Hawthorn Extended Stay by Wyndham Bedford - Dallas

We were not made aware upon reserving the room that they were under construction. Every day. Early morning saws and beeping equipment outside the window. Staff was not friendly at all. I had to ask where the room was. The room was a new construction. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. There were no lamps in the room and no rod to hang clothes in the closet. There’s wires protruding above the bed where a light fixture should be. The doors don’t have a buffer so they slam. Hard. Which is extremely pleasant when trying to get rest. There was absolutely nothing in the kitchen. Not even paper towels. And the microwave is in Spanish. Literally. All the buttons were in Spanish. Took forever to figure it out. Would not recommend other than the fact that we would have slept comfortably if not for the construction.

The stay here waa short but I was not impressed they have no ice machine, no house keeping when I went thursday. The room had a funky smell and they only have one luggage carrier and they require a 100 dollar deposit that is not listed in hotels.com website and the money takes a few days to get back. My stay was ok but the hotel was mid.

DO NOT RECOMMEND especially with family. NO EXTRA PILLOWS BLANKETS- 2 towels only for 3 people was was told we have shortage 🙄 but you charge 300.00 for weekend. NOTHING IN KITCHEN TO COOK OR USE... which is why I chose this one with hungry toddler. Moved bed closer wall for toddler OMG THE CRAP MESS FILTH quickly Moved back. AC is filthy look like black mold. 1 LUGGAGE CARRIER for entire hotel on Sunday check out . Had to struggle with luggage personnel items for self & toddler to car. ACROSS PARKING LOT ... HORRIBLE experience even employees at desk never offered to help out the door. If I could have gotten my $ BACK I WOULD HAVE LEFT. BREAKFAST HAHAHA ONLY WAFFLE,BREAD & CEREAL. NO EGGS OR MEAT Again very disappointed

We had a problem with the reservation which the staff resolved. The room they put us in though was not fully functional. Pillows and towels were missing, some lamps were missing, light bulbs were missing from other lamps, and multiple outlets did not work. I chose the hotel because it has swimming pool but the swimming pool was under renovation and unavailable. Nothing about the renovation was noted on the website. The breakfast was extremely meager. I would not stay in this hotel ever again.

Coming in at 10pm to a locked hotel door and the phone to call the front desk not working was disappointing. We called the phone number on the website with no answer. Only got into the hotel lobby because someone was leaving. The lobby was under construction and filthy since they were sanding drywall. This hotel used to be an extended stay hotel/motel. The person who checked us in told us no breakfast available. Renovations are not to be finished until January 2025. The rooms have had makeover but still needing attention. The rooms have no hangers, no cover on ironing board, plastic cups are not wrapped, no hairdryer, and blood and glue in the shower. The original overhead light was larger than replacement and the paint needs to be touched up. Recommendation is not staying unit after renovations are complete. The give it a shot and make your own decisions for the future.

Where to start?? It’s under renovations, and not minor ones. The lobby was ripped up and down to the drywall. They were laying tile and we had to walk on it to get out. Looks like room renos on all floors so it’s noisy during the day. Also VERY dusty and dirty. We were told we had to ask to have our room cleaned daily, had to take out our own garbage and had to take our towels down to the front desk to have them changed. One of the staff was quite helpful - at least he tried. The others seemed indifferent to our questions. We were told they never did daily housekeeping or towel service - it’s always how it’s been. We booked based on services shown on the website - no cofeee, no breakfast, poor wifi and not even an offer of any refund or discount acknowledging the mess and lack of amenities. They said construction will be done by end of December. Based on how it looked when we were there, it’s highly unlikely. We regret staying at this hotel.

They were doing construction on the facility, hallway half finished with paint and plaster everywhere.

A lot of amenities are missing. They have a full kitchen but the pots, pans are available upon request.the outlets do not work. They don’t have blow dryer, no ice machine. There’s only 1 lamp, no ironing board, or iron. When we pull the sofa bed, there was nuts on the bed. The room is not sound proof so the occupants on top of our room is making steps noises. They’re breakfast do not have any bacon, egg or sausage. Just cereals, waffle and bread. The deposits is more than the cost of our room. This hotel was very disappointing and I will never come back again.

This property was being renovated. Construction supplies and wastes piled in hallways. our first room had no closet rod, no hangers, a microwave with the instructions in French. Request for hangers produced one wire hanger with cardboard trouser portion. There was no breakfast but the online listing list that as an amenity. Owners said they had only had the property for 6 months. I don't understand why they were open for business. Will never book througn Expedia again!

1st room had roaches everywhere and roach eggs and was dirty! 2nd room had roaches and shower and kitchen wasn’t clean. Talked to staff and they said they would “take care of us” and didn’t! Had a maid come clean the shower, not very well. She was supposed to clean kitchen as well but we had to call again to get someone else in there

Roaches all over the room. Asked for a new room, that gull of roaches too. Never compensated. Staff unwilling to help. Disgusted

I was placed in a room with a full blown roach infestation, like there is NO way they couldn’t have known they were in there. As soon as I turned the lights off they came out. I went to reach for my drink and seen two scatter turned in my light and three more scattered on the floor. Tried to be lofgjcal and just sprayed with the bleach spray I had but then I saw another crawling in the light next to the bed. I in turn had to move rooms at 2:30 am and when I got to my new room the two bags I had open in the old room EACH had a roach jump out of them😭😭😭 I continued to see pest thru out my entire stay. They need a full blown fumigation in there smh.

Roach infested

I’m writing to formally file a complaint regarding an extremely unsanitary and unacceptable experience at your hotel, and to request a full refund for our stay. Upon arrival, it was immediately clear that the hotel was not maintained to basic cleanliness standards. The hallways were visibly dirty, with accumulated hair and debris that appeared to have not been vacuumed in quite some time. The elevator floor was also filthy, which further added to our concern. As we approached our room, we noticed peeling paint on multiple doors. Once inside, the room itself was in an appalling state. There was visible hair and dirt throughout the space, including inside the drawers and along the bathroom floor, where we also found sunflower seed shells—clear indicators that the room had not been properly cleaned prior to our arrival. We arrived very late, & when we attempted to speak with someone at the front desk, no staff could be located. That night, we were horrified to wake up & find bugs crawling across the bed & on our bodies. The following morning, cockroaches were present across the floor of our room. Eventually, we were able to speak with a staff member who moved us to another room. Unfortunately, the second room also raised significant concerns. It emitted a strong, unpleasant odor—possibly mold—& the flooring was unstable and creaked loudly, with visible separation from the subfloor beneath. Once again, we were unable to find staff to address (to be continued) (we have video)

Bed bugs. I was eaten alive and I didn’t even sleep under the covers which should tell you it’s a pretty serious infestation.

We checked in and checked out as soon as possible. This place smells bad, it is dirty, bed bugs, stained sheets and towels. I showed Sammy the bed bugs and she acknowledged it was bad. They did give us back the 100 dollar deposit. I’m disappointed with whyndham hotels. I told Expedia to take this place off their list. Do not stay there. The reviews are true. I had to booked a different hotel and Expedia did give me my money back.

Room was not okay, very old and dirty

I have stayed here a few times and recently was last time we were in a room with bed bugs and roaches . I never saw this issue before and I didn’t even know what it was until I took my 5 year old to the doctor they said it is bed bugs . I showed the staff before we checked out but I thought maybe it could be spider or mosquito bites . She has bites all over I would have left sooner if I knew what was before doctor visit ! Will not return or recommend to anyone ! Spent entire day sanitizing and washing everything

Very dirty, Floors visibly gross, bathroom had baby roaches and was dirty, I mean very visible dirt and grime. One of those “ohh I ain’t sleeping tonight kind of hotels” Not recommended. Staff was nice “Breakfast” if you can call it that was LITERALLY bread, waffles (with NO syrup), Raisin Bran, and fruit loops…

People yelling in the hallways and management doing nothing about it

We needed a place to stay close to home since we had no water in our home due to home repairs. The room was spacious, had a full kitchen, mini dining area. But the sofa was outdated and not comfortable. The bed was even worse, not comfortable which means I got no sleep. But the saying is you get what you pay for. It was a temporary fix and it worked for what we needed.

This place is doing the bare minimum. It was fine for a stay by myself, but very bare bones. There were stains on the floor, towels, and bed. There were only a couple towels total in the bathroom. The kitchen doesn’t have any dishes or cooking tools- there was a coffee pot but no coffee. Very thin bedding and scratchy sheets. Only two small pillows. The AC did work well. Breakfast didn’t have many options at all. The elevator is a little rickety and scary. Gym only has a treadmill, elliptical, and bike- no dumbbells. There are some weird smells, I’d assume there is some mold. My shower had no hot water and both sinks were very inconsistent with temperature. I’d find somewhere else or bring a lot of your own stuff to use.

Parking seemed ok. The Hotel was the nosiest Ever hotel we ever stayed. People slamming doors all hours of the nights. Made compliant to front desk about the family above our room. Children jumping & moving furniture this went on through the all hours of the night. Seemed parents werent present or just didnt care about others in the hotel.needless to say we didnt get much sleep. Wont recommend this hotel to the over 55.

Clean, spacious and friendly staff.

Overall, it was a decent stay. I enjoyed having a full kitchen inside the room and the room was organized well. However, I was disappointed in a few things. The chair was hard to open and close, it appears that it is slightly broken (see attached pic) and the fire alarm was hanging from the ceiling. I'm sure it was operational, but I wouldn't want to find out the hard way.

Beds were very hard

I first stayed at this property in the early 2000s. Everything appears to be the same except fir an updated TV. The property is well kept. There is a kitchen with a stove , full size fridge but no pots or pans and no dishes . Bring your own if driving from home . This is not a criticism, but just a heads up to make sure you were not disappointed. Two thumbs up .

Staff was not friendly or informative. I never saw anyone cleaning, had to ask for toilet paper and towels, breakfast was just oatmeal packets, and they didn't have an ice machine.

The staff took my card on file and required a deposit in cash. It took way too long to get a remote for the tv. Staff is rude.

The check in process was timely. Apparently the credit card machine was not working and the clerk kept making me feel like it was my card being declined which it wasn’t. I called the bank right in front of him and then he told me that I would have to put $100 cash deposit And then I would get it back at checkout time at checkout. I went downstairs and handed the receptionist my room key, and she said thank you I said, ma’am I need my deposit back because I paid it in cash. She proceeded to ask me how much I paid and there were three other people in the lobby waiting as well . I told her and then she handed it to me right in front of other people that doesn’t make me feel safe.

The staff were helpful. It was walkable. They had enough parking. The room was very comfortable.

The service was excellent & I wish I remembered who was working the front desk during our stay, but she was fantastic. Her along with the housekeeping found a necklace we had left behind and let us know within 10 minutes of us leaving the property & we were able to come back and retrieve it Very thankful for their help during our stay and would come back!

When i arrived to check in they did not have the room i paud for. The clerk at the front trued to give me a smaller bed. I told him i want what i paid for being that a queen was cheaper. They tried to reimburse me but then put me in another guests room who had not arrived yet. Upon entering my room it smelled very musty and made my clean clothes smell as well. The room was not cleaned thoroughly floor was dirty and so was the shower. Not enough towels in bathroom. And a used toilet tissue was hung. Had to ask for more towels ajd toilet tissue. Front desk people did not have enough towels for my who stay as they were all given out to guests.

Well when I first got there was no one at the front desk. A young lady showed up. Nice, but I asked what time is breakfast start she said we have no breakfast. I said to her but you advertise breakfast. She just said sorry. I turned the corner to the elevator and BAM big time construction. Mess everywhere. I wanted to extend my stay and the young lady said I would have to come to the hotel to extend. If not at 11 all my belonging would be removed and placed outside the room and they are not responsible for what may happen to my belongings. I was floored. I told her that every hotel I've ever stayed at would extend and wait for to get off and return. This place SUCKED

The front desk was not manned most of the time.

The staff was great! The room was comfy and very nice. There was plenty of parking. Despite it being a very busy entertainment weekend. The hotel was quiet and not over crowded.

Staff were very welcoming and nice. Soha was amazing and made sure to take care of things. I didnt like one thing and that was how long the cleaning service took to finally do my room. I requested the changing of the bed sheets in the morning so i can come back and take a nap but unfortunately it wasnt done. I called again and was hoping to get it done quickly but no one did it until late at night when i came back from the Bachelor's party. I really need it to nap and couldnt due to that reason.

Great hotel, clean. Neighborhood was clean

Although the building is old, the property is in a good area. You can also tell that people live in this hotel. I wonder if that's why the hallways smelled sour. The room I got didn't smell that bad and it was nice and spacious because of the layout. You get what you pay for in the end.

Good location for visit & easy to get to off the freeway.

The people were great! Every employee I had interaction with was very pleasant and helpful. I did have an issue when I first got to the room (there was a little oil sheen on the desk and some (looked like soap) in the shower corner which the housekeeper (Jill) worked very good to make me feel welcome and worked on it to make sure I felt comfortable and totally understood where I was coming from. The location was convenient and I loved it. The construction on the roads (which they don't have control over was a bit rough but it was really good).

The absolute worst. Hotel under construction and I couldn’t sleep the entire time due to extremely noisy hotel guests. DO NOT stay here! Smelled so bad and was incredibly dirty. No transit or dining nearby either!

I loved the location, lots of restaurants within a 5 minute radius. I felt safe with my kids. Clean, quiet. Didnt use the pool, but it looked nice. I would stay here again.

The bar and grill next to it was not to bad. Lots of options to eat nearby.

The room and shower floors were filthy. I had to bag my house shoes for the trip home and then wash the soles once I arrived home. The "breakfast" was non-existent. Instant oatmeal and not even that on Saturday.

Property is old and under construction. A fair bit of noise during the day. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. We had a stovetop and a dishwasher but no pots, pans, silverware, or plates. We appreciated the full size fridge and microwave. The small things were missing...soap, plastic cups, ice bucket. There is one entrance to hotel and a long walk to the room. Breakfast consists of coffee and oatmeal packets. There is a mcdonald and starbucks nearby which was helpful. I would only stay again as a last resort.

No coffee in the room. Ok. Breakfast was dismal and out of coffee. Asked front desk and 20 min later and something resembling coffee appeared. Pruce was tight for so-so quick overnight. Will not stay again.

The breakfast only had options of waffles/yogurt/toast/bagels. All the bagels were stale and hard the waffle mix was out as well as the syrup. Not allowed to take breakfast to your room. Have to leave a $100 deposit in order to check in.

I don’t like to leave reviews but they asked when they probably shouldn’t have…so here goes, 1st - there was no ice available…even the cheapest dives offer an ice machine! And they have refrigerators in the room…how about an ice tray then…? Then the TV didn’t work…it indicated “no service available” and the clerk at the desk said she couldn’t help. The bed was seriously hard and uncomfortable and the fitted sheet corners came off both sides throughout the night. The breakfast should have been an embarrassment to them; the whole area was a mess-it looked like a bunch of 3 year olds got their own breakfast! I’m not sure they can get by any cheaper than the lame items they made available. Plain bread, two sugary cereals, apples the size of walnuts and two very messy waffle irons with some cheap syrup and there was no decaf coffee. All in all a very pathetic establishment! I’m so surprised that Wyndham associates their name with them. Truly a disappointing experience! For the prices they get for the rooms they can undoubtedly do better! Can you tell I’m not happy…

Parking was good and the hotel was clean. Don't count on breakfast even though it is advertised. Choices were dry toast, cereal and waffle - but no syrup or anything to drink. Rooms are basic: cooktop but no pots/pans, utensils, glasses or plates. But there is a dishwasher.

I have stayed at this location on a couple of occasions and decided to stay there again as we have always enjoyed staying there. This time we were given a hard time at check-in then we were given a room where the door wouldn't even open you had to throw your whole body into the door it took us 10 minutes to get in at first thinking the key wasn't working and then realizing it was the actual door. The room had a stench severely where we had to go to the store to buy room fresheners to make the room smell better so that my granddaughter wouldn't throw up. The first morning there wasn't much breakfast left and I was up there an hour before breakfast was to end nobody was refilling things or having things freshly out for people just waking up and coming down. This will be the last time that I stay at this hotel which is very sad because my grandchildren have always loved staying here.
