What guests think

At Sleep Suite Motel, travelers consistently highlight clean rooms, friendly and welcoming staff, quiet nights, and solid value in a handy location near shops and restaurants, making it a practical stopover for Steinbach visits or avoiding pricier stays in Winnipeg.

Many mention the basic continental breakfast as acceptable but limited, with some items running out and few gluten-free choices. Rooms are simple and somewhat dated, with mixed feedback on mattresses and pillows and occasional noise transfer through thin walls or hallway doors. Check-in can be slow at times, and several guests note awkward access to the parking lot from the boulevard. Expect a straightforward, good-value stay.

We had sever people staying several nights in several rooms. We’ve stayed multiple times before. Staff were friendly. Parking is free and plenty. Getting into the parking lot is a bit if a fuss. Prices are affordable but the property is starting to run down and show wear and tear. The beds were still comfortable enough but the air conditioning/ heaters needed a good cleaning, which staff did as soon as it was pointed out. Breakfast is yogurt, cereal, muffins/bread and hard boiled eggs. But, if you want somewhere affordable, albeit simple, this is a good spot.

Only issue we had was trying to get out of the parking lot. We had a uhaul and a trailer woth a car attached. 3 ppl parked infront of the front entrance lane so no one could go around it blocked us in. we had to back the uhaul trailer with a car between 2 cars and not hit them to get turned around to get back on the road. Whole reason we parked at the far end so we could get out and not be blocked in but that plan didnt work lol we eventually got out but it was certainly a challenge. Suggestion maybe a designated parking spot for uhaul also pulling car behind them.

A drunken party arrived around midnight, with 10 friends in tow. They ran the halls, yelling and shouting, and absolutely nothing was done. The front desk didn't address it. Finally the group of friends left at 1:38am, and it was only minutely better. It finally quieted about 3am which is when i finally got to sleep. The hotel have me a $20 credit.

Overall, my experience here was average: not bad, not good, just okay. The receptionist was friendly and polite. The check in process was slower than at other places I had stayed at because they had to photocopy my ID (although the worker did respect my wish to simply write down the info without photocopying anything) and write down the credit card info to “verify” me (it was the first time a motel did this to me) even though I payed through Expedia and thought that was enough for my “verification”. While the worker did explain the reason why they had to do it, other motels have a faster and less “invasive” check in process. The room itself did not feel clean, I could see the walls weren’t wiped in a while. Funny thing, their soap bar was impossible to wash off, but that’s just a little thing I thought to mention so you will bring your own soap. Their breakfast was good, although their yogurt was past Best Before date (by 1 day so I guess that’s okay). They had boiled eggs, muffins (that were curiously too moist), bread, and cereal. A solid 3 star experience.
