Stayed 6 nights

I stayed here for 9 nights and booked a Standard Double and a Deluxe Twin. I’ll start with the negatives so future guests are aware. The Standard Double had a very disappointing view directly onto a badly run down/damaged building, which was not shown or mentioned when booking. Had I known, I would not have chosen this room. The bathroom extractor also didn’t work. Housekeeping staff were friendly, but cleaning seemed limited to tidying and changing towels. On several occasions, even the toilet had not been flushed after housekeeping, which made me question the bathroom cleaning. There was also no top sheet, only a thin bedspread. When I asked Sibel for a blanket, I was told they had none because it was summer. Later, another bedspread was left outside our door instead. We also had a communication issue with an airport transfer after a flight delay, despite informing the hotel twice in both English and Turkish. My initial communication with Sibel was difficult, although I appreciate that she became much warmer and friendlier later. On the positive side, the other reception staff were excellent. A special thank you to Ayhan Mutlu and his female colleague at breakfast ,their warmth and professionalism genuinely made us feel at home. The location is also excellent for Taksim and Istiklal. I would consider staying again, but definitely not in the Standard Double. Maybe next time in winter, when hopefully blankets and top sheets are available! 😊

Hotel is so clean. Lovely staff Sibel at check in and Taha who showed us our room. Ayhan and Gözde at breakfast were so kind and sweet. Breakfast open Buffett. Rooms were cleaned daily (be sure to turn off the do not disturb sign which I left on ny accident which resulted in room not being clean on one day). Had a ground floor with balcony room felt safe and spacious. Good television with lots of channels. Fridge with daily 1 litre water. Literally 1 minute away from İstikal street. Bus from Istanbul airport stopped drop off is near Taksim square quicker to walk and we got a taxi as unaware which direction to go. (First taxi wanted 700tl then somone took us for 400tl) Bus is comfortable to take to Taksim. Get an Istanbul Kard and top up. Buses, trams, trains so cheap to use. I cannot return to Istanbul and book this hotel again.

My experience was disappointing because of how the breakfast policy was communicated by the manager. After finishing breakfast, I picked up a leftover piece of pound cake to take back to my room. The manager stopped me at the door and told me food was not allowed upstairs.his name is Musa. I understand hotels may have policies about taking food from the dining area, but the issue was not the rule — it was the attitude and delivery. The interaction felt unnecessarily rude and unwelcoming instead of polite and professional. A simple explanation with courtesy would have made a big difference. Customer service and respect matter, and unfortunately this interaction left a negative impression on my stay.
