Tunnel Mountain Resort is a refreshing place to have base camp while you fully explore the beautiful area in and around Banff. The check in process was quick and they give you a lot of information and bus passes. The parking is pretty good; most days we were within steps of our door. We didn't use the bus this time, but it is super convenient and those busses go everywhere!! Don't try to drive in Banff if you can help it. The auto and foot traffic is overwhelming. The room is a great size and we loved the balcony in the evenings. The kitchen is a must-have! We made sandwiches for lunches while exploring. Kept our dining bill down. Note - IGA is a MADHOUSE! Just expect to not be able to get to items without waiting for someone to move (slowly). The beds was the only weak spot for us. The king bed had definitely seen better days and was quite broken down. You can see where each side bottomed out. There was also a queen bed which was less used. We were usually so tired, we slept okay. I'd like to see more layers of lighting. The lights are pretty golden Edison bulbs, but at our age, I need more overall brighter room light and task lighting (like over the bathroom sink). The noise is not a problem, even being between a busy road and parking. They have two levels of shades on the balcony windows and doors which was a NICE touch. We always use a sound machine anyway, just in case. The table & chairs were perfect and we used them often. We would love to come back!!!

Our cabin could have been cleaner! The bathroom floor was dirty especially around the baseboards. The brick walkway was missing lots of bricks therefore making it unsafe to walk on, especially at night! Lights are full of dust...I would give it a 5 out of 10

Great location. Pet friendly. The stairs to access our chalet were rock steps, but there were no railings so was very difficult to go down at times. I do not recommend for anyone with mobility issues.

We were travelling with a toddler, and I felt like the facilities were just too worn out and not clean. Views from the cabin were disappointing (trees were blocking the view of the mountains) so maybe ask about which way your cabin is facing. Amenities and equipment were very well stocked so the place is probably better for a group of adults.
