things that were a little off. You do have to valet your car. It took a decent amount of time. Wish it would have been faster. We did run out of TP towards the last day (4 day stay). And there were fees that I had to learn about not during the purchasing process. Which was tough, but luckily I found out before hand and was prepared for when we got there.

This hotel is in a convenient and walkable area of Chicago and it was very easy to get a cab. The room was clean and modern. But we weren’t really happy with our overall experience. We arrived early before our room was ready. The hotel staff said they would call me when our room was ready but they never did. I had a presentation to give and needed to use their business center because my room wasn’t ready. Totally understandable. However, the business center was a closet type room that would only fit one person. Thankfully it was available. When I went back to the desk and asked to check in, I was informed their was an additional $215 charge that was for 6 bottles of water, use of wifi and the gym. It was not optional. I felt that truly unfair. I didn’t need the wifi and had no want to use the gym. It was ridiculous. And then we found out they didn’t even clean rooms on a daily basis. It we wanted our trash removed, it would be an extra charge. So we had to sit with empty food containers from our takeout in our room all weekend. I will say the beds were comfy by the room was hot. The air was set to 75 and you weren’t allowed to adjust it. We will not be going back there for our next trip to Chicago.

The lobby has a cool vibe. Friendly staff. Our room was incredibly loud and shook from the HVAC (I think). It kept us up all night as even the beds moved. I noted similar noise where the breakfast was served. The breakfast was quite nice.

Before retiring, I was a frequent business traveler to Chicago. I generally stayed in name branded hotels near the federal courthouse. I did not need to be in that area on this trip, so I chose CHC. What a pleasant surprise. The room was very spacious. The bathroom/shower was great. It was quiet, both internally (did not hear anything from hallway or adjoining rooms) and externally (no street noise). Overall, the room was much, much nicer than the "better brands" where I usually stayed, and the cost was considerably lower. I will definitely go back next trip to Chicago.

I recently stayed at the Chicago Hotel and was extremely disappointed by the front desk service. When I went to check out, I approached the desk to let them know that my key wasn’t working. Instead of assisting me respectfully, the older Asian woman at the front desk (who wasn’t even wearing a name tag) was incredibly rude and condescending. She dismissed me immediately and said, “Next time, wait in the line,” in a tone that was completely uncalled for—especially since I was already a paying guest. She then threw the replacement keys across the counter without a word and immediately moved on to help the next customer, ignoring me completely. Her behavior was unprofessional and disrespectful, and it left a very negative impression. I sincerely hope the hotel takes this kind of poor customer service seriously and makes the necessary changes. This is also a in response to Michael ward supposedly an operations manager that did not acknowledge my concern but was dismissive Michael, While I understand the importance of not interrupting staff who are assisting another guest, that was not the issue here. I did not interrupt anyone—I waited my turn and approached the desk respectfully. The problem was the way I was treated once it was my turn. I was dismissed with a condescending tone, told “next time, wait in the line” when I had already done so, and had my replacement key thrown across the counter without a single word of courtesy. That is not acceptable customer service.

Hotel near MagMile was ok HOWEVER the staff never responded to any expedia messages and early check in was a complete waste of time. I checked in through expedia and via a text from their hotel all for nothing 12 hours before other then to be charged twice for the security deposit. Room was not available when we arrived at 1pm. We left to eat and shop and never received any response through expedia and never received a text to the cell phone # i left at check in. I called from restaurant and was told they were behind and room probably not ready till 5pm. We returned at 4pm and sat in the lobby waiting for our room to be available. My daughter closed her eyes at one point and a staff member woke her up with a pillow telling her "dis is a hotel, you cant sleep here" I didn't see this interaction because i was at the front desk asking AGAIN if my room was ready and probably would have strangled the rude foreigner. This idiot should be fired immediately and has no reason to be working at a hotel or speaking to customers on vacation. IF WE HAD OUR ROOM WE WOULDNT HAVE TO SIT IN THE LOBBY WITH OUR LUGGAGE AND CLOSE OUR EYES WAITING FOR THE HOTEL TO CLEAN THE ROOM WE PAID FOR!!! Ive stayed in Chicago over a hundred times throughout my life and this was the single worst experience by far for myself and my children. I would not recommend staying at this hotel that clearly does not appreciate your business or know how to accommodate it's guests properly. So many other options.

This hotel would be so much better if it wasn’t understaffed. I had to wait at least 10 minutes any time I needed something at the front desk and they rarely answered the phone. Extremely frustrating. Valet was also super slow and the front desk had to call someone every time you dropped off or picked up a car. I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again.

Attempted to contact the property on 8 occasions to make a room request prior to arrival. Started the process a full 3 months prior and never heard from them. I emailed, text (their “preferred method”), and called several times. Nobody ever returned my messages. Room was ok but will never stay here again due to poor customer service.

Quite easily the worst hotel I’ve stayed in, and as a platinum member I’ve stayed in a lot. Staff here couldn’t care less if you were there or not, at best they ignore you and at worst they downright rude. The local charges are a rip off - even though I knew about them in advance - it basically gets you a few bottles of water. The only positive about this place is the location, and the room was a reasonable size…other than that this hotel is now on my black list.

My wife and I stayed here for over a week due to our son being in the hospital nearby. The staff was amazing. They let us know about a discounted room rate for hospital guests. The location of the hotel is ideal for this, but also would be great for people visiting Chicago. Its steps away from great food and shopping right in the heart of the city.

Well placed near Michigan Avenue. Our room was comfortable, the pillows wonderfully soft. It would be nice if the rooms had a kettle and coffee maker though. Rooms had soap and hair shampoo and conditioner , but no body lotion---not sure why. Buffet breakfast was excellent. We had not realized that we needed to pay a resort fee, so that took us by surprise.

Room was perfect for a one night stay. Staff was friendly. We enjoyed our cocktail and actually had dinner there. We ordered pizza, burger and empanadas, it was all very well made and tasty. The food prices were great.

The property has a great location. The cleaning staff did not come one time during our stay Thursday-Sunday. The front desk staff has a tough job because they must field complaints all day long about the “resort fee” that “promises all kinds of benefits” …truth is they force this fee and provide you w 3 bottled waters and 3 cans of soda. The bar is closed and so is the “cafe” in the images and has been since Covid yet it is advertised as an amenity. They do not give you the gift cards for $25 per night. Also, they say you get a “discount” on city pass —didn’t see that either. Location is super convenient. Beds are fine. Pillow are terrible. Front desk staff has one nice gentleman —the rest were totally miserable and texting or using their phones often. Never pleasant (except for the one guy) Don’t recommend.

I love the whole ambience! Everyone is very helpful, kind and ready to assist you! The free drink, breakfast and dinner cards our nice! Give you instant good hospitality from the start. Nice seating area with a bar and you can order food. This might be my go-to hotel to stay when I'm in the city back visiting! Thank-You!

Employee we dealt with was rude and dismissive. We were over-charged for undisclosed fees. Facilities were not open (bar/coffee). No shampoo/conditioner/daily cleaning. Great location. Def a budget hotel with an exorbitant cost of $487.99 USD/night. Would not recommend.
