Skyline Hotel Detroit Airport, SureStay Collection by Best Western

What guests think

At Skyline Hotel Detroit Airport SureStay Collection By BW, travelers praise the convenient DTW location, frequent airport shuttle, and generally clean, comfortable rooms with good beds and blackout blinds, while noting active renovations and some dated or small common areas.

Service is often friendly and helpful, though several guests report rude or unresponsive front-desk interactions and frustrations with billing holds or room assignment issues. Facilities include a pool and bar, but the pool can be cold or partially closed, the gym is limited, and occasional water or power outages were reported during winter. Noise varies by room; some hear airport or hallway noise, and a few disliked the half-glass shower design or worn details, while many slept well. Overall, it suits short, airport-focused stays at a fair price.

That was nice close to the airport. It had a shuttle. Only thing was the pool was half closed on the outside part other than that everything was very nice.

Entrance, lobby, and main floor beautiful! Then you entered a very small and old elevator getting off on the 2nd floor hallways a little small and outdated my room was beautiful, the bed and bedding plush and very comfortable and the blackout blind amazing i didnt want to get out of bed. I will most certainly be staying again

So lucky to have found this hotel! Skyline has been operating less than a year while they renovate the property. Surprisingly there was very little noise and the finished area is very nice. The staff are helpful and friendly. The lobby is pleasant. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was strong with plenty of hot water and good quality products. Food in the restaurant was okay to excellent - the chicken Caesar wrap was the best I’ve ever had. And the airport shuttle runs every 30 minutes. Even in the middle of the night! I know where I’m staying next time I fly to DTW. Thanks Skyline!

My room had candy wrappers and empty water bottle, the cabinet door was open where you would hang your clothes there were tissues in the bathroom garbage I thought somebody was in there like I was in somebody else's room. So I went down to the front desk and she said oh that just must've been housekeeping because I don't have anybody assigned to that room. They were very busy and probably almost completely full and they were nice about it but like the candy was stuck to the table. I have photos if you need them.

Arrived about 3:30 am after a 7 hour flight delay. We were put in a room at the very farthest end of the hotel. The ice machine across from our room was making an extremely loud noise and leaking all over the floor. There was no way we could sleep with that horrible noise. Then our room keys didn’t work anyway. I left my husband there with our 5 suitcases, and I had to go all the way back to reception to get a new key or request a different room. After being told we were assigned that room due to availability, we were then given the option of moving, with our 5 suitcases, at 4am, to another floor. Finally we were given a room on the same floor as originally provided but not nearly as far away. The outside noise was loud with the traffic. The pillows were so incredibly thick and hard they were impossible to lay our heads on and the bed was like sleeping on a hard wooden church pew. The lobby was lovely, the front desk staff were pleasant and the shuttle drivers were fantastic.

Good, clean property! The staff were all very friendly and helpful... The only thing I didn't like was the bathroom. Hated the sliding door that didn't lock, and while the shower looked new and updated, the glass wasn't long enough on the side (no shower door)... So the floor would get soaking wet every time the shower was used.

Booked a very last minute room here after a cancelled flight and not being able to travel again until the following day. The room was comfortable and clean, and good value for money. The shuttle bus to/from the airport was also a great addition! My only negatives would be how loud the air conditioning unit was, and that having a room on the ground floor meant I was woken up by car headlights quite a lot (I didn’t notice the black out blind behind the main one until morning as it was already dark when I checked in!)

PROS - Hotel is adequately clean (I only saw the lobby and our booked room. - There is airport shuttle available. - Front desk staff was competent (but not cordial). CONS - Whoever booked us gave us the farthest room from the lobby (as in farthest) Hallway was dark and eerie, my son was creeped out. - Airport shuttle came like 35 minutes after we called the hotel to pick us up. Hotel is 10 min away from the airport. - Food available for late night visitors checking in are limited to almost none.

I booked two rooms, one for me and one for my teen daughters, on May 15th. My incidentals hold for each room was $100. I travel a LOT and my honest suggestion is that you should stay here ONLY if you want to speak to their management 4x for them to tell you the hold will be released in 3-10 days but you don't need your money back for 25 days....Because they have no mechanism for expediting your hold release other than telling their customers to "be patient". NONE of the hundreds of hotels that I have stayed at for business or pleasure have EVER taken this long. This is unacceptable to me and if you stay here then you'll have to decide if you think that this acceptable for you. HEY SKYLINE. CAN I PLEASE HAVE MY MONEY??? I promise that once I get it, you'll NEVER have answer my reviews or not return my calls again. Ever. *Today is 6/11/25. I STILL haven't gotten my money back OR a satisfactory response from mgmt.*

Getting through to an operator by phone to request shuttle pick up at DTW Mc Namara terminal took 1 hr and 4 attempts as the phone option was not being answered. Room was cleaned only once for a 4 night stay despite requesting a full service for sheets and towel change and vacuuming. The response from mgr was that the housekeeper was missing in action. However I did accept a free breakfast which was good, due to the lack of service. Access to a microwave and chilled water by the coffee shop was convenient. The pool was cold and there was no hot tub.

Night staff at this hotel should be avoided at all cost. They are very rude, unaccomadating, and left us stranded at the airport for 45 minutes waiting on a shuttle. The property is dark, dirty and unsafe. There are many options for hotels in this area. Its cheap but not cheap enough to warrant the hassle and treatment you receive from the night staff. I will admit that the daytime staff were much more accommodating and pleasant to work with.
