If you are planning a trip to Port Renfrew, this is a good option, the location is great for a short walk for evening meal or beverage, five minutes walk to the Renfrew Hotel. A short drive to several amazing beaches, a great, local coffee shop (that also serves beer) and an all round break from the madness.

For Port Renfrew, options are limited, we had a nice stay overall but some minor issues that could have made it better. Check in was contact less but as we were on the road we lost communication, and checked in at guest. It seems they wanted no contact and were told to check our email for code to access our suite. When we got there, parking is a little distance, not a lot of parking and the door code would not work. So we had to call someone while carrying our luggage to the send floor. The place is quiet and clean, room size was ok. TV had no channels that really work other than UTube. I would suggest to bring a dvd machine, data is also not stable around this area for a streaming device.

The hotel is set back in a quiet wooded area. Room was basic but clean and updated. There’s a great little coffee “shop” on the property. Great value! I’ll stay here again!

The slogan is "Wild Renfrew" BUT the outside lights - doorway, balcony, patio, stairs etc. - were on ALL NIGHT LONG!!! Meaning electricity serving about 50 lamps WHOLE NIGHT and EVERY NIGHT. What an ecoligical waste!?!? AND I couldn t sleep - way too bright!

Room was clean and good amenities. Lights on building are on all night for security. I asked and they removed one so was darker in room. Windows did not have full blackout drapes. Asked about doing laundry - they didnt have facility i could use. No boats out of dock nearby. Just hiking trails. Great restaurant/pub onsite. Internet good most ofvthe time. Very good & friebdly staff.

Clean, nice room with comfy beds. It was hot out so everyone had their windows open, which means everyone can hear everything. It worked out since all guests were quiet but it may be hard for those with yappy dogs or crying kids. My only wish was that there was more outdoor seating on the property, like benchs or picnic tables. Definitely bring groceries with you since there is only 1 sitdown restaurant in the area.

The property was a beautiful place to stay after a long day of hiking. The room was very clean and had a great little kitchenette. Water pressure was kind of low but to be expected so remote and the water was nice and hot and bathroom very clean. Wifi wasn't great but sort of enjoyed being disconnected for a few days. Apparently there was a bear nearby (we were told be staff) but we didn't see it. Enjoyed the Beach Camp coffee and chatting with it' s friendly staff. Renfrew Pub was delicious. All in all a great stay.

Our room was very clean and comfortable, with everything we needed in the room. Check in was pleasant. However, we were not aware that there was limited dining in the area and were not prepared to scramble to find breakfast options, as we were there just before the summer season started. There was one nearby pub that served dinner but very expensive to eat there.

Very nice hotel. No contact check in was easy. We were the only ones there, was midweek. Very quiet. Nice pub nearby. It's the only place to eat during the week in winter. It's quite good, great service. Nice hiking at the beach. Room was comfortable. TV didn't have much available. Clean except the coffee pot still had the last guests grounds and coffee in it. Everything else was quite clean.

The room feels newly renovated and was small but comfortable. Felt like a hidden gem! pros: affordable, comfortable beds, amazing location, amazing view, free parking, close to restaurant, beaches, and hikes. Cons: was not thoroughly cleaned (garbage under beds), did not have coffee filters so could not make coffee with the machine and grounds provided. While I enjoyed the contactless check-in there felt like there was no oversight or staff presence to receive help and the guest services are not responsive. There is no A/C so you must leave the windows open which limits privacy and led to early mornings due to loud hikers packing up for their west coast trail journey.

Friendly staff, quiet. The room had garbage left behind from the last guests (dirty chip bags in the drawers) and the bath tub was dirty. There was a super bright light right outside our window and the blinds barely blocked it out making it very hard to sleep. Overall not horrible, however it wasn’t exactly cheap.

we stayed two nights. upon arrival, our fridge was not working. with no onsite maintenance, we were told to hold tight and they would email us . By the next morning we had not heard back but we reported back that to them that we resolved the issue. service was friendly but aloof. The rooms were simple and had been updated but the linens were lacking with the sheets and mattress protection coming off the bed. wifi was inconsistent and weak which made using the television impossible. Being in the lower level was noisy with people going in and out. The room was also very bright due to outdoor lighting and in adequate shades.

We really enjoy our stays here. Updated, clean and comfortable. We had a bit of trouble this stay with our TV which was sorted the following day if our arrival. This particular rooms layout could be rethought a bit and the toilet was a bit wobbly but all very minor things that didn't take away from our experience. Looking forward to our next stay.

Stayed at West Coast Trail Lodge in Aug 2025 as a family (two adults, two kids in a deluxe room with kitchenette). It was a solid "pretty good", which is more or less exactly what we expected. PROS: Really nice location and scenic grounds with the north-facing "front" rooms offering a view of Port San Juan. The Beach Camp coffee truck on site has AMAZING coffee (and the owner is pretty cool). Rooms was stocked with usual hotel coffee / tea, refrigerator & microwave. It was nice and clean, had ample hot water and was a 3 minute walk to the Renfrew Pub - the main restaurant in town (and I think owned by the same company). CONS: They try to do an Air B&B-style check in and automate the process so you don't have to talk to staff. While I get how this could be useful, the process didn't really work for us... I didn't receive any check-in details via e-mail, and the front desk staff seemed annoyed when I came in to guest services in-person. After a circular discussion about a check-in e-mail I didn't receive, I was given a check-in paper (but no check-out info). I didn't receive the check-out e-mail until after we left, and it was different from the information posted in the room. Other trivial things were that the TV was very slow (probably due to a full hotel & limited bandwidth), beds were hard and the kitchenette sink tap was broken. These were minor things that weren't

Pros: - clean - free parking - good location Cons: - limited guest services (certain hours only) in separate building - poor wifi and TV didn’t work - were told to use cell phone data to hot spot the ROKU!?! - 10 am check out time; no response to request to extend slightly - not much privacy - poor air circulation - room was hot - tap water tastes sulphuric but no drinking water offered - parking lot view, no grounds to sit/spend time - small rooms, not even space for an extra chair

Check in was horrible. I had called the property in advance to tell them that I would be arriving late and ask what the check in protocol was and they assured me I just need to show up and someone will be there. I arrived exhausted at midnight and the office was closed. I tried to call them and no one answered. I drove around the property for 20 minutes looking for someone to ask about check in and couldn’t find anyone. I was trying to find another hotel to book when it was only by a struck of luck I went up to the main building and found a mailbox with a key. Would’ve been helpful if I was told late check in protocol when I called in and was given misinformation…

The place is quiet and clean, room size was ok. TV had no channels that really work other than UTube. I would suggest to bring a dvd machine, data is also not stable around this area for a streaming device.

Check in was contact less but as we were on the road we lost communication, and checked in at guest. It seems they wanted no contact and were told to check our email for code to access our suite. Very laid back setting. Clean with adequate standard amenities. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We were having difficulty accessing some TV functions and a staff member was happy to come up the road from the office to help us out.

Enjoyed are time here. However, having to deal with your own garbage and recycling to a non findable garbage was annoying. We had no contact with any staff - check in all online.

Great little motel in the heart of Port Renfrew. Next time we'll stay in a waterfront cabin but this was a good, less expensive option. Cute room and comfortable beds.

If you are planning a trip to Port Renfrew, this is a good option, the location is great for a short walk for evening meal or beverage, five minutes walk to the Renfrew Hotel. A short drive to several amazing beaches, a great, local coffee shop (that also serves beer) and an all round break from the madness.

It worked out since all guests were quiet but it may be hard for those with yappy dogs or crying kids. My only wish was that there was more outdoor seating on the property, like benchs or picnic tables. Definitely bring groceries with you since there is only 1 sitdown restaurant in the area.

quiet out of the way place, had a good rest, our bed was too soft though, other than hiking or fishing charters not much to do. no shopping or food stores, loved the cafe had a nice vibe we drove from Sooke so the road was super rough in our truck. A place to visit for the day!

However, we were not aware that there was limited dining in the area and were not prepared to scramble to find breakfast options, as we were there just before the summer season started. Room was excellent. Customer support by e mail was quick and efficient. Parking arrangements not so good, and couldn’t find trash and recycling when we were leaving. Only restaurant was the pub, where food and service were good, but not possible to book and long wait time.

The hotel is set back in a quiet wooded area. Room was basic but clean and updated. There’s a great little coffee “shop” on the property. Great value! I’ll stay here again!

Remote and beautiful area, surrounded by gorgeous trees and wildlife. Our room and bed were comfortable and the room had all of the basics. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The nearby pub was convenient and offered tasty food and cocktails. We are ready to go back and stay longer!

We stayed 2 nights for a hiking adventure. There were no options close for dining, small town, but walked to a "Pub" on the wharf that was fine for dinner. The room was clean, but no options for housekeeping while we were there. There also was no ice machine or freezer in the room, which was inconvenient with a knee injury. Although the Lodge had limitations and a monosyllable staff, there were few options available in the area, so it was convenient.

The property was a beautiful place to stay after a long day of hiking. The room was very clean and had a great little kitchenette. Water pressure was kind of low but to be expected so remote and the water was nice and hot and bathroom very clean. Wifi wasn't great but sort of enjoyed being disconnected for a few days. Immaculate room in beautiful setting. Whole area tastefully done with driftwood and green plants. Short walk to The Renfrew Pub and the pier. Must visit here for food and views. Check in was by email with key code. Guest services very helpful when I needed to make a phone call. Highly recommend
