Best place to live in Gaspe!! Arcade & Cinema to keep kid's busy are part of the property though they are not included in your stay. No elevators at this property however the stairs to rooms are not more than 7-8. Great location and views of the bay.

The hotel was pretty nice. Having the restaurant on site was a plus since we arrived late. The room and bathroom were all clean and neat. It’s in the middle of town so there is a lot close by. The only down side was no elevator on site. Luckily we only had to go down one set of stairs. We aren’t spring chickens anymore and when you’re traveling for a long period of time it makes the suitcase a little heavier.

Hôtel Baker is a thoughtfully updated historic property with modern touches and some character from its past still showing through. They’re currently renovating the lower level to include a movie theatre and arcade, which looks like it will be a fun addition. Our room was modern, clean, and comfortable, but after about an hour we noticed water on the bathroom floor from a leak in the room above. The staff responded right away — they checked the situation and offered us a new room. The only available option was smaller and in the older section of the building, but it was still fine for our needs. We appreciated the staff’s prompt attention and their offer of a partial refund for the inconvenience. Check-in service was excellent, and although our room wasn’t ready when we arrived around 4 pm, we were able to relax in the comfortable lobby and plan our activities. Beds were very comfortable, and we appreciated having a fridge and a Keurig coffee maker in the room. The hotel is in a great location — just a short walk from Rue de la Reine with its cafés, restaurants, and shops. One note: there’s no elevator, so you do need to carry your luggage up and down stairs — but the hotel is only two floors, and staff offered to help.

Showing the effects of a busy summer. Rm 214, paint peeling in bathroom, dirty corners , bathroom door decaying at bottom, a/c old and tired, coffee maker in room didn't work. Nice check in and out but place needs work.

I have traveled to every continent in the world, and this is one of the cleanest hotels I have been to. By cleanliness I am referring to the cleanliness of the floors, the curtains, the air quality, the washrooms, and everything else. As a person with many allergies, this place is one of the rare hotels who passed the test for me.

The staff was very friendly, and the hotel was clean and beautiful in a great location. Our only suggestion would be to stock the room fridge with water or small items for purchase, as it was empty during our stay. Otherwise, everything was excellent and we highly recommend it!

We had a great experience at this hotel. The location was very convenient, and our room had a beautiful view of the river and ocean. The bathroom of our room was very small. The exhaust did not remove mositure at all. The European shower glass was too short and water splashed on the floor made it hard to move around in a already small bathroom. Window curtains could not close fully and was ripped in certain parts.

Clean, comfortable room. No elevator despite there being multiple floors. The staff was friendly and professional and spoke both English and French with ease. Breakfast was skipped because of the high prices on the menu. An affordable (or included) breakfast would have been welcomed. Lovely water-view room. Stayed one night while traveling through Gaspe.

Our room was modern, clean, comfortable and spacious with modern amenities despite being below ground. Our window faced the parking lot and we a direct view of our car, which we had just happened to park in front of our assigned room, facing our window. It's conveniently walkable to downtown.

We booked for a room with bay view, however we didn’t get a room with any view instead just an ugly roof. They told that because the room with bay view is under construction. But we paid more money for room with bay view. If we know this is the case we will just choose a regular room with a lower price.

Would never stay here again. Our room was not ready at checking, had to wait an hour. Hotel said it was pet friendly. They charged us an extra fee for dog per night. The fee was more than the room so ended up being more than double what the booking price said. Ridiculous!

The Hotel Baker appears nicer online than it truly is. The Hotel’s paper thin walls leave you hearing nearly a pin drop in your room. The hotel claims to be pet friendly, however will charge you an outrageous fee of $35 per night. The highest pet fee I have ever come across. The rooms vary, with the first room we stayed in including water that was boiling hot, or ice cold. There was no happy medium. There is a restaurant in the hotel, however they have no room service and their online app is suspect as best. Inside the rooms you will find cracks in lampshades, pipes unhinged from the wall, and old hardwood floors, which appear to be from an old motel. The bedding is “scratchy” and feels like it’s been washed in bleach. To put the nail in the coffin of the Hotel Baker the staff are fairly rude, and don’t appear to enjoy working at the Hotel Baker, and hey who can blame them? While the Housekeeping staff is friendly, and the nicest people in the hotel, they do begin cleaning loudly at 7:00 a.m sharp. So you best be an early riser here.

Oddly many restaurants in Gaspe are closed Sunday’s, but the hotel is walking distance from many places. We had an issue with our car and needed a boost in the morning! The staff member who helped us out was Well versed in the process. ( sorry I did not get his name !) 5 star service !

In late September/early October, my wife and I spent two weeks in the St.Lawrence/Gaspe' area. We spent two nights in Gaspe' exploring Forillon and nearby sites. The hotel was ideally located. The room as quite spacious and quiet. The season was winding down, so I can't speak to how things might be in the busy season. We ate breakfast and dinner mostly in the hotel's restaurant. It was pretty busy during dinner. It has a sports bar feel then with locals seeming to make up most of the clientele. Staff were pretty busy but always courteous and attentive. It was helpful to have the on-site parking because there didn't seem to be many other alternatives.

The room was lovely - spacious, clean, and nicely appointed. It was a nice mix of old (antique) and modern. The check in process was easy and the clerk was friendly. I appreciated that English translations were readily available. We had breakfast at the restaurant and this is the only reason I am not giving the hotel a full 5 stars overall. The food was disappointing and the service lagged considerably (20 minutes to get our first glass of water). I suspect that they were busy or short staffed and doing the best that they could.

Magnifique hôtel. Chambre au goût du jour, propre et confortable. Nous avions pris vue l'eau mais la construction de la piscine cache presque totalement la vue. Par ailleurs, le restaurant TÊTU est un must!!!
