Property was average. Staff was welcoming and very helpful. Check in and out was easy.Like most of the hotels we stayed at in this trip across Maine and Nova Scotia, the bathrooms lacked a safety bar in showers and /or tub as well as anti skid strips/mat. Hotel is located close to the wharf and the Catamaran ferry to Maine. There was no elevator.

This is a nice little motel. It is reasonable, clean and the staff are great, especially, Mike, who cooks great bacon and eggs! The pool is clean and the place is quiet. We stayed for three nights while we toured the area, and would highly recommend a stay at the Mermaid Inn.

The hotel was nice, comfortable and an ideal location, however was really disappointed that the outdoor pool was closed and we hadn’t been informed. We had chosen this hotel BECAUSE it had an outdoor pool, and may have chosen elsewhere if we had known.

This hotel is centrally located in Yarmouth. Our room was clean, spacious, updated. Good parking. Excellent staff. Wonderful breakfast included. We arrived in Yarmouth on a Sunday...the city was pretty much closed down. The next day we went to see some of the historical sights & they were closed for the season (Sept 21). If you plan to visit Yarmouth, this motel is a great place to stay. But a day in Yarmouth is quite enough.

Wonderful experience! ordered two rooms attached for our family of 6 which was perfect and roomy! Front desk service was awesome, thank you for helping us with whatever our questions or needs were!! The pool was lovely, my kids 9, 12, 14, 16 loved it. Tim horton, kfc, mcdonalds, wendy's are across the street and something fun for the kids to walk to if they wanted anything.

Very poor maintenance around the property many things broken and patched together. The outdoor pool was extremely dirty and there was not enough water in the pool to filter properly. Upon checking into room it was very dirty we had to ask for a broom just so we could sweep the floor. The window was broken and the toilet was broken as well. We accepted everything and took it upon ourselves to clean up and fix things so we could stay without bothering the staff. The cleaning staff smoked while they work so the whole upper level was full of cigarette smoke. We made the best of situation and let things slide but to top everything off after checking out they contacted us and blamed us for the broken window and told us we would be charged. The employee that made the call was extremely rude. Maybe that’s then only way they can do repairs properly to the building?? Obviously they normally don’t check the room very thoroughly considering we left the room cleaner and in better condition then it was when we arrived. We Would not recommend this place to anybody. Lots better options in the same location.

This had to be the worst room ever of all the motels that we have stayed at. When we first entered the room you could feel the dampness of the surroundings. Everything in the room was damp. The furniture, the bedding etc. We turned the heat on to see if we could dry it out, and my wife went and had a shower and had the fan on in the shower room and mopped up the floor where she had dripped water with the bath towel, but, even next morning it was still damp. The bedding was still damp and the clothes I had layed out to wear next morning were damp and the floor right to the front door was damp. Our luggage were damp on the bottom from sitting on the floor. As I said, I've never experienced such poor accomodations.

We stayed on the bottom of 2 floors. There are no elevators. The noise from upstairs was bad. We could hear every time they walked or rolled bags or whatever. The insulation between the 2 floors was not good. I called the front desk once, but it was an ongoing problem.

The breakfast included was great , they make eggs custom for you, and have normal buffet items with good choices. The towels were really nice, bedding also. We give 4 stars because the air conditioner was old and made a lot of noise. My husband had to wear noise cancelling ear buds. Sink faucet was not long enough to brush teeth.

Photos do not exemplify poor quality of exterior and interior of rooms. Kitchenette and furniture were from the 1950’s. Breakfast was mediocre. Description on Expedia said hotel was short walk to ferry dock, when in reality, it was 25 blocks on a busy highway. We were on the 2nd floor in front with noisy traffic and motorcycles reving their engines all night. I am handicapped and requested a first floor room, and was refused because of booking on Expedia.. I suspect this is partially a weekly rental hotel for the homeless. . All this for $200 night! We would have driven on to another town had it not been for an early morning ferry tide to Maine. Don’t get fooled by BW advertising.

The gentleman at the desk was pleasant. They offer a cooked to order breakfast from 6-9 that you order the night before. Our room was great. Nice big fluffy pillows and comfortable beds. The only problem was the bathroom. It was so small I could barely close the door once inside. I decided to skip the shower because my daughter said the shower head had something green growing on it and honestly it just wasn’t worth the hassle in that tiny area. Otherwise yes I would stay there again.

Arrived to check in after driving over 2 hours to get there. Told him my reservation and he said it would be up to me but i reserved their last room and it had no tv, no heat and no microwave then just chuckled. WHY WOULD U RENT A ROOM OUT THATS CLEARLY NOT FIT TO STAY IN IN 2 DEG WEATHER???? We have always stayed there but will never be back ever. Check-in was extremely frustrating. The reservation was made under Curtis Swinimer with my credit card, with payment to be made at the property. However, when my wife, Denise Swinimer, arrived to check in, the clerk insisted the room had already been charged. After twenty minutes of back-and-forth, the clerk finally sorted it out, but she was not particularly friendly throughout the process. I ultimately had to send a screenshot of the reservation showing that we had selected the ‘pay at property’ option.

The front desk requested that we fill out a pre order breakfast form (which included 2 eggs and 2 bacon or a waffle) and then didn’t have 2/3 of the breakfast items (bacon or waffles) listed on the preorder form. We waited 15 minutes for breakfast and then confirmed our order and was told there were no waffles or bacon which is why we were waiting. This preorder from should help them get orders out quicker, not the other way around. The staff there were unapologetic as well. Breakfast buffet would be better for this location, they are very disorganized. The tv remote did not work even after we asked for new batteries. The A/C unit clicked all night long when in use, and the walls aren’t sound proof, you can hear people in other rooms. Overpriced for want we received.

We like the proximity to the ferry boat. There are many restaurants within walking distance to the hotel. Major shopping area / gasoline stations are approximately 1 mile away. The breakfast buffet is a great way to start the day before hitting the road. 4 separate NS vacations have started and ended at this property.

Did not like the breakfast. They do not put out any hot food and it has to be ordered the day before. The picture on their ad shows hot food serving containers but that was not the option. You get 1 little egg and bacon, very disappointing.
