What guests think

At Beach Grove Motel, travellers consistently trade modern polish for budget-friendly convenience, with many appreciating its quiet, safe setting near the Tsawwassen ferries and beach while noting the property's age, uneven upkeep, and mixed cleanliness across rooms.

Rooms are spacious and often include kitchenettes, but decor is dated and maintenance varies, with reports of worn beds, broken fixtures, and occasional issues like missing shower curtains or unreliable heating, AC, TV, and Wi-Fi. Staff feedback skews positive, with many describing friendly, accommodating service, though a few guests experienced after-hours check-in hassles or disputes over charges. Expect a no-frills stopover suited to budget-minded travellers.

This a good motel and great staff. The only thing that could and should improve is disability access. I stayed in #10. The bathroom door was to narrow to get my walker into and the shower, with step-up was dangerous. I had quite a time trying to get into the tub to shower. Rails and a non slip step would have been extremely helpful

The main reason I picked the Beach Grove Motel was its proximity to the Swartz Bay ferry dock - about a 10 minute drive. My secondary reason for this location was the ability to park right outside of my door - I get SOOO tired of interior corridors and elevators... I was literally able to park two steps from my truck - not every room is so lucky, but close enough. My room was very large and roomy with a small kitchenette and living area with couch and chair - super comfortable. The oddity was in the bathroom - a LARGE jetted tub with a shower...and no shower curtain. There really wasn't a problem with water getting everywhere because of the size of the tub but it's a climb to get over into the tub and nothing to hang on to while making the trip. Otherwise the place was very clean and the cable television had plenty of choices for my overnight stay. There are plenty of nearby shopping and dining options, I would definitely stay here again.

The beds were horrible. Old and so uncomfortable. Felt like sleeping on a trampoline. The stairs going up to our room were rickety and not safe. No soundproofing at ALL. Heard everything from outside. Only good thing? Affordable if you're on a budget. And it was.clean, although very old and broken thibgs throughout.

Good location. It is old. Very hot water - burn level. Bathtub had no grip pad on bottom, so easy to slip and fall. The walkway on the second floor level had vinyl covering and soft spots (implying rotten wood underneath). The deck off the office had rotten boards with pieces missing and exposed nails - unsafe.

Stayed 1 night. Motel is dated but clean. We had 2nd level unit ( 14 stairs to climb)with a kitchen/dining room with appliances. No hair dryer nor alarm clock. Wall A/C unit worked satisfactorily. Quiet area of Delta so no much traffic noise. Located beside a golf club so not many neighbours. Would stay again.

I arrived at 7:30 pm and had a 8 am ferry booked so I only needed the room for 10 hours but I just couldn’t stay once I saw the mouse traps and all the black mold. The room I received should never have been rented out. From the mouse traps, black mold under the kitchen sink, the bathtub and shower were so dirty we’d already decided we wouldn’t touch those. ALL of the walls, doors etc were covered in dirt, food and other various disgusting things, there was a leak in the ceiling about 2 feet around, dead skeletal bees and other bugs on the window sills. I showed the pictures to the lady at the front desk and asked her if she would stay there and she didn’t answer. I highly recommend you protect your health and stay clear of this place. One star was too much.

Stayed to take granddaughter to the waterslides. The motel is really dated, very worn and dirty. Not much attention to cleaning at all. Felt and looked as though our room hadn't been cleaned before checking in and was worried if the sheets had even been changed before we got there. There were clean towels in the bathroom, but again it was apparent that it hadn't been cleaned much. Shower only, no tub. Wouldn't have taken a bath even if there was a tub. I am not a picky traveller and have stayed in some really old places. There's a difference between old and old and dirty. This place is gross. The more we looked around the room, the more filth we'd notice. Felt disgusting being in there. These people are doing the bare minimum and it shows. Originally booked for 2 nights, left after 1 night of trying to make the most of it and couldn't do another. Sucked up the room charge. Didn't even bother talking to them about it. If you're looking for a place to party and crash after a concert, this would be it.

Staff was nice. Room was clean enough. The bed was awful and uncomfortable, it squeaked with every movement. The covers on the bed were the old style, and should be updated to polyfill duvets. The bathroom was nice, there was a bit of mold in the grout cracks but nothing I wouldn't expect from a budget motel. The Jacuzzi, while older, worked fine and seated two people and was clean. I don't understand why there wasn't a shower curtain, the shower sprayed water on the floor without one, also, having a detachable showerhead would make it way easier to rinse out that big tub. I definitely think room 1 needs a new king mattress, new duvet covers and new pillows, and a showerhead upgrade. Eden textiles is very affordable to order from for pillows and linens, they should look them up. But the worst part was how loud the upstairs guests were the second night. They didn't go to bed until 11 and then were up at 4am banging around and stomping across the floor. We got no sleep. For the price I paid I would expect all guests to be aware of the silent time policy and respect it. These people did not. Next time I'll spend the extra money to stay somewhere more updated with a more comfortable bed, though I will miss that Jacuzzi.

Had room 1. Stayed overnight just because of a medical appt. Wanted to be close to the ferry. Room is very old and outdated but comfortable. Door to bathroom is a pocket door and kept coming off the track. Towels were super small and thin. The tub was massive and deep but difficult to shower in. This room had a fridge, sink, microwave and coffee maker. Cutlery and a few other dishes available. Plus couch and chair. Bed was alright. Decently comfortable. AC was old and worn out buttons so didn't know how to adjust. Room was too warm all night. Sweated. Overall 2 out of 5 is pretty accurate. Affordable for hotels but overpriced a little for what you get.

We went to check in at 3am since we drove all night after I got off work to catch an early ferry. And there was no one to check us in. I understand, if there was some kind of warning in bold when you reserve the place, but I couldn’t find any sort of hours of check- in ending anywhere. I even tried to call beforehand but no answer. I have always been able to show up at hotels at late hours to check in. So I figured they would make it very well known if it differed…. I regrettably am still having to pay for the room- and no one reached out about me not even making it. Based on the other reviews it seems I got lucky with this one.
