What guests think

Reviews of Coronet Hotel highlight very friendly staff and generally clean rooms, while noting the property feels older, with recurring heating and air conditioning control issues and occasional noise or security concerns near entrances.

Several guests praised the on-site restaurant and found breakfast good. Some stays were affected by check-in or reservation mix-ups, plus access hassles like missing side-door keys. Overall, it suits travelers seeking value and simple comforts over modern finishes.

During check in they gave me a card to get in the room, told me to park around at the back and come through the side door. However they didn’t give me a key to get in the door. Fortunately another person came by and let me in and told me to get a key from the front desk. The rooms air conditioner was on high and quite cold, although there is a thermostat in the room it doesn’t seem to work. We were unable to turn the air conditioner down.

The place was clean, had to phone someone to come check us in. If you’re not too fussy, not a bad place to stay. There is a bar in the same building that attracts the wrong crowd.

Staff were soo friendly, from the front desk to the cleaning people. It was a great disappointment that the cafeteria was closed all weekend. Meals were a challenge, especially as I was with a group of several people staying at the Coronet who all wanted to just meet for a coffee or breakfast while there.

Good all around, except no heat. However they supplied a portable heater, which did the trick. Boilers are old so they shut them off in summer or it will be extremely hot.
