What guests think

Travellers describe Best Western Plus Morden as a clean, modern, family-friendly hotel with very friendly staff, comfortable rooms, and a popular hot breakfast, plus a pool with waterslide that's a highlight for kids and relaxing for adults.

Many like the quiet, convenient setting near town, restaurants, and the highway, with open-prairie views. Common drawbacks include beds that some find too soft or lumpy, noise from hallways or stairwells during busy times, and recurring pool air or chlorine issues. There are also occasional hiccups such as a missed housekeeping service, a check-in mix-up, elevator quirks, pool-hour confusion, and breakfast complaints about early closing or inconsistent hot items. We love going here for cheap getaways, not too far from the city that the kids complain about the driving but far enough that it feels like you’re far from home. There are also a few things to do nearby, many within walking distance. The building is new, staff is lovely, and the pool slide is perfect for my kids (ages 7 and 9). A couple of detractors…breakfast is only available until 9am on weekdays and 9:30am on weekends; I’m sure it used to be until at least 10. This is way too early to force vacationing guests to get up. There’s also only one waffle iron (all the other BWs I’ve stayed at have two), so even though we stayed a week, we never even got waffles since the line up was never-ending. The second issue was that, this time, the pool chemicals were out of whack. My kids developed coughs every time they went swimming that had them coughing so hard they vomited, every single time they swam and even for a few hours after getting out of the water. Initially I thought it was because they were playing too hard but when I noticed other kids throwing up also, I looked it up and learned that excess amounts of chlorine can have that effect. I mentioned it to the front desk and they replied that they knew and had already turned it down, but it continued to be a problem every single time my kids went into the water. This has not been a problem during prior visits; it seems like the staff needs more training on how to effectively maintain a pool.

We came for a group ski trip and stayed for one night. We liked being able to meet up at the lobby/large cafeteria area. The breakfast and coffee was amazing! The room and beds were comfortable however the floor was a bit dirty. Overall the biggest draw back was the chlorine FUMES in the pool area. Our eyes were stinging and some were coughing after brief periods at the pool. This would be the only reason why I wouldn’t return.

I love this hotel & location is rlly good as its pretty close to restaurants and some local shops. Boston pizza is just a walking distance from the hotel and there’s a place called Coffee Culture which is a 5 min drive from the hotel and they serve good food & drinks! Also, my husband is obsessed with golf and theres a golf course nearby as well (5-7min drive from the hotel) its the Minnewasta golf and country club! The location of this hotel is accessible to everything you might need & want! The hotel is clean, lots of natural light cause of the big windows, FREE BREAKFAST (love the waffles), receptionist is really nice & helpful. I love how theres a waterslide, good size pool & hot tub. It had all the amenities / services we needed. I took off 1 point cause there was a small stain on the blanket and the pillows were way too firm for my liking but other than that, we had a very pleasant stay and will come back for sure!

Only a few people stayed at this hotel while we stayed and they put all of us together in close proximity. It must have been easier for them to clean rooms but I think the guest should come first. We could hear snoring next door so the sound travels. Vacuuming right outside our room at 7:30am and the sound felt like it was inside our room. Beds are so soft. So sorry but we did not like it.

We had an end room next to the stairway and it was a bit noisy. As some of the hotel guests were up and about early we started to hear noises before 6 AM...a different room location would have meant we would not have heard guests leaving by way of the stairs. The breakfast was OK but the "hot" selections were not that hot. Also the waffle irons were on the same breaker and this was a problem as when both were working...breaker blew. Attendant then plugged one iron into same outlet as toaster and it then blew too. this should be remedied as when breakfast room is busy...as it was when we were there...blowing breakers slows everything and everyone down. We liked the location as it was close to where we needed to be. the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Parking was more than adequate and all in all...was a good stay.

Easy access. It is located right off the highway. Check in was great and the staff was very friendly. There was a miscommunication with the people that were staying there so when we went to our room that we were checked into, the people were still there so we walked into an occupied room. We were taken care of and upgraded to a different room. A little embarrassing for the people we walked in on. All ended well.

Nice newer hotel. Comfortable beds. No issues with cleanliness of the room. Spacious eating and gathering area. It was nice we could use their dishes for our own take out meals outside of the breakfast hour. Appreciate the 24 hour regular and decaf coffee and tea. We were there with part of our hockey team for tournament, and there were signs made out to hockey parents and players on the walls and elevators all over the hotel with extensive rules and conditions, and warned us there were "27 cameras" watching. I suspected there may have been incidents at this hotel in the past as some of the rules were oddly specific "don't throw towels in the pool", but we felt uncomfortable and unfairly judged just for being part of a team. It didn't feel nice to be thrown in a box just for being part of a team. Breakfast was fair. The egg "squares" were inedible, they were salty and mushy. The pool area was fun for the kids but it is small and needs far more seating and include tables. People were sitting on the floor because of how small the area was.
