The service was outstanding, the hotel beautiful, and the breakfast was phenomenal (and I am celiac - wheat allergy). The pool/hottub runs from 6am - 10pm which is better than lots of hotels. This hotel was right near the water and we enjoyed it immensely. Be aware - the toilets, though newer, are very low even for the average height. If you need a regular or higher toilet be sure to ask for an accessible room. My only complaint, hence the 4 stars, was that our A/C would not cool our room down at all. It wouldn't even continually blow any air for that matter. The administration was quick and effective and moved us to another room down the hall right next to our family which was perfect. This room had a similar problem but it did make the temperature a bit more tolerable and the air was blowing the majority of the time. We didn't want to move again so we just ignored it. As a note, my family's room was so cold they turned it right off and the hallway was much more enjoyable than either room temperature wise. We will absolutely come back though. This was an overall good experience in the centre of the tourist area of Sylvan Lake.

The Internet and TV were unavailable throughout our entire stay. As a solution, a staff member offered us access to the Internet in one of the hotel's meeting rooms. Furthermore, we were treated poorly by the woman organizing the breakfast service, who forbade my wife from making an extra waffle. She stated, in a harsh manner, that my wife lacked common sense.

My family and I stayed at the Best Western Plus Chateau Inn in Sylvan Lake in August 2026. During our stay, I was injured when I stepped on a cover on the pool deck that was not properly secured. The cover gave way beneath me, causing my leg to fall through the opening. I suffered a significant bruise to my shin and a deep cut on my heel. While accidents can happen, what was most disappointing was how the situation was handled. After reporting the incident to hotel staff, I was offered a bandage but received no meaningful assistance, and there appeared to be little urgency to address the safety hazard. I was concerned that another guest could easily have been injured in the same way. The injury impacted the remainder of my vacation. I left for a camping trip with an open wound, spent the weekend limping around the campground, and had to stop my regular running routine for nearly two weeks while I recovered. I reported the incident to Best Western Customer Relations and provided photos of both the hazard and my injuries. After more than a month of follow-ups and being repeatedly told the matter was under review, I was ultimately advised that no compensation of any kind would be offered. I was also not provided with any meaningful explanation of the investigation findings. I am disappointed not only by the safety issue itself but by the lack of customer care and accountability shown afterward. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this property.
