What guests think

Across recent reviews, travellers describe Vegreville Suites as a clean, good-value stay with spacious rooms, friendly staff, and a popular pool with waterslide, plus a breakfast many enjoy for its variety.

Rooms are generally modern and comfortable, though several guests found mattresses very firm and pillows too bulky, and some noticed noise from adjacent rooms or upper floors. Facilities are appreciated, but recurring downsides include hot tubs periodically out of service, a slow elevator, and occasional issues like weak shower pressure or HVAC quirks. While housekeeping is often praised, a few reviews cite lapses in common-area upkeep, and breakfast feedback sometimes mentions weak coffee or crowding. Expect a straightforward, family-friendly stay with good value.

Inside hotel was really clean, no problems in the room other than the sofa bed is super small!!! It’s a twin sofa. Hot tub was not working in tower 1 so had to walk outside to tower 2 to use the hot tub. Other than that the breakfast was great & I had no problems with staff or people.

For Vegreville Alberta it’s decent and what I expected. The room was clean and pretty nice. We enjoyed the gym and pool areas. The staff was nice and breakfast had good selection and was appreciated. The negative aspects were the shabby furnishings and stained carpets in the main hallways and foyer. Only one elevator for a busy place was mentioned by a few other people. As well pool hours should be open late as 10:00 was to early so loud kids right till close.

Property has two building two diffrent pools and exercise rooms, breakfest in the morning was excelent, however online i believe it says the coffee bar was 24/7 but it was only availble during the morning breakfest. rooms were nice and clean. I would recommend changing those pots and pans as they non stick material is deteriorating on them pretty badly. Pool towels were readily available at pool so no need to lug towels from room to pool area. Overall great stay reasonable pricing, and a very popular venue at the time i stayed.

What we liked: Convenient location, friendly staff, hassle-free check-in & check-out, clean and spacious room, hot tub and pool with waterslide, hot breakfast included. What we didn't like: Breakfast area got very busy and crowded. Everyone was constantly in everyone's way. They need to rearrange the appliances and food for better flow. They also have probably the slowest elevator I've ever been on. And our shower was screeching every time we turned on the hot water. I guess it motivated us to save water by taking short showers?

I normally stay at this hotel when I am in Vegreville for work so this has been the go to hotel for years. Was disappointed as this time one of the rooms I got showed signs of bed bugs. My colleague woke up with multiple bites and found a couple of bugs during the night. We notified the front staff on the departure and they only gave us a $10 discount 🙄. I hope the fumigate, but be sure to check for bugs before heading to bed. For us it was room 223.

Our stay was short thankfully. The room was dirty, and the locks on the door didn’t work so the hotel left our room unlocked without permission. Couldn’t figure out what stank so bad in our room until I opened the nightstand to find a bunch of garbage and snot rags. The pool heater was also not working so it was an ice bath.

The Front desk was very polite and checked me in pretty quick. Walked up to the room and noticed the bed sheets were not changed. Visible evidence or somebody else using the bedding. Called the front desk and they came up right away and changed the bedding and apologized for the inconvenience. The stay was comfortable and will stay here again in the near future. Thanks for the hospitality.

I stay at a lot of hotels for work over all this is absolutely the best I have stayed at in a long time. It was nice that the air conditioning was on throughout the hotel and not only in the rooms. The rooms were very comfortable and seemed to be clean, but other than clean towels and empty garbage cans that’s all the maid did. The breakfast was convenient and palatable. But like all hotels lately no cleaning staff to be found. Stains on the elevator doors and hard surfaces for the four days I was there. So no one is cleaning. Wednesday rug still in elevators on Saturday. Garbage bags stacked up around the ice machines. Dirty mattress's and box springs. If I was to make a suggestion it would be to hire more staff to clean. It would make people that are used to a certain standard feel like they could use the facilities and not get sick.

Liked the pool and breakfast. Did not like that rooms had no alarm clock and after asking for one the first night at the front desk, did not recieve one ? I stayed three nights. Vending and ice machines not working . I have stayed here before over the years and have see a definate decline in overall maintenance. Called front desk twice and noone answered ? That happened in the early evening and early morning ?

Often stay at this hotel and believe this may be a one off poor experience as normally we enjoy our stay. At check in the lady working with blonde hair was more concerned with messaging on her cell phone than in helping check us in. I felt like i was an inconvenience and was not acknowledged until i engaged. The room we were in was nice enough but the plumbing noises are ridiculous with high squeal pitches when water is running - so loud that the tv had to be turned up and when asleep and water ran we were awaken by the noises. This was room 206. Again normally staying here we have not experienced this in other rooms nor have we experienced the poor staff engagement. We will definitely stay here again unless this becomes trend then sadly we will have to find another one.

Our stay was great. We came into town as a band to perform at Vegreville Country Fair and somehow 2 of the rooms we booked for Sunday-Monday (on our part) instead of Saturday but Angelica at the front desk really helped us out when she politely told us that our booking was a day after we stayed there but she quickly moved us into the second building and the band all had a very long day of travel and performing that day so at 1:30am we really appreciated her help in that department. I wish I would have had time for a swim and breakfast in the morning but we had to run away early. Thanks again. Steve Jevne

The staff was super friendly and accommodating. There must of been a hockey tournament in town because the hotel was filled with hockey kids and their parents. These kids were sooo loud. Always yelling and screaming. At one point at 9:15 p.m. there were about 8 kids playing hockey in the hallway right outside my suite. I asked the kids to move and they move about 2 feet. Not knowing where these kids parents or chaperones were I called the front desk and the staff handled the problem. They also closed the fire doors to my suite hallway which helped alot. Thank you!!

Our truck broke down so it was a last minute booking, but we couldn’t have been happier! Service, amenities, and cleanliness were top notch. The continental breakfast was one of the best set ups I’ve ever eaten - with the waffle station having so many options, like a strawberry compote, whipped cream, syrup, caramel and chocolate drizzle! Hi, The waffle dough was to perfection and coffee was made stronger, so this was rectified from the last 2 stays. The turkey bacon, no one liked, it tastes like fake bacon, please don’t serve as it goes in the garbage. The fresh eggs were much better than liquid scrambled eggs! We find the bagels very dried out, please keep them bagged so they stay moist. The cookies and pastries good, but the muffins are of very poor quality, and they don’t fly off the tray. Our 2 day stay, food was replace on the first day but the second day, we had breakfast at 9 am and nothing was replaced, like strawberries for waffles, cookie tray, waffle mix.
