Terrible Parking Experience and Unjustified Fees We stayed at Hyatt Regency Chicago and were extremely disappointed — especially with the parking situation. The hotel’s website mentions that self-parking is available, but in reality, it was either not functioning or completely mismanaged. The QR code provided didn’t work, and it was impossible to pay for regular parking near the hotel. On top of that, the woman working there was rude, unhelpful, and clearly had no idea how to assist guests properly. Because of this mess, we were forced to use valet parking, which cost a ridiculous $87 per night — and we were left with no real choice. There was no warning, no apology, and certainly no offer of compensation. It felt like complete chaos, and the staff made zero effort to help resolve anything. To make matters worse, we were also charged a $24 “destination fee”, supposedly for water and internet, which were clearly stated as included in our booking. This is simply dishonest. For just one night, the final cost with all the hidden fees was absolutely absurd. It honestly feels like this hotel is just trying to squeeze every possible dollar out of guests. The prices are outrageous, the customer service is nonexistent, and the staff at the parking area were downright disrespectful. The issue was never resolved, and we were denied a refund for the valet parking we never wanted in the first place. Would not recommend. For these prices, the service is a joke.

The rate of $267 was way too high for this hotel. There was no spa, no glasses in the bathroom, no luggage rack, refrigerator did not work, out dated bathroom with a tub. For this type of rate I am used to much more modern hotels downtown. But Hyatt Regency was NOT worth it. Just an average hotel with a downtown address.

Beautiful property. The entire hotel staff was very welcoming. The location is perfect, on the river. The view from the room was stunning. The river and the lake. The room was modern looking, exceptionally clean and the AC was perfect for the summer weather. The bar was a nice place to grab a drink. The steak house had amazing food and exceptional service. Definitely a hotel I would go back to when visiting Chicago.

When I first checked in, the yellow chaise had some yellow stain that was removed by myself with tissues(I still don't know what it is) and the toilet sink had coffee stains. The coffee machine had only one disposal cup. Overall cleaning seemed rushed and not so clean. The stay itself was pretty nice. Staff were friendly. Great location.

It was the perfect location for St. Patrick's Day weekend. The hotel was beautiful with a gorgeous view. The bar had some really fun drinks! Only complaint is that there were stains on our comforters and sheets in our room... Other than that everything else seemed clean.

Soon as we were checked in at the front desk, manager walked up to us, shook our hand and said he apologized cause the room we booked wasn’t available. He then said that he upgraded our room to the top floor with a better view and no extra cost. Friendly staff, modern/clean rooms. Will definitely stay here again.

Great location. Staff nice. Only issue was that it was loud. Housekeeping was loud in the hallways and they entered our room on 2 out of the 3 mornings before 10 am and while we were still in the room. Including on the day we checked out.

What I like about this property was to be near all touristic places in Downtown Chicago. What I didn't like was the sudden closings in dining options in the hotel without notice. It made you change plans and lose the $25 discount on restaurant after 5 pm.

We were asked if we wanted our room serviced everyday, we said yes. Not once during our 3 night stay did we recieve service. We ran out of tp and towels. Front desk sent someone a few hours after we called for items. Hotel restaurants either closed or didn't have any food options available. There was hair in my food and the waiter was aggravated we showed him (still intact in food). Overall wouldn't recommend this hotel or the food regardless of the $25 discount.
