La Quinta by Wyndham Buffalo Amherst

Comfortable room. Overall was clean. The breakfast was very basic hotel and fealt lacking, but still appreciated.The pool was small. The gym was pretty good. Good area in the back for dogs. Spent a few days and the area did feel safe enough while walking the dog around. Good food close by and lots of fun things to do. Overall experience was a 5 stars even if the hotel wasn't perfect. This hotel was still an enjoyable and comcortable place to come home to for our stay.

The only downside we experienced was the pool was cloudy and it didn’t appear to be heated. However, the room was spacious, the bed was incredibly comfortable and HUGE! The room had a microwave and very nice refrigerator.

Quick check in, room was comfortable, beds were a little small, if you’re sleeping alone in the middle of the bed it’s fine but if you share a bed the mattress tends to lean and you roll off the edge easily. Water pressure in the morning was low and toilet wouldn’t flush. When booking our stay the hotel advertised that there was a pool which is why we chose this hotel, however even though we packed our swim suits, we were disappointed to see that the pool was closed and out of use. I wish this was mentioned when booking so that we could’ve booked else where l, as my 5 year old was really upset that she couldn’t swim. Room was overall clean. Breakfast was mediocre, no bananas which was a little disappointing as well. Location is great for shopping. We loved the soaps and face wipes in the bathroom. We traveled with our 5 month old and use a cooler with ice packs to keep his milk cold while traveling. We were a little disappointed to see the mini fridge didn’t include a freezer section like most hotel fridges do to keep our ice packs frozen. Check out is 11am, we received a knock on the door at 9:40am from the cleaning staff asking if we were leaving soon so he could clean our room, my husband advised no we weren’t ready yet and that check out is at 11am. 20 minutes later my husband made a trip to our car and left myself and my kids in the room, the cleaning gentleman then entered the room to find us still in the room. We felt like we were being kicked out or rushed to leave!!

Very disappointing that the pool was closed.

The hotel is pretty good, clean rooms and bathroom, but unfortunately the flooring in the room was not very clean( In the description it says that there are 2 pools, one outside and one inside, but the pool is only one inside. And the pool inside is not very clean(

Saltwater pool was nice, as well to a comfortable bed

Spacious rooms, good wi-fi, complementary coffee during the day, free parking and breakfast. Convenient location between the airport and Niagara Falls. Mediocre cleaning, noisy neighbors (probably permanent or long time guests).

Everything ok Except pool is very small

The rooms were nice and clean. The pool was not very clean and unusable. Also the only ice machine ran out!!!

We got to the motel from out of town 3 1/2 hours . We had to wait right until 3:00 pm check in. When we finally got our room. They left an ionizer in the room accidently to rid the room of smells. When we pulled the covers down for bed at 11pm. We realized that they just changed the sheets on a bed that had been pee’d in.I tried to get ahold of the front desk but no one there. Also the pool has been out off order for sometime. STAY AWAY

Dirty sticky room floors

I’m 38 and I’ve never left a negative review of a hotel in my life. I've never left a hotel because the cleanliness and conditions weren't as advertised. I suppose there is a first for everything. I’m not convinced that all the positive reviews for this hotel are genuine reviews. Where to start? 1. Wife and I were sweating in our 75° room and and after complaining, we were told the air conditioning only worked if we were in the room. We couldn’t leave our room if we wanted it to be cool for the night. A/C unit was unable to bring the temperature down more than one degree after running for 90min. 2. After complaining to the front desk a second time, I was offered a different room, but didn’t feel like I could trust that the A/C would work in it, given how adamant the staff was that it was working fine in our room. It's like they didn’t believe me. I decided to terminate our stay out of concern for our health. When I requested a refund I was told I’d have to speak with the hotel manager. 3. When I got back to my room to tell my wife we were leaving, she showed me the filthy sheets & the A/C filters. (Images attached) 4. The manager won’t respond. I’ve called and given them my contact info 3 times now and they still won’t call me back. 5. Had to cut our vacation plans as a result of having to spend $400 on a hotel we didn’t stay at. Ignore the positive reviews. It’s not in your best interest to stay here. If something is wrong with your room, you could be stuck with it.

Very clean. Great location. Excellent breakfast. Housekeeping services were minimal but this was well communicated. Bed was very comfortable. Will definitely return again.

Hotel was absolutely disgusting Our room was full of marks, dents, stains all over the walls and even worse there was gum on the ceiling!!! I have stayed in a million and one hotels and this has got to be one of the worst! I would stay here again if you paid me! The room stunk as well and the man at the desk said there wasn’t any other rooms to move us too and after a 5 hour drive we just settled. Online it said there was other rooms available also!! So there was no reason we couldn’t move rooms!! Absolutely not a single offer to do anything to make our stay better or compensate anything. 0/10 star review

First we were sent to a room where the door was wide open, and there was a machine to take away smell. Then we got sent to another room and the sheets were all stained. We asked for new sheets, where told they’d be sent up hours go by and nothing. We asked again and never got the sheets.

My stay at La Quinta could have been an okay experience. For the most part, the hotel was clean and the staff were kind. The pool was extremely cold, but saltwater which is always nice. I have had ALOT of hot hotel breakfasts, but this one was mediocre. There were not a lot of options and some of the things tasted weird or were overcooked. Given all that, I would say that the hotel itself is "Okay". However, my experience was made terrible by the fact that even though the rooms are advertised as sound proof on Expedia, they are NOT soundproof. Unfortunately, we were placed beside another family, and the walls are so thin, we could hear their TV, kids screaming and the father yelling profanities until past 1 am in the morning. We called the night reception multiple times, and at one point the staff member tried to deny that the people were making noise. When we talked to management about the issue, and told her that it was advertised as sound proof she made a face as if I was making it up and I had to show her exactly where it said that (by the way, this is not something we were explicitly looking for in the hotel room, it was just the very first feature advertised on expedia). I will say that management was extremely apologetic about the situation, but being apologetic after the fact does not remedy the fact that my family was awoke many times throughout the night because of a lack of action of their night worker.

I had a room front door thst would not close unless you slammed it. Also, the refrigerator frozed your food if you put it in it.

Light was burned out on one side of the bathroom mirror. Bathroom exhaust fan was extremely loud. In room refrigerator was also very very loud. The rest of the room was very comfortable. The bed was very comfortable as well.

I guess the room was clean, it smelled like a deep fryer though. The AC didnt adjust below 70 so that sucked because it was like 90 outside.

Property was nice, room was clean and inviting, effortless check in, but most of the floor tiles in the bathroom were loose, which made the use of the bathroom somewhat uncomfortable. Overall it was a positive stay.

Don’t book. Choose another hotel. Upon arriving from a 10 drive, I was met by a front desk worker who was incredibly rude, nasty, and apathetic from the moment we arrived. When I had an issue with the light, he rolled his eyes, huffed and stormed passed me, and acted like we were beneath him. Upon calling him out about not needing to roll his eyes and be rude simply because I was needing his assistance, he just glared at me like he was possessed. Also upon getting further into my room, I noticed a strong urine smell. Because this hotel worker was being very cold and nasty, I called Wyndam and then they told me to call Expedia for intervention. I simply wanted a different room. The worker refused to do that even with Expedia asking. I told the new attendant's the next day of how our arrival the previous night went. I asked for the manager to contact me but that never happened. Like I said, book elsewhere. They are stingy with towels also.

Did not cleaned my room anr day during my stay.

Toilet in room spewed water whenever flushed. Management promised to fix the toilet the next morning which they did not. They also promised a 20% refund which they did not give and said Hotels.com would give which they did not.

Hotel was super clean. However there is a very strong perfume smell in the lobby. Wondering if there are trying to cover another I desirable odor? Handicap parking was ample but was a skating rink and not safe to use. The regular parking was cleared and salted. The front desk wasn’t helpful nor caring about this when asked as I have a handicap tag. Friendly day staff but a bit challenging for them to understand me when I told them the phone was broken in the room. I’d stay here again. Very clean and convenient area and I felt very safe

We had to go downstairs to ask for extra linen, we also asked for late checkout and didn’t receive that either.

Staff were exceptional. Quick check in, spacious clean room, and comfortable bed. Great value for the price. Will be making this my hotel of choice when I am in Buffalo.

Our initial interaction was terrible. We arrived early with the intent to potentially check in early. We asked Patel at the front desk who quickly and very impolitely shared there were no available rooms but if there were there’d be a $30 early check in fee. Useless information if he had no available rooms. We then discussed potentially leaving our bags so that we could visit a few local sites and park our car without our luggage in it. He quickly denied my request saying that because they were a small hotel, there was no space for us to leave our bags. Unfortunately, at that point it was too late to cancel our reservation or I’d have surely done so. After a long day, we returned to the property to check in. This front desk clerk was much more hospitable BUT once we were assigned a room, we found that the sheets were stained. My wife refused to stay in that room. The next room we were assigned had a broken front door. We thought the key didn’t work but the front desk clerk was kind enough to advise us to push the door really hard. We did and after a few trips downstairs, we gained entry to find a room that also hadn’t been properly cleaned. There was a used towel on the shower rod. The plumbers tape on the shower head wasn’t secure so water sprayed the walls and ceiling when we showered. We eventually used the dirty rag for a short term fix to the water pressure and direction. All in all, Patel is rude and the rooms were dirty and in poor condition.

Hotel nice and clean however when i called the front desk, no one answered

This is the 4th time we’ve stayed at this property and every time it gets a little rougher. Overall stay was fine. One big draw back is the cleaning staff. They are nice,I guess, but very unapproachable and they repeatedly tried to enter our rooms to give towels, but did not properly announce their entry. We travel with our dog and she is very well behaved and every single morning the cleaning staff would be posted up outside our room and when we would leave the hotel rooms they would uninvitingly stare at us and get too close. I believe this hotel needs some more up keeping and cleaning between stays done. We love the area and love that it is dog friendly. We just wish the staff was more friendly. 2.5/5 rating overall.

Property was fine but trying to leave the property was very difficult. Inkeeper Lane is off a very busy road and to make a left is impossible. You have to go out of your way to be able to make a left. They should try to get a traffic signal at the end of Innkeepers Lane.

Hotel is close to shopping places, almost a half hour far from N falls. Good breakfast choise, confy bed, nice stay. Recommended.

It’s our go to place, clean, quiet and easy to get to

Good location near interstate and plenty of dining and shopping options Hotel was clean and quiet. Decent breakfast also. Bob Evans restaurant next door if you want something else.

Hotel is at a dead end with 2 other hotels which allows for limited traffic and less noise. Great breakfast for guests with lots of hot and cold options and plenty of seating. Room was very nice and clean, beds were the most comfortable, we all slept amazing. Hallways were very spacious to walk through. Employees were friendly. Easy access to freeways, Restuarants, coffee shops, gas, banks, etc. I would definitely stay here again!

We had an excellent stay recently at this hotel!! It is very conveniently located to shopping, dining, and to a venue we were attending. Check in was easy. The front desk gentleman was very very pleasant and helpful! The hotel is VERY clean - lobby, hallways, elevators, and room smell clean and fresh and are very bright and airy!! Our room was super comfortable, clean, spacious, and the area was quiet. We had such a restful sleep. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was clean, spacious, with lovely products to use! Shower had great pressure and hot water immediately! The free breakfast included in the room rate was very very good! Exceptionally good!!! There was: fried eggs, bacon, sausages, roast potatoes, a make your own waffle station with all the fixings, 4 types of cold cereals, bagels with cream cheese, toast with peanut butter and jam, mini banana muffins, blueberry yogurt, fresh fruits, 3 fruit juices to choose from and a coffee and tea station. It was serve yourself as much as you wanted. The area was tidy and replenished speedily. Everything about our stay was perfect! We highly recommend this hotel and we will be back!!!!

Very clean and very easy check-in and I loved how the hotel kept me up to date with text messages, ice machine that actually works and the location was perfect, near so many restaurants and shops, great property. If you’re trying to decide where to book go ahead and book this place, btw they served a free breakfast that had so many options and fantastic coffee.

Breakfast wasn't great, with nock off ketchup juices, the bacon was like sands paper. 24 coffee hour wasn't best quility. Despite Breakfast i didn't see any cleansing problem based on negative reviews. Eh customers service so so, check in person was in other room on his cell inside of waiting at front desk. Room was ok, the bed was comfortable, odd we asked for housekeeping...they cleaned the room, however didn't make the bed. Eh pro and cons on this one, however a slight higher price wasn't worth the price for the service. They have some improvements they can work on.

Everything was great except the very poor quality breakfast. To only offer the cheap sugar substitute in the pink packets was so disappointing. Only oatmeal packets and poor quality meat and potatoes was bad. If I didn’t pay $300 a night I wouldn’t be writing this. Expected more.

The breakfast buffet was inedible. The sausage was not warmed all the way through and still had areas that were partially frozen. The waffle mix dispenser was broken and was leaking everywhere, so we were unable to eat that since other things were not good. Eggs were watery, cold, and had a weird taste
