What guests think

Across recent reviews, Best Western Plus St Albert stands out for friendly, accommodating staff, very clean and comfortable rooms, a generally well-liked hot breakfast, and a convenient location close to restaurants, shopping, and easy drives into Edmonton.

Common drawbacks include recurring hot tub outages (and occasional pool closures) and a single elevator that can be slow or temporarily out of service. Some guests also note occasional low water pressure or hot-water delays, a somewhat dated feel in parts, and intermittent noise from outside. Beyond breakfast, there is no on-site restaurant or bar, though many places to eat are nearby. Overall, expect a clean, friendly, good-value stay with strong basics and a few facility hiccups.

Guests appreciate the pool and hot tub when available and note pet-friendly touches like a small dog run. However, the hot tub is repeatedly out of order (with occasional pool closures), and the single elevator can be slow or down.

Overall very good, i stay at this property several times a year and it is generally very good. This trip the elevator wasn't working properly which is unfortunate and made it longer to get between floors.

This was my second stay at this hotel. The staff (everyone from front desk to breakfast and cleaning) are the friendliest!! The property is kept in really good shape. They have a little dog run out a side door, which would be nice if you brought a dog. I will definitely stay here for again. Also, only about a 25 min ride down the Henday to got to West Edmonton mall or downtown. Very convenient location.

Very clean from parking lot to entrance and reception area, hallways and stairs. Check-in, check-out we’re both quick, professional and courteous. Our room was immaculately clean and welcoming. Place was very quiet despite being full to capacity. Beds very comfortable which afforded us to sleep in.

This is a very nice hotel. We got a king suite which was spacious and comfortable. Two small things though, there is only one small elevator for a rather big hotel. We were forever waiting for it and it was always crowded Also, the shower heads are extremely low flow. It took forever to rinse my hair.

I've travelled across 3 countries, without needing a credit card, for 13 years. This is the first occurrence, where I was denied check in, because I wouldn't give them a $50 deposit for incidentals. I had paid for the room through Expedia, beforehand. This is an archaic policy. You have all my information and if I destroyed a room, you have legal recourse. A credit card would only be good for the amount of credit left on it. I will not stay at another Best Western property as they were also non-responsive to my email to corporate.

When we checked in, they charged a damage deposit to our credit card on top of the prepaid amount for the room. We were told that the damage deposit would be refunded at checkout. There was no damage. It took a month of communication with the hotel to get the damage deposit amount refunded to our credit card account. Seems like a scam to us!

My brother was in an accident and we rushed from Manitoba. During my stay I caught some sort of flu and was very sick and had my 86 year old father with me. My brother was medivac to Edmonton but I was too sick to follow. After telling them I was checking out early to follow my brother to Edmonton I now told them I was too sick to leave. The staff were absolutely unbelievably kind to us. Making sure I had water and sending up gravol dropped off for me. When checking out the girl at the desk loaded all our luggage as I was still weak. Manager has an amazing team!!!! Oh and breakfast was great!!! We are now in Edmonton close to hospital here and my father keeps saying “at that good hotel…” thank you!!! Oh and I don’t know why my name is showing up as my husband. But I am Donna Wilson and very thankful for the kindness shown to me and my father in a difficult time!!!

Didn't like being charged the 100.00 damage deposit "in case we were found to have damaged the room or smoked in it". Also when I booked the room I indicated there would be three adults staying there. When I checked in I was questioned about the number of people staying in the room. All of this felt very accusatory as we never disrespect the rules of any hotels we stay at. It was just a strange vibe with front desk. Breakfast was average only.
