Convient to Emory Campus and dining options, especially Emory Village. They are undergoing some renovations (exterior, it appears). No elevator on the side I was staying, which meant this older lady had to hoist her bag up to the 3rd floor, with two smaller bags.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The cleanliness was impressive, and the staff at check-in were extremely friendly and helpful. The parking facilities are ideally located and there are plenty of spaces available, which is very convenient. My room was spacious and comfortable, making my stay even more enjoyable. Overall, I was very pleased with everything and highly recommend this hotel!

We genuinely loved this hotel! It was quiet and clean with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. Perfect for our trip to Atlanta! Front desk staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Hopefully the next time we visit the pool will be ready and open. Definitely recommend this hotel.

I always stay at the University Inn, because my granddaughter is attending Emory University, she is a sophomore. Tis was the most disappointing time of all and we have stayed there at 5 or 6 times. First of all I asked for a handicap room and was given 2212 at the bottom of flight of six steps to go down. there was no bars in the shower to hang on to, to get in the shower. I do not know why I was not given 2218 at the end of the hall, which had no stairs to get to it and you could just walk right into it. Then when we were settle in the room the lamp between the beds would go on and off. So I followed the cord and found that the plug in box was mount on the wall and the box spring was setting sitting right under it and that mattress was resting on top of it. So every time i sat on the bed iI was disconnecting the cord. So we would move the mattress and replug it in so we had a light in the room. Someday the mattress may catch on fire. Then when I got m bill on my Credit card I was charged the full 4 days stay plus a $7.50 a parking charge for each day. I made my reservation November 1, 2024 when there was no parking fee but they changed their policy on 11/18/24. I was never informed about this until I got my bill on my credit card. Called them and their was too bad basically. Not the type of service I was use to from them.

Breakfast was minimalist, with no sitting room so you grabbed stuff and went back to your room, but coffee was pretty good. No problems with wifi. Bed was surprisingly comfortable and noted that fitted sheets were doubled. Microwave and fridge were clean, working. Suggest you bring an extension strip as duplex outlets were limited, and one did not work at all. Does look like it has a well maintained pool and area.

Saw multiple roaches in the room. Holes in ceiling closet. Everything in the room felt old. Air conditioner was dirty and unclean. The exterior and interior need some massive upgrades because this looked like a rundown motel. Also the breakfast was not good at all. It's some grab and go. The staff were ok but when asking questions they changed their attitude. The pool didn't have any chairs. Wasps were in multiple parts of the walkways. I had to check out early and I could say more but I wanna keep this review somewhat short. Whoever reads this, do yourself a favor and pay a little extra for a better hotel.

The furniture was cheap & beat up. All around the bottom of the dresser was water damaged & the veneer torn off. There was food left in the fridge from the previous people. Many of the buttons on the remote did not work, including the closed captioning button, which my husband needed. I am on oxygen & the local provider delivered a concentrator for me to use while sleeping. It is on wheels, but very heavy. My husband is disabled & uses a walker or scooter. The lady who checked us in brought it to our room from the office. I really appreciated that. I probably could have managed, it would have been difficult. We had to check out early (before the front desk opened) to be at Emory so I called them to let them know & that our card key would be on the dresser. I let them know the provider would be by to get the concentrator but we could not bring it to the office (the property inclined from our room to the office). The woman started getting very snippy to me, interrupting me when I was trying to explain, angrily telling me she was pregnant and she was not going to do it either. I nicely asked if housekeeping could do it when they got there and she said "no, put it outside the door". Outside the door was actually outside and in plain view of the parking lot & street. I said I wasn't comfortable leaving it out there. She just kept angrily repeating "put it outside the room." Will never stay there again. Not worth the $189. Wouldn't stay if it were free.

Good location to where I was attending a conference at Emory although there . Decent bed. The other bed made a creaking noise so I didn’t choose it. The air conditioner was very noisy. I couldn’t get captions on the TV. The room had a smell. Couldn’t figure it out.

The staff was fantastic. The rooms need updating. They are old and out of style. The mattresses were uncomfortable. The air was leaking so the rug was wet. I was to reiterate though the staff was great. Very friendly and helpful.

Really convenient for the university if you are visiting students but really nothing around the hotel other than uni . Walls very thin so bring earplugs and we found most electric sockets not working so hard to charge phone . And room not cleaned in 4 nights

Experienced with micro aggression and unpleasant manner I am sorry to letting you know my unpleasant experience to stay at the University INN at Emory from Nov 11 to 14th ,2023. When I arrived on Nov 11th during the night time around 8pm. I found out the staff provided me an unclean room which was smelly and with used towel. The closet has not closed when I entered the room at the first floor. I asked to change to another room which the Inn has many vacancy rooms. The staff served all late comers who were white customers and asked me to wait, even if the white customers stood after me at a single file and said served her (me) first. The staff still served all white customers firstly until they left the reception.The staff showed the micro aggression to non white customers. Finally the staff gave my the key of 2nd floor room, but i found out the key cannot access the room. My daughter and I stayed outdoor with cold and rainy weather conditions. At last, she provided me the previous unclean room to let us staying in until Sunday. Since Nov 12th, I met every staff who was helpful and nice. Dealing with the non professional staff with showing micro aggression to foreigners, I felt really disappointed. Emory University has many visitor come from all over the world, you have to train up your staff professionally and without micro aggression to every customer. To be honest, I hope this was only an individual unprofessional case, and not because I am non white customer.
Experienced with micro aggression and unpleasant manner I am sorry to letting you know my unpleasant experience to stay at the University INN at Emory from Nov 11 to 14th ,2023. When I arrived on Nov 11th during the night time around 8pm. I found out the staff provided me an unclean room which was smelly and with used towel. The closet has not closed when I entered the room at the first floor. I asked to change to another room which the Inn has many vacancy rooms. The staff served all late comers who were white customers and asked me to wait, even if the white customers stood after me at a single file and said served her (me) first. The staff still served all white customers firstly until they left the reception.The staff showed the micro aggression to non white customers. Finally the staff gave my the key of 2nd floor room, but i found out the key cannot access the room. My daughter and I stayed outdoor with cold and rainy weather conditions. At last, she provided me the previous unclean room to let us staying in until Sunday. Since Nov 12th, I met every staff who was helpful and nice. Dealing with the non professional staff with showing micro aggression to foreigners, I felt really disappointed. Emory University has many visitor come from all over the world, you have to train up your staff professionally and without micro aggression to every customer. To be honest, I hope this was only an individual unprofessional case, and not because I am non white customer.

The hotel was perfect for our needs. We were able to keep the car there instead of having to move to the parking garage. The location was close to food and shopping. The front desk staff did an awesome job upon checking us in, even with the computer hiccup they had going on. They were very professional and quickly got us in our room.

The property is nothing fancy but the rooms are very spacious and it is very convenient to Emory. I was there for a volleyball tournament and was able to walk to the gym everyday. I liked not having to spend money on Ubers! Emory Village, where there are a number of good restaurants, is also within walking distance. All in all, I found the University Inn to be a good value for the price.

Perfect location if your business is the Druid Hills, Medlock, Clairmont Rd, Decatur and closer communities. Excellent quality for the cost. Very spacious and comfortable rooms. Very clean. The property was extremely clean. The staff was corteous. I noticed there was no hair-dried at 10 pm, called the front desk and they ran one to my room a few minutes later. The room is spacious. I would not count on breakfast unless you enjoy eating processed and pre-packed pastries.

Slept so good because it was EXCEPTIONALLY clean! WELL MAINTAINED! All the space in room 212 was a treat compared to most hotels these days. No stuffiness or bad smells. Just clean and comfortable. We will be back to Emory for appointments and will always always always book a room at The University Inn. I’m dreading a day there may not be a room available. We got the last one this time! A side note is that we got there after midnight and the staff were easy to reach and got us checked in efficiently and kindly. The to go breakfast was clean and set up at 7am. They had hearty boiled eggs in prepackaged to go as well as yogurt, make your own quick oatmeal, prepackaged muffin/pastries, fruit cups, milk, granola bars, juice, & maybe another thing or two I’m forgetting. Good enough for us. Very pleased with this place.

Check in process was easy. The room was clean and comfortable. The extra locks in the door made me feel safe, even though it’s a motel so the door leads to the outside, not a hallway. They should not claim they serve breakfast. Plastic wrapped danishes ( like you’d get at 7-11, that don’t go bad for months) and a kind bar and coffee are not a breakfast. It would be nice to have two bars of soap in the room. One for the sink and one for the shower. I’d recommend even a small upgrade on the TP. I noticed the Atlanta airport bathroom TP was thicker. It was clean, safe, warm (it’s 35 degrees out) and fairly quiet.

They had a great grab n go breakfast - very good food offered!! And while there was only one person on the desk, she was very nice and responsive. I liked it there very much. Would stay again when I'm in the area. Very safe as well. Room was great - it was on the ground floor which some might find a problem, but I didn't. It was spacious and great to relax and do my daily yoga before heading back out on the road. Good for my dog too - nice neighborhoods to walk around in. Just lovely there.

The best adjective to use for the hotel is "spare". The one person I saw working at the desk was quite friendly and informative. The hotel is housekeeping-on-demand. I was only staying two nights, so I didn't ask for it. It was a bit unnerving to come back to a hotel at night with the bed unmade, but that's what I asked for. The breakfast is all out of boxes, good quality, but except for the coffee/tea, cold. In what must be a covid-artifact, there is no place to eat in the lobby: we're invited to eat in our room or outside. Overall, fine. I didn't spend much time there and have no complaints.
