What guests think

Across recent reviews, Lakeview Inns & Suites - Brandon is praised for clean, quiet rooms, friendly staff, and comfortable beds at good value, while recurring drawbacks include dated decor, occasionally unreliable Wi-Fi, and inconsistent breakfast quality and replenishment.

Many guests highlight the convenient location just off Highway 1 with dining and fuel nearby, though it sits outside the city centre. Rooms are generally spacious and comfortable but feel worn, with some reports of noisy HVAC or hallway disturbances and lumpy pillows. Expect a budget-friendly, service-forward stay with variable breakfast execution.

I was expecting a pool, as a photograph of one came up when I did research on Brandon hotels. Very disappointed that there was only a tiny work out room.

Poor parking availability. Property description has pool listed and they have no pool. Desk attendant said they haven't had a pool "for years" and admitted description is inaccurate. Noisy room and location

We asked about the pool at checkin and were told it was filled in 10 years ago and that they’ve been fighting with Expedia to update that info but they haven’t. So we were disappointed there was no pool but were told that there’s a great breakfast. Unfortunately there were no hot items except toast or maybe putting oatmeal in the mic. I think maybe an employee was sick. The front desk crew did try to replenish stuff. We were looking forward to waffles/ sausages etc but did find yogurt/ toast and I tried the packaged hard boiled eggs. The bed was a bit hard we found too. It was clean and mostly quiet, big room with the king bed, huge bathroom. So not our best hotel experience- should have done more research on the Lakeview website. But I’ve stayed at 2 of their other properties that had pools so was kind of surprised this one didn’t. The staff were very friendly. The coffee in the breakfast area was good but there was a bit of a line-up at times.

It is disappointing that the website still advertises there is a pool when there apparently hasn’t been one since 2014. The check in staff was very welcoming and helpful. The room could have used better cleaning especially the bathroom as we found hair in the tub.

The room was clean enough but the lobby and stairs needed to be cleaned. The staff were not welcoming. Usually front desk staff says good morning, etc as you pass through. Not here. 1. No lake view, just Shell station view. 2. Windows of the room were obscured by inter-pane condensation 3. Internet wifi access was very problematic, and subsequently my iPad and iPhone access needed to be reset. Not an issue I have encountered before. 4. Mechanical settings for temperature was not maintained, and wall mounted thermostat seemed to compete with wall shaker control panel. Access panel to wall shaker was open which implies prior knowledge of issues. 5. Front desk attendant on checkout was dismissive of my complaint about wifi and mechanical issues. Couldn’t have cared less. Summary, I won’t subject myself to this Brand again.

The room was dated at definitely could use some updates. There were three remote controls to operate the TV with no instructions. The sink had wear damage and dated hardware. No cup in the bathroom for brushing your teeth and once in your mouth. No courtesy bottles of water. Room cleanliness was questionable. And when I booked the room, it said city view, and I was looking at a Storage compound from my window. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was basic and cold. Overpriced for what was received.

Booked thru Expedia as we had stayed here years ago and it was nice back then. Now it’s ok, furnishings are banged up. First morning, breakfast hostess was excellent. Second morning, front desk worker was covering and customer service was horrible. Went for breakfast half hour before it was over and there was barely any food. No waffles, eggs, beans, yogurt, hard boiled eggs. Only hot items were sausage or toast. When I asked for more coffee cups, I was told she’d get to it eventually. More people were coming in to eat and when they asked for more food they were grumpily told that breakfast was over in 15 minutes so she wasn’t replenishing. Not acceptable when there are hungry people who have paid for breakfast and aren’t given any food plus met with abrupt/rude comments.

Rooms are a bit dated but thats only cosmetic. The hotel is conveniently located off Hwy 1. The area is safe. There is parking in front of and behind the hotel. The property is very clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable. Our room was right across from the elevator and surprisingly there was minimal noise (parking lot was quite full so we assumed there were a decent number of guests). Breakfast was good. Was really happy overall with the stay. The room was nice. The bed was super comfy. My son slept on the pull out couch and it wasn’t fantastic, but it’s a pull out couch so expectations weren’t high in the first place. We needed an extra blanket for the pull out which was remedied with a quick call to the front desk. Breakfast was hot and well supplied by a very attentive hostess who made sure tables were wiped and food serving area was clean. Would definitely stay again. Great price for a great stay!

The breakfast was not available the Sunday morning I was there, because the kitchen person had called in sick! There was cereal, yogurt, coffee, juice, boiled eggs, toast (ran out), but no hot breakfast. The person at the front desk just shrugged it off and said "what can we do if the person phones in sick?" The breakfast has always been a downfall at this location, but when it wasn't available, that was not acceptable.
