At Best Western Plus Orillia Hotel, travelers consistently praise the friendly, helpful staff and generally clean, spacious rooms, while recurring drawbacks include dated decor, inconsistent mattress comfort, and ongoing amenity issues such as a long-closed hot tub.

The location is convenient for Casino Rama, with a well used shuttle and walking or biking trails nearby. Breakfast feedback is mixed: some enjoy a hot buffet, while others report limited refills, cold items, or confusion about whether it is included. Overall, it suits travelers seeking convenience over full amenities and modern style.

Room was good. Very small shower with low ceilings in the bathroom. Hot tub was not functioning and the gym was the afterthought type. Bed had ruts so you were stuck in a spot. Sheets and towels were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise as it said continental but it actually had everything and then some. Coffee was weak, make coffee in the room and bring it for fresh milk/cream if needed.

The hotel offered a shuttle service to & from Casino Rama for the concert. The shuttle driver brought you right to the main door of the auditorium. You didn't have to worry about driving yourself or taking a taxi.

The hotel and room were fine, but the fridge made a lot of noise. The toilet was dripping all night didn't flush propely - you had to hold the handle down. I let the front desk know. None of these were a big deal. Parking was very tight as the hotel was fully booked. Breakfast is no longer included. They have replaced the brekfast buffet with a small ala carte menu. Very limited choices. Service was good but the food was absolutely terrible. We had modifed avocado toast (no egg, cheese or potato latke) and they added some fruit. Fruit tasted like it had been cut several daya before and left to dry. The avocado toast was bland, yet somehow managed to peave me feeling ill all day. Never eating there again.

Disappointed that the Hot Tub was closed down for maintenance, why not offer discount in this case? Advertise "full breakfast available" was misleading, I thought it was included especially for the price charged. $675 for a two nights stay in November seems a little excessive for a basic hotel room with two queen beds.

First impression on our two queensize bed, room (#222) was nice. In the morning I wanted to use the keurig coffee maker, but the intense dust on the top of it took my fancy, than I relized the top of the brown headboards were gray from the deposited of dust as well! Really needs a good cleaning in there. The staff are very kind.

We booked a jetted tub room and paid almost double for it. The jets in the tub were full of black mould. During checkout the front desk clerk was completely unhelpul, unsympathetic and told us very polity with a smile on his face that there is nothing they can do. He hasn't even interested in seeing any photos we took. I will put in here that the night front desk clerk Brandi was the oposite inthat she was extremely nice and helpful but we did not discuss this issue with her.

They put us into king room with a jacuzzi tub. The room smelled musty when we arrived but had a dinner reservation and a concert to go to so didn’t deal with it then. Also, at check in I recalled that they told me they were sold out. Returned to room after the concert around 11 and we were beat. The whole night I suffered significant allergies including sinus issues, headache and swollen eyes. The smell was so strong it woke me up several times. The bed was old and unsupportive as well. In the morning, I went to tell front desk about the concerns I had. The gentleman said he couldn’t do anything for me because I prepaid. I told him what I said above but he didn’t do anything. I asked for his manager’s card and he gave it to me. This room should be decommissioned. Oh yes, the curtains were full of mold and I have pics.

Don't be fooled like us. We stayed in the King Room with Whirlpool on June 24, 2025. We booked early in June, specifically choosing this hotel because the listing included breakfast (note that older reviews about this are no longer true). We were coming off a hectic travel schedule and wanted a place where we could just relax and not worry about tracking down meals or amenities. Upon arrival, we were told that breakfast was no longer provided. When we showed our booking details to the front desk manager, Ben, he simply shrugged, saying they didn't update their listing on the booking websites in time. No apology for the lack of communication, and no effort to make things right. The next morning, the hotel shut off water to all the rooms — again, without any warning. When we called the front desk, the staff casually said, “Oh yeah, we had a mini emergency and had to stop all water,” as if it was no big deal. No courtesy call, no workarounds offered like bottled water to manage getting ready in the morning. The most disappointing part isn't even the lack of breakfast or running water: it was the staff's indifference. At no point did anyone express concern or take responsibility. If staff had handled this with a little bit more professionalism, we wouldn't have left this review. Hopefully this informs at least one other potential guest so they reconsider their options.
