What guests think

Across reviews of Kent Motel, travelers emphasize budget-friendly rates and generally friendly, accommodating owners, while overall impressions are mixed due to recurring complaints about cleanliness issues and very basic amenities at this simple, no-frills stopover.

Several guests report strong odors, stains, and poor upkeep, but others found their rooms clean enough for the price. Rooms are often compact and worn, with comfort varying; many had quiet nights, though a few mentioned hard beds or temperature issues. Amenities are limited and inconsistent (microwave or fridge in some rooms, coffee makers frequently absent), and the property can look run down with some longer-term residents. Overall, expect a basic, low-cost stopover with trade-offs in polish.

Price convenience I had to attend a meeting and Chatham is a five hour drive from home. I need a motel where I could drive down Saturday afternoon, grab a meal at a nearby restaurant, sleep a few hours and get to the meeting on time. There is nothing fancy here - perfect! Mini fridge, microwave, which I did not need. No coffee maker but usual coffee shops in the area

The room smelled like cigarettes. There was mold in the windows and on the walls, the paint was peeling, there were stains in the towels, nail polish dried to the table, dirt all over the tv screen. I was afraid to use the bed and thankful that I brought my own bedding.

Was repeatedly reminded that there is no smoking and my deposit would be revoked if caught as I checked in. Didn’t look the room had been cleaned after the previous guest had left. The room itself was very cramped to the point where you couldn’t open end table doors without moving the chair to wheee the door opens.

We were on a work related trip with a limited budget. We decided on this location based on fair reviews and good price. Upon arriving the smell in the room was awful. The bathroom was very dirty. There was human body hair on the sheets. This gave us reason to remove the sheet to check for possible bed bugs. We did not find any bugs but we did uncover an extremely stained mattress that looked like it was pulled out of a dumpster. Outside of the building there was old furniture and garbage bags. Unsalted walkways. We left to find another location for our stay.

I booked a room with a double bed but was given a queen size bed with no up charge which was nice. It is actually a decent place to stay, we’ve stayed here a few times and have nothing bad to say really. I mean the rooms are a little out dated, but comfortable. The price point is excellent. It’s fairly quiet. We stayed on one of the coldest nights of the year and the heater had trouble keeping up, it was a bit chilly in our room but the bathroom was COLD. We had our own extra blankets to give us extra warmth. One thing I did notice is the bedspread has something wiped on it, it appeared that it was dirty and needed to be washed and under the bed hasn’t been swept in a very long time, I noticed when we were looking for an item we thought it may have fallen under the bed.
