At Cape View Motel & Cottages, travelers highlight a quiet, scenic setting by Mavillette Beach with beautiful ocean views and sunsets, easy beach access, and consistently friendly, accommodating hosts who make stays relaxing and straightforward.
Rooms are simple and comfortable, frequently described as very clean, with some offering spacious layouts. Guests appreciate the on-site sauna, outdoor seating, and BBQs that make it easy to relax outdoors. Tradeoffs include no on-site restaurant or breakfast and limited nearby dining, along with older buildings and occasional layout quirks that can feel dated or less private. Expect a peaceful, beach-focused stay with warm service and basic comforts.

This is a lovely place. Though the facilities are older they are lovingly attended to. It is the cleanest place we have stayed. The beach is a short walk and the views are fantastic. The hosts are lovely and helpfully. I would definitely stay again.

I love that you can see the bay from your window. It was a good size rm. The managers were living there were really nice and helpful. They have picnic tables along with chairs in the back to sit and watch the water. Very quiet and peaceful there. It also had a sauna you use. The bay is within walking distance so you can go and swim.

Neat clean quiet and comfortable. Staff was great and worked with us as we were coming in late. Don’t know if there was Wi-Fi as was too tired to look. View and back sitting area overlooking beach and lighthouse.

It was close to the beach which we loved, but no food services on site and you have to drive to Yarmouth or Meteghan for restaurants. There is a microwave in the room, and a BBQ in back of you wish to BBQ but unclear if utensils are provided for BBQ. We also liked being able to walk out the back door to view the water and tables and chairs for sitting outside.

The property needs some TLC, (the buildings are aging and in need of an up date) The Provincial Park Beach, adjacent to the property is definitely worthy of a visit!!

This motel probably has one of the most beautiful settings in the area. Mavillette Beach is huge, relatively empty and protected, and the rooms at the Cape View have back doors so that you can walk right out to chairs and picnic tables overlooking the beach. The room also had a big picture window in the back that allowed me to watch the surfers catching some gentle waves. Great for a longer stay, and the new management couple were kind and very accommodating. A very quiet and serene place. I want to go back!

We only stayed one night during our road trip, but we truly wish we had stayed longer! The beach was just a short walk away, and the soothing sounds of the water made the whole experience incredibly calming and refreshing. The two-bedroom cottage was charming, cozy, and had everything we could’ve hoped for. A perfect little getaway — we’ll definitely be back for a longer stay next time!

Stayed at the hotel the night we arrived in NS after taking the ferry into Yarmouth. We only stayed 1 night but the place was great. Super cute room which was just renovated and the location was perfect. The beach is walkable as well and is definitely worth checking out (make sure to walk down to the cliffs to the south). Homemade banana bread for breakfast the next day and the manager was nice enough to give my son a few slices to go! Just a really nice experience all around and really nice staff.
