My visit with my three daughters, to the Comfort Inn Suites in Gananoque , Ontario, was totally ruined because our reserved room for special needs, on the ground floor , was given away just before we arrived. Our room was prepaid, and our needs were know upon reserving. We were given a room on the second floor , requiring climbing two flights of stairs, as there is no elevator. I am 93 years of age, and had made three inquiries prior to our arrival, to make sure our room would be available. before our arrival. I was told everything was fine. Upon arrival , our room had already been given away, and we were booked into another room on the second level. requiring me to use the stairs. I have severe Arthritis, and this activity caused a flare- up with pain, that ruined my holiday. We were extremely disappointed. Our room was clean , and the breakfast very good, but nothing could help with my flare-up , pain and discomfort, caused by the change of room. I complained at the time of our arrival, and again upon leaving, at the desk, but they could not explain how it happened that our room was not available as reserved, other than to say it was given to someone else, and they had no more rooms available on the first level for special needs. I decided that a confirmed reservation for a special room on the first level , meant nothing. I will not be returning to the Comfort Inn again. We were there overnight on Wed. Sept. 23, 2026.
