What guests think

At Super 8 by Wyndham Cornwall ON, travellers frequently praise very clean, modern rooms and friendly, accommodating staff, while noting the convenient location just off Highway 401 and a complimentary breakfast that ranges from solid to forgettable.

However, multiple reviews report the pool often closed or unreliable, no elevator to upper floors, and occasional noise from neighbouring rooms or HVAC, plus some musty odours and bathroom maintenance issues. Parking and EV charging are convenient, and rooms are generally spacious and comfortable for a quick road‑trip stop. Overall, expect a straightforward value stay with modern rooms and easy highway access, but check facility status if the pool matters.

The young man who checked us in was amazing. Very courteous and helpful. The room was fine but the bathroom shower needed serious cleaning. Because I cleaned for a living I notice this area immediately. The grout had pink mildew and tiles were gritty…a good scrubbing with cleaner and a brush is needed. The caulking needs replacing because of mold growing in it, and the glass needs proper cleaning. The rest of the bathroom was fine.

There were renovations going on in some areas that explained some of the messiness. Bed was extremely comfortable and we did get a good nights sleep. Bathroom was far less than clean floors were dirty, metal baseboard tops were covered in dust , dirt and fuzz, plus the shower had mildew and pink mold around the base and in the grout. Lots of room for improvement. The flooring in the bed area also needed a good scrubbing with cleaner and water.

This hotel has no carpet, but hard laminate flooring, which means you can hear every thing above you. Walking, chair rolling, bodily functions. I had to switch rooms after an hour, and I had paid for the big whirlpool tub room which I only got to use for an hour, but I needed sleep as I was travelling. Put carpet back in or sound proof these floors. It was bad.

Nice room for a well needed rest on a long journey. The room was very clean with great linens to keep you cozy. Once the heater was turned on and got going it was good - a little noisy, but eventually ended up with a deep hum from the engine with the fan blowing.

This was our second stay at the same hotel within 2 weeks. The only real problem or downside were the curtains. With a bright light shining outside our room at the front, we couldn’t pull the curtains together to keep the bright light from shining through. I hope the manager goes into the rooms at night to see how much light filters through. They are made of a cheap plastic type fabric. I did tell the receptionist but will also inform the manager. After traveling for hours a good night sleep is important.

I had a good stay here. The rooms are clean and spacious. It’s in a quiet area. The free breakfast was good. The only thing I feel like that could be improved is getting some bigger black out curtains, as the current ones are quite small and have many gaps of light, so the room isn’t actually very dark

The whole reason we chose this motel on our way home from PEI was the pool… It was closed. When I asked the gal at the front desk about it, she offered to cancel my reservation and refund my money. It was 8:00 at night! What did she think I was going to do? I asked about a reduced room rate. Above her pay grade. Asked for the Wyndham customer service number and called - because I was not a rewards member, she was unwilling to do anything. It seems to me if the services you are advertising are no longer available, monetary compensation should be AUTOMATIC!

Room was great except for a huge problem which we repaired with the air conditioning. Very loud .. like it was making crushed ice. We reported it to front desk upon arrival but no one showed up to look at it. We left very early the next morning as we got no sleep after driving for 12 hours that day. Not impressed with the hotel as we have stayed in many of this chain of hotels during this vacation week and many in the past.

I have to say, I love this hotel! Highly recommended! I booked the hotel through Expedia a week ago. Reserved 2 nights stay. However, when we almost arrived the hotel, we got a phone call and we needed to go back to Toronto the next morning. I contacted the hotel and see if they could help me to cancel the 2nd night’s reservation. And Gina, the lovely lady, she helped and guided me how to proceed with Expedia. Unfortunately, after being transferred to many different phone lines from Expedia, the service representative said they couldn’t do anything. And back to the hotel, Gina helped me to arrange the cancellation and communicated with Expedia and the hotel’s accountant. And she helped me to cancel the 2nd night’s reservation. She was really really helpful and sweet! And all the employees were so nice and polite. The hotel was very clean, breakfast was great! And it’s so quiet, compared with many other hotels we stayed before, this one is the one of the best ones!!!!!!! We will definitely come back!

Perfect location next to the 401 ready to resume our trip the next morning. However, we werevat the back of the building and our sleep was completely disturbed by the transportvtrucks parked about 15' away whose engins ran all night. Not a gentle "white" noise either as the tone changed when the heat/cool kicked in and our sleep was disturbed every time. I would ONLY stay here again if a room at the front was guaranteed. A shame, because everything else was so good.

Rooms were clean- beds were comfy…pillows not the best but doubled up and survived! Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was a decent selection - eggs, sausage, waffles, toast/bagels, fruit, yogurt and cereal. We watched the staff stock the eggs and my husband went and got some assuming they would be fresh…not the case, they were ice cold and sausages were gross. The gym was very basic- treadmill, bike and elliptical machine and hand weights (I believe just 3/5/8 lbs)
