Pomeroy Hotel Fort St. John

What guests think

Travellers describe Pomeroy Hotel Fort St. John as a friendly, convenient stay with consistently excellent hot breakfast and generally clean, comfortable rooms, while also noting aging areas and occasional maintenance issues that can detract from the otherwise solid experience.

Facilities include a pool with waterslide and an attached casino/restaurant, but the hot tub is frequently out of service and the pool can be cold, closed, or not well kept. The location is handy for shopping and dining, though some mention highway or truck noise and a few note dark parking areas or a car break-in. Several reviews cite dated decor or worn mattresses alongside quirks like slow-flushing toilets, balky HVAC, or faulty in-room jacuzzi tubs. Overall, expect solid value and convenience with occasional trade-offs in upkeep.

Getting in and out of the parking lot was a bit of a pain. However Jack's offers great meat options and being attached to the casino, if that's your thing, is handy. Rooms were very comfortable and amenities were good except the Hot Tub was down and out

Was super disappointed to find out the hot tub wasn't available as that was the reason for booking. Was put in an adjoining room where there was no tub and the other person in the joint room had a phone conference early in the am waking me up. Little heads up on the booking the room that the hot tub was out would have been great

We always stay at pomeroy all the time it’s are desired place to stay, but are stay was terrible and we don’t like to complain it’s not us. But we stayed in room 425. We get in the room and the washroom toilet wasn’t cleaned it had dirty rims all over toilet and just dirty. Then later in that night returned to room and there was a big blood stain on comforter so we didn’t use comforter that night. Next day we went to have shower and the body wash in shower was empty. Just thankful they had shampoo and conditioner. We had a good breakfast then checked out the front end manager asked us about our stay we told her nice lady she said since we booked online she can’t reimburse us but she gave us her card and said let me know next time you come back and I’ll upgrade your room, a free stay next time would be great. But it’s still a great hotel just had bad luck that day I guess. See you next month pomeroy

First time at a Pomeroy and it was wonderful. Every room is spacious. The breakfast bar is carpeted so no screeching chair noise. The bacon and sausage are great. Regular scrambled eggs or with green onions. Sliced peaches, pears, oranges and melons. Pastries. Bagels, bread and pancakes. Large room with plenty of room between tables. Although is closes at 8:30 on weekdays and 9 on weekends. I would like it 1/2 to 1 hour later like most other hotels. Bedroom was large, modern and clean and had full crown molding. Easy to operate and responsive thermostat. Good shower pressure. The guide and info buttons on the TV remote did not work. Got a paper channel guide from the office but it was a bit inaccurate. Overall it was a very impressive hotel.

We found this hotel to be very comfortable, safe, clean, courteous staff the gentleman that was working at the front counter when we arrived was exemplary and when we needed something brought to our room, he brought it up for us so we would like to recognize that we didn’t realize he was gone this morning when we left or we would’ve told him ourselves.

Super disappointed with wrong information provided at the front desk about breakfast hours. Came down at 9:30 only to be rudely told by restaurant staff that I was late, when in actuality coupon as well as front desk information says breakfast is served until 10am. When I asked for a refund was told booking was through Expedia so there isn't much that could be done. Just a complete joke of a service.

False advertising of hot tub to garner a higher room rate via Expedia. The hot tub has long been inoperative, but is still promoted on Expedia. They essentially called me a liar for insisting that the hotel profile page still showed an available hot tub. The staff argued with me that a discount was not justified, but ended up giving a paltry discount that came nowhere to approaching any of the rate at any of the other hotels that I would have booked, but which had no hot tub. With their lack of professionalism I doubt that I will ever book a Pomeroy hotel again.

Stayed here a few times. Complementary breakfast usually good. Rooms pretty good. This time had an odd experience where tv remote disappeared after room “touched up”. Looked 10 min in every possible spot. No sign of it. Called front desk and they promptly brought another one. Also left lamp cover off the night stand as oddly shade fell off taking un-secured bulb with it and smashed. Fine, switched with other night stand lamp and left shade off - very visable. Guess they missed it or didnt care, perhaps not their job!
