What guests think
Across reviews of Great Fortune Hotel & SPA, guests praise the central location but note compact rooms, weak soundproofing, and uneven facility upkeep, with frequent pool complaints and occasional in-room maintenance problems such as nonworking TVs or air conditioning.
Reception and staff are widely described as friendly and helpful, though a few reviews mention poor follow-through or upselling. Breakfast and cleanliness receive mixed feedback, and the hammam and spa are praised more often than the pool. Most suitable for visitors who spend their time in the city rather than at the hotel.

Facilities
Spa and hammam receive praise, but the pool is frequently described as small, cold, or unappealing, and some wellness areas were out of service. Maintenance issues like nonworking TVs and AC, and signs of renovation, were also noted.

I had a truly wonderful experience at the Great Fortune Hotel & Spa. The hotel itself is in a fantastic location, offering both comfort and convenience, but what made my stay especially memorable was the outstanding service provided by the staff. A very special thanks goes to Bunyamin, the receptionist, whose professionalism, kindness, and genuine hospitality made me feel welcomed from the very first moment. He went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect during my stay. His attention to detail, warm smile, and helpful guidance truly elevated my experience. I would also like to sincerely thank his colleague Sarkan, who was equally attentive and courteous. Together, they created an atmosphere of comfort and trust, making me feel at home even while being away. The hotel facilities, cleanliness, and spa experience were excellent, but it is the outstanding team spirit and dedication of Bunyamin and Sarkan that I will always remember. They are a real credit to the hotel, and because of them, I would not hesitate to recommend Great Fortune Hotel & Spa to anyone visiting Istanbul. I look forward to returning soon.

Stayed on and off during trip and so had three different rooms. Great location, but hotel seems a bit under renovation. In all three rooms the TVs didn’t work (they couldn’t fix them - we didn’t care but others might). One room had no electricity and guy came and blew out whole floor. He fixed that but then AC didn’t work. One room shower didn’t work. Last room but not have been ready after a renovation - no soap holders in shower, no toilet paper holder, refrigerator not plugged in, TV not plugged in (and there was no where to plug it in. The cleaning women do a great job. The guys at front nice but not sure they know how to troubleshoot.

They are only trying to profit from you. All the businesses surrounding the hotel, including the hotel's staff, will attempt to sell their items at prices up to 10 times higher, under the guise of friendliness. If they notice you are aware of their tactics, then you should be careful. Btw, their Turkish Hamam was amazing.

Lovely hotel. The place is spotless from the minute you walk into check in was quick and shown to your room. Comfortable beds, shower gel shampoo ect all there would definitely stay again. Only criticism would be they need soft close on toilet and the doors . We only got 3 hours sleep the night we have to be up for a flight as people in the r hall laughing knocking banging doors for hours. I did call down and staff did come up and address it but because all doors not soft close the banging continues . Great location to all you would want to see

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. The staff was polite and helpful throughout my stay, which I greatly appreciated. However, I was disappointed to find that my bedroom was not clean upon arrival and was not cleaned properly during my stay. This aspect definitely needs improvement to ensure a more pleasant stay for future guests.

We stayed at this hotel recently and unfortunately the overall experience was disappointing. The property itself felt quite old and worn out, from the furniture to the bedding, which didn’t feel fresh or comfortable. While the staff was polite and helpful throughout our stay, several facilities were not up to standard. A baby cot was not available on the first night, and when provided the next day, it appeared unclean and too small for our baby’s height. The iron board was tiny, the bin lid didn’t work properly, and the TV wasn’t functioning at all. Breakfast was below average with limited variety, and there were no baby-friendly options such as porridge. For families traveling with young children, this was a major drawback. Overall, despite the kind staff, the condition of the hotel and its amenities fell short of expectations.

The hotel has great staff and extremely helpful. I have previously stayed at the hotel a few times and it looks like they have made the rooms smaller. I have never stayed in a room this small. The location and area have always been great but due to the recent increase in tourists it’s now an extremely busy area. You can barely get a taxi and we ended up walking further out to catch a taxi. Again great staff who do everything they can to give you a pleasant stay.

Personale poco disponibile. Piscina e spa terribile con poca privacy.

A low end hotel with old building and otger facilities. The rooms and bathrooms are tiny, and the lifts can't accommodate more than 3 persons. The best thing about the hotel is its location as it is conveniently located near the main attractions and also has lot of food options nearby. The staff was friendly and supportive .

Rooms are mighty cosy - the breakfast could be much better - but, the location is terrific, real 5-9 mins to Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern etc. The hookah/sheesha place few meters down is awesome. The hotel has NO parking, and tbh, it is silly to hire a rental if youre going to be just Istanbul bound - no easy parking... The multi-stort otoparks are going to cost ~350 TLR/day - and the car will be mostly parked. The streets are mighty narrow, what googlemaos shows as a 5 min walk would be 20 mins drive.

Amazing location, beautiful lobby, superb staff. The rooms were also very nice and clean. We were there to see the sites so we slept in the hotel but it was a great refuge. The location was out of this world and we had easy access to all the sites. We had a great time here and felt like we had lots of assistance from the staff but never pressure to act on any tour suggestions etc. They were nothing but professionals. Thanks for a great stay.
