The hotel is nice and located in a good area for walking around Austin. It was a little too party focused in the pool area. Loud music and people getting drunk. Weird because there were families with kids. Overall my stay was fine. But I won't stay there again. Not a fan of the party crowd vibe.

This Fairmont is certainly up to the standard of the other Fairmont properties we have stayed in. We had the great fortune to utilize the Gold features of the hotel which gives the traveler a luxury experience. The service was spot-on and the breakfast was fabulous. The fitness center is large and very well equipped, although early in the day it can be a bit crowded. The pool is very nice with excellent service and a nice array of food & beverages. There is really only 1 issue at the pool - the music constantly carries a heavy disco beat which can be distracting if you are looking for a peaceful day at the pool. One word of caution to travelers, there is extensive construction all around this property due to the rebuilding of the convention center. It has no bearing at all on this beautiful hotel, but can be a bit distracting in respect to Uber pickups and noise.

Loved our stay at Fairmont Austin! The place is super stylish, comfy, and right in the heart of the action. You’re steps away from Rainey Street and the River Walk, which makes exploring the city a breeze. The rooftop pool is a vibe, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and feel fancy without being over the top. If you're looking for a mix of luxury and fun, this is the spot!

Very nice property with several dining options, beautiful pool, spa and nice lobby bar. All the staff were very friendly especially William at the front desk. He was extremely accommodating! I will definitely stay here again.

Everything was excellent except being kicked out of the pool 2 minutes after getting in because of a private party the only day the weather was warm enough to swim. There was no notification that the pool would be closed at any point of our stay but the front desk or through emails nor any notification prior to booking. The pool was one of the main reasons we booked your hotel having a 5 yr old who looks forward to that kind of stuff.

No doubt this is a nice hotel BUT I have no idea why they allow people to buy their way into the pool area on weekends. The pool is just full of young adults that just pay for a day rate to use the pools. It’s so packed it’s not even comfortable and relaxing. Other Fairmonts you go to do not allow this as your paying a hefty price to go there and it should only be for the customers that are actually staying for there holiday.

Pool was not clean but we did not use it. I thought it was nice we had to attend a baby shower, so we had to check in late. I do think the person answering the phone the next day needs customer service training. She did not listen or try to go and really inquire when we called on Sunday needing to extend our stay a little because it was thunderstorming we need to make our way back from brunch and have time to prepare to check out. But the supervisor we spoke to once the issue was escalated was very apologetic and gave us complementary extended time.

Selected this hotel because of the pool and the reputation of the Fairmont brand. Pros: Except for the pool area, the hotel was clean and staff were nice and professional. Lobby was very nice with horse statues at the entrance and a large indoor oak tree at the lobby bar. Live music in the evening was great. Cons: Biggest negative is how the hotel operates its pool area. I know a lot of hotels offer limited access to their pools on ResortPass, however this hotel takes it to an extreme. We visited on a Sunday. Every single chair was occupied. And it was not possible to swim because there were so many people standing in the pool drinking. None of the people we talked to at the pool were overnight guests. The pool area was honestly dirty. I just checked on Resort Pass to see how many day passes I could purchase for next Saturday July 26, 2025 to see if maybe I just visited on a busy holiday weekend. It indicated that the hotel still had 36 remaining day passes available to purchase for $75 each and even more day passes available for children. I have honestly loved many other Fairmont hotels. But I would not return to this location.

Everything and everyone was outstanding. Luz was particularly helpful the few times we needed assistance. Staff is very attentive and wonderful at anticipating needs. Our only complaint was that the last two days, the main lobby area by elevators smelled as if someone perhaps drank too much and got sick:/

We got to our first room, and immediately as we walked in the smell mold and mildew hit us, very bad. We requested a second room and they were able to accommodate us. Second room had the same smell but not as bad. They have a moisture issue, probably due to flooring in the bathrooms as it’s LVP. Fairmont properties are typically very nice, hopefully it’s just a 12th floor issue.

As nice as the hotel is, the rooms are just very average at best. Not very large, not great beds, the bathroom was super poorly planned out wasting a ton of space that could have great improved it. This hotel focused on common areas being useful for convention type guests I’m sure. So, unless you are staying there for a convention, I would give this property an average rating. Maybe 3 out of 5. If you’re at a convention it’d be a 4 but just for proximity and usability for very large groups

We won't be staying here again. First, we get into our room, and they don't have top sheets on the bed. Only a bottom sheet, and a comforter. I realize that's popular in Europe, but I'm not there and i expect a top sheet. The the AC unit is so loud. When there AC would come on, it sounded like there was a truck ideling in our room. I've never heard so much noise in a hotel room. There was no trashcan in our room. So we end up just throwing our trash in a pile on the floor. Kinda disgusting but they didn't leave us any other choice. They also have the Google Cast TV's, which only work have the time. That's not this hotel's fault, it's the case with all hotels that use this technology. It never works very well. I prefer to the smart tv's that have apps on them. We really aren't that picky, but because of all of this together, we won't be staying at this hotel next time we are in Austin. We have stayed at other Fairmont's that were much better quality and we loved them. But that was not the case here.

Our room had a great view but at night the traffic sounded so loud. We stayed on a high floor, and perhaps the buildings surrounding the property amplified the sound from the street. The food from the restaurant was amazing!

The hotel was beautiful but the front check in staff made people wait for hours. They had no staff and the two guys who were working took about 20 minutes with each guest to check them in. They were slow, didn't care, and just chatted with each other like they were on vacation themselves. They didn't care that there was a lineup of people waiting.

Overall ok. However, no free internet. Call for front desk and u get an automated machine, AI help. Obviously used to save money. One rooms shower was clogged. The other room had a spot of something red on the skirt of the bed. This was bed close to window in room 2345. We were not informed the hot tub would be disassembled due to construction during our stay. Nothing ruins the mood more than a group a 7 guys busting their as-es when we were in pool. Finally, we were surrounded by building construction, and the area is surrounded by homeless. Were approached 2x in 2 days.

Wonderful Stay at the Fairmont Austin! I stayed at the Fairmont Austin from November 1st to November 2nd and had an amazing experience. The room was spotless, comfortable, and had a beautiful view of downtown Austin. The location was perfect — everything I needed was within easy distance. What really stood out was the excellent customer service. I requested a late checkout and was initially charged $150, but when I spoke with Angel at the front desk, he went above and beyond to assist me. He checked with the manager and got the charge removed, which I truly appreciated. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality, and this experience definitely makes me want to book again in the future. Highly recommend the Fairmont Austin!

Reception staff was excellent, but the pool staff was not. My wife went down to save a couple poolside chairs at 6:30am, but when we arrived later, 2 ladies were in the chairs and refused to move even though we explained we saved them. The pool staff heard the fact that we saved the seats, but instead of asking the ladies to move, he got 2 lounge chairs and put them by an active and noisy area of the pool for us. Knowing the facts of us saving the chairs we were very disappointed with how the pool staff handled the situation. This will not deter these ladies or others from doing it again. This was our last day at the hotel celebrating our anniversary, not a good way to end our vacation. We travel a lot and have many friends and family we know that travel - this hotel will be coming off our list of recommendations.

Very nice room, staff, and overall stay. The north-facing rooms right now look out over the huge construction pit that is the convention center reno, we had a south-facing room that was a nicer view (although river view is entirely blocked by other new construction at this point). On-site parking (garage under the building) was convenient for going in and out a lot during the day, although it was pricy. The only things I didn't love that were pretty minor: the road noise from I-35 would have annoyed my if we didn't have the A/C running all night creating enough white noise to drown it out, the pool was packed on Saturday with day-pass people who weren't staying at the hotel which made it harder to find a chair, and I wish they had drinking water filling stations. It was good overall though, I'd come back.

Overall, they stay was great, but my suggestion is to provide a heads up that major construction is taking place in and around the area and that the noise level is not tolerable, especially on a Sunday when the construction at the site next door is in full swing. Perhaps providing earplugs in the rooms would be helpful for future guests. It really is something that should be considered.

We enjoyed our stay at the Fairmont Austin. We especially loved the pool area. It seemed like there was enough seating, especially during the weekdays. The service at the pool was pretty good, but it was harder to get service on Thursday afternoon which was also very busy with guests. Everyone working throughout the hotel was pleasant. The worst experience was during breakfast Tuesday. There were only 2-3 other tables but we waited at least 25 minutes for our food. The server only checked in once during that time. We had to take the food to go because we had an appointment. The hotel was close to plenty of restaurants and shopping. I would recommend the Fairmont.

The room was very comfortable and quiet. Nice view of pool. The breakfast choices were very limited. Take out from a market/cafe offered very few things to eat and the restaurant menu was extremely limited to large over priced choices. Coffe was never hot anywhere and food was mediocre.

Room service and dining-in options leave a lot to be desired. We had to order from Uber Eats, and by the time we found out that the hotel wouldn't allow nor would deliver the food to our door, which was much needed… it was cold and un-eatable. The attitude I got from the front desk person was also in poor taste and indeed not customer friendly. When asked for feedback, I was told management would handle and remedy the situation. The issue wasn't resolved. No one called or followed up. From that perspective, I am extraordinarily dissatisfied with the stay. Service makes it or breaks it. The hotel is beautiful, and our 36th-floor view is spectacular.

Fairmont is a beautiful hotel and has some great staff, but a few things let it down. Breakfast buffet regardless of the pricey $30 a head is very poor and unappealing, and housed in what seems to be a large dimly lit cupboard, and for 1 gluten free person in our party there is very little gf on offer and the breakfast staff don't really understand what's on offer or seem to care or generally look after that area. The small shop in the Hotel although pricey and the IHOP across the road were the saving grace for breakfast during our stay. Hotel pool on 7th floor could be great but the nearby building noise is near deafening and the new skyscrapers block out the sun for most of the pool by mid afternoon. Coupled with the fact that the pool area facing the sun in the morning is Cabana rental areas only, it's quite a let down. The car park is $54 a night with tax and although similar to other Hotels down town Austin doesn't make it acceptable, and to top that, the card system only works occasionally and most times you need to call help to get in or out the garage. The room we had was apparently an upgrade to the 37th floor, but the air con was deafening and didn't work correctly and eventually we had to switch rooms. Generally the hotel seems to cater mostly for large corporate functions and doesn't seem to care for individual visitors or couples.
