Across reviews, travellers describe hotel le coach as a small, budget-friendly boutique spot with exceptionally kind staff, very clean spaces, and an excellent location near Berri-UQAM metro, though rooms are compact and stairs replace elevators.
Many guests note thin walls and limited temperature control or ineffective AC, leading to noise and warmth at times. The neighborhood is central and handy for transit, restaurants, and sights, but several reviewers found nearby streets a bit rough or noisy at night. Expect a simple, well-priced stay with standout service.

Front desk personnel very helpful. The room was very clean and simple. I loved the stay but two issues must be noted: 1. Housekeeping would not replace used towels. I had to get the front desk to replace used towels taken by housekeeping. 2. Stair climbing is necessary. No rooms are on the first floor and no elevator exists in this old but wonderful hotel. All else was great, including the fridge in the room and microwave on the first floor which could be used by guests.

O hotel é muito bom, mas simples. Não tem elevador e o quarto não é grande. Em compensação o atendimento é otimo e a localização é excelente. Pertinho da estação de onibus( 700 metros) e perto do centro. No geral o hotel e nota 8!

Great for a short stay, best budget hotel in Montreal, close to everything, It's in the heart of Old Montreal and perfect for taking a walk around town. Metro station was next to it. Staff was nice and helpful, small rooms. But, it was functional, It's a three story building with no elevator. So, if you have big oversized luggage be aware. There is a lot of street work and construction. Breakfast was coffee, toast, banana, apple. Microwave in lobby for use

As a solo traveler it was perfect for me. The rooms (including bathroom) were pretty small but I personally don't need much space. The hotel is located in a perfect area near a subway station and the Saint Catherine St which has a ton of restaurants and bars. The only issue for me was that there's no elevator so you have to walk up to your room. But I don't mind the exercise.

The room was very clean and pretty, the room was very small but it had everything we needed. Very close to the metro and lots of nearby shops and restaurants. No parking on the property, and all the nearby parkings lots were full making parking extremely hard to find.

We had an amazing stay at Hotel Le Coach. Every staff member we interacted with at reception was extremely friendly and genuinely helpful. On our first night, our bag was quite heavy, yet the gentleman at the front desk kindly offered to carry it right to our door without us even asking. When we checked out, the owner himself helped bring our bags to our Lyft, another thoughtful offer that really stood out. Our room was clean and comfortable, and having the café downstairs was a great bonus. We stayed for 6 nights and loved every part of our experience. My partner and I already plan to return in the summer, and we’ll definitely be staying here again. Thank you to everyone at Hotel Le Coach for making our first trip to Montreal unforgettable!

A nice boutique hotel that was easy to find, could park on the street overnight for free (as long as you could find a spot) and host was so nice and helpful. It was clean and comfortable. Would stay again. For perspective about a 35 min walk to the Bell Centre.

The room was great and the hospitality was beyond amazing. I had help for everything I needed and all three people I met throughout my stay were wonderful. The only thing to know before booking is that they don't have elevators. But they were happy to help me with my luggage and have a luggage storage downstairs. Would stay here everytime from now.

What a gem! The hotel is affordable, clean, comfortable, attractive, and convenient. The proprietor, George, could not have been kinder or more professional. It has been recently redone, so while the rooms and bathrooms are rather small, they are so nice and bright it doesn’t matter. We stayed in 306, the very top floor corner room, which I highly recommend (esp if you don’t mind steps or have lots of luggage to schlep). I will start inventing reasons to go to Montreal just to stay there again. There is free 15 minute parking just outside for check in/out, ample street parking close by (which is free from 9pm-9am) but because it is winter, we don’t speak French, and were staying longer we opted for the parking garage in the building next door (also clean, convenient and well-staffed for $25). Just a block from the main drag, and brisk 25 minute walk to the port. Nice little continental breakfast and coffee in the morn. Don’t miss Habibi schwarma around the corner- yum!

Very clean, with really nice sheets and towels etc.. in the room, and the bed was super comfortable. The staff were great and check-in was smooth. The area around is a bit rough at night but not concerning (I'm a single man travelling alone for work, so your experience might vary), I travel a lot for work to major cities and have stayed in much rougher areas in both Vancouver and Toronto than this by far. The Hotel is cute if a bit cramped and situated a block from the village- worth the tight space if you want to be near the action/nightlife. Would stay here again.

I recently stayed at this property and overall had a decent experience. The biggest advantage was definitely the location — it’s in an excellent spot, just a short walk from the metro, which made getting around the city extremely convenient. Whether you’re heading out for sightseeing or commuting for work, the accessibility is a huge plus. However, I did run into an issue with the air conditioning. While the listing stated that the rooms were air-conditioned, it turns out the AC is centralized and primarily serves the common areas like the hallways and building lobby. Unfortunately, it didn’t seem to have much effect inside the actual rooms, especially during the hotter days. The room stayed quite warm and didn’t cool down as much as I had hoped, which made it a bit uncomfortable at night. If you’re traveling during a cooler season, this probably won’t be a major issue, but during peak summer heat, it’s something to keep in mind. Otherwise, the location alone makes this a solid option for anyone looking to explore the city.

Amazing place, super quiet and clean. The rooms are beautiful and modern. Adam is such a kind person he really made our stay enjoyable. One thing that could be fixed is there is a tile that is higher leading into the bathroom (It could be a tripping hazard, my sister and I both tripped over it). Would definitely stay again.

Honestly, the hotel was very clean. Cleaner than my home. The room was very small. But compared to the discounted price, it was a decent size. The room was next to the street and was very noisy. People were partying overnight and it was hard to sleep. I would suggest them the replace the windows with sound proof ones. Except this, the hotel was excellent. I will not hesitate to stay there again.

When I checked in the air conditioning was not working , it was 31 degrees outside , the manager and I think the owner assured me that they would repair it , they never did, so sleeping in a sauna was terrible, so I would not recommend this hotel. Go somewhere else.

First time stay at Le Coach, and it will be my “go-to” hotel for future visits to Montreal. The renovated three floors, reception and comptoir cafe in the lobby are stylish, compact and impeccably clean. Reception staff are bi-lingual and very cordial, always eager to assist and answer questions. On arrival and departure, I was assisted with my luggage to/from the third floor. When I inquired about taxi to the train, reception instead provided precise instructions for me to go by Metro (UQAM station immediately adjacent). Room amenities are high-end: toiletries, hair dryer, sheets/duvet/extra pillows. Floor so clean I could do my yoga practice in comfort. Hot water plentiful. Quiet. Warm in Montreal’s cold winter. Frank, at the reception/cafe, makes the perfect cafe latte! Location ideal with easy access to bus and train stations, metro, walking. Convenient to Village, Plateau, downtown, shopping, cafes. Walking to wide range of restaurants of all genres. Very safe. Le Coach is a well-managed boutique hotel that has extraordinary value for price.

George and his staff were welcoming and very understanding of car issues that resulted in a delay in check-in. He advised on parking in area and things to see and in Old Montreal. Overall, I had an excellent experience at Hotel Le Coach and will stay here again if visiting Montreal in the future.

My stay here was fantastic! This location had a lot of attractions walkable near it, and the short walk to the Berri-UQAM station made all of Montreal easy to access. My room was clean, stylish, and comfortable. Most especially great though were the staff! It was my first time in Montreal and they went out of their way to ensure I had everything I needed and made me feel at home, particularly Adam. These are the huge benefits of a small hotel like Hotel Le Coach - the people!

Location
Highly convenient location steps from Berri-UQAM metro, the coach/bus station, and many restaurants and bars. Some guests felt the immediate area can be sketchy or noisy at night despite the central, walkable setting.

It is a gem of a hotel and the free water bottles you get every day after they clean your room is a nice added bonus. This is my go to hotel when in Montreal from now on! The area can be a little sketchy at times but as long as you don’t walk around at night you should be ok.

I really liked the staff at the reception, they were super friendly and helpful. I was able to check in early, which was highly appreciated since I travelled during the whole night. The room was clean and comfortable, the only thing I didn't like that much was the neighborhood, but I felt safe the whole time and there was a metro stop nearby. There's also all kinds of places to eat nearby.

Dining
On-site café and light continental options draw praise for tasty coffee and lattes. Breakfast is simple and, at times, limited or inconsistent in availability.

This was our first visit to Montreal and we were delighted to find a clean, comfortable, and relaxing hotel stay that was walkable to all the best neighborhoods (next to Chinatown, close to Vieux Montreal and walkable to Quartier Latin and Plateau Montreal). Staff was friendly and welcoming. They had complementary coffee and fruit/yogurt/bagels in the morning, and they are apparently working on a setup for a full espresso machine and St. Viateur bagels in near future! The room was modest in size but very soft mattress and bedding, hot shower with good water pressure, and quiet, with everything we needed for two people.

Hotel le Coach exceeded my expectations. Hotel is renovated, very clean and comfortable. Location is excellent. Next to Berri UQAM subway. Easy to find paid street parking during the day. Free street parking 9 pm to 9 am. Pleasantly surprise at the free breakfast included in the morning with a good selection of coffee, tea, yogurt, apple, banana, croissant, toast etc..

Cute rooms! Loved the decor and vibe, kinda reminded me of Art Deco style. Lovely experience with the staff, Adam is amazing, went out of his way to help and show me around. He also makes the best lattes, coffees. Overall i’m happy i stayed here, good pricing, located close to the metro. Thank you!

Great location right next to the Metro (subway), clean room and friendly staff. The food in their cafe was a bit underwhelming, but I think that's more of an issue around the volume of customers that they get for that? I enjoyed my stay and would stay there again.

The room was very clean, as was the bathroom. I found the bed very comfortable and slept very well. The housekeeping staff also came in during our stay to tidy up, which not many places do anymore. The staff were all very polite and quite helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The room was small, but a previous review had mentioned that, so it wasn't a shock. And we were out for most of the time when we weren't sleeping, so the size wasn't an issue.

Outstanding thing about this property was the friendly, helpful staff. It's in a reasonable area for accessing the city, not too noisy at night, warm, safe, comfortable, a generous sized room. It's relatively no-frills but it was fine for a few nights. Definitely notable for the pleasant people working there.
