What guests think

Across many reviews, Residence Inn by Marriott Laval is praised for very clean, spacious suites with well‑equipped kitchenettes, friendly staff, and a generally solid complimentary breakfast, making it a comfortable, good‑value base for families and longer stays.

Drivers like the easy access to highways and nearby attractions such as Carrefour Laval and the Cosmodome, though several note the area is not very walkable and less convenient for downtown or airport trips. Suites feel modern and quiet, but multiple reviews cite HVAC problems or noise and uncomfortable sofa beds. Housekeeping is generally good yet not daily by default and occasionally inconsistent, and breakfast—while appreciated—can feel repetitive or short on items at peak times. Expect a clean, roomy suite hotel best suited to self‑catering travelers with a car.

The room set up was very good. However, the navigation on the floor was to complex. We had an elderly person with mobility limitations and our room was located at the far end of the floor. We didn't know how far the room was located from the one elevator.

The staff was outstanding. Everyone was polite and helpful. The breakfast buffet was really busy when we were there but they handled it very well. There is an electric vehicle charger at the back. It uses an app called AmbuEnergy which takes a while to verify so i would suggest downloading it in advance. It was supper convenient to have a fridge and stove to make meals. There is a dishwasher if you want to use it bring some tabs, but the sink is deep and useful. The fire alarm only went of once and very briefly.

Convenient- sort of - off of the many over-trafficked Montreal highways. Construction or heavy use closed every highway leading to, or leaving the area without exaggeration. I used city streets to get out of the area and ended up taking a ferry to resume my highway travel to Ontario which was fun. Parking was ample and free. Wi-Fi was free. Staff were effortlessly bilingual and helpful. I arrived late and tired. The room was clean but a/c broken. 31 degrees outside 27 inside. I told the front desk a/c broken - they said ‘again?’- So obviously this room had a problem. It was long after midnight and I just wanted to sleep so I didn’t change rooms. The mattress was comfortable but the pillows smelled of something unpleasant like body odour/oil. I informed front desk so hopefully the room will be cleaned and serviced, found some less smelly pillows and tried to sleep but couldn’t. I was very tired driving the next day, I should have changed rooms. I chose the hotel based upon reviews, and the Marriott name - consistently good hotels. This one seems just to be an administrative Marriott, a purchase, not delivery Marriott hotel. The bath products are not White Tea products - which I love - and are now on the wall pump generic products. My second favourite hotel chain is Radisson and only second because they have fewer hotels and no White Tea bath products - but they are consistently nice rooms with nice beds. I’ll be looking for them now.

My room was quiet and comfortable. The hot breakfast was nice and I liked the grapefruit juice. Chef Mike was delightful. His food and his conversation were both very enjoyable. It was nice to have a full kitchen even if I couldn't reach most of the shelves unless I used the counter stool. On the con side: my "city view" was of a giant pile of snow and my king size bed was actually queen size.

The facility was clean, had every amenity, and the staff was courteous and helpful. The location, however, was not ideal as it was not in close proximity to other locations we needed to access (downtown or airport) and there was nothing within walking distance. Nestled between freeways, even accessing food 6 minutes away took us on a three freeway loop.

The hotel has been recently renovated, everything feels clean and new. The kitchen is great. The rooms (or at least ours) are not big, but are well distributed, so the space feel nice. It is right off the highway, which is convenient, if you have a car. There are shopping centers nearby, and a coffee place at a walking distance. The area is not walkable, especially at night. Overall we had a good stay.

Family stay for tourist purposes /5 people/. Even though the hotel is not in the center, it allows easy access to the center of Montreal. The apartment is well-equipped and spacious. Even though they are close to the highway, the rooms are quiet. Efficient air conditioning. If I could suggest anything, it would be to ask for some vegetables for breakfast. The hotel staff is nice and willing to help. A hotel worth recommending.

Stayed here because it advertised full kitchen rooms. Booked a huge room for my family of 6, in a room stating it had a full kitchen. Turns out it didn't have an oven. Brought meals specifically for oven use. Couldn't eat them. Asked the staff about it, said I couldn't use an oven. Turns out you have to CALL and ask specifically for an oven, even though my online booking says FULL kitchen. False advertising. Morning breakfast was simply ok. Every morning there was something missing for coffee. One morning they ran out of coffee. Another they ran out of cream.

The hotel was decent facility overall. The front desk staff were good. The only challenge was on the housekeeping. We were there for 4 days and 3 nights and for 2 days, there were no housekeeping cleaning that took place in the rooms even when requested. We were advised that there was a do not disturb sign and hence no cleaning was done. This was not correct. More diligence on housekeeping of rooms would be appreciated. Also not much hot breakfast item options for vegetarian people other than eggs. A limited variety in this regard.
