Property is beautiful and located in a great part of downtown. It is difficult to get into and out of the hotel parking lot. The valet service although well executed is expensive at $54/day. Overall fantastic experience and the on-site food choices were great.

We did not like this property, the foyer and reception area was terribly dark and the furnishings both in the common areas and the guest rooms were modern but of poor quality. There also was only one elevator operational to our wing of the hotel.

Check-in is at 3:00 pm. We were not given keys to our room until 4:30 pm. Additionally, There are two elevators to the rooms, one elevator was down the entire stay. Side notes: no bellman, no place to each breakfast, no service by the pool. pool is facing a street.

The hotel was lovely, very comfortable and friendly. Reception staff (especially Tess!) couldn’t have been more helpful. We enjoyed our cocktail and great selection of vegetarian small plates in the rooftop bar and sitting round the fire in the lobby. Unfortunately we arrived in an unexpected cold snap (-10C with windchill making it feel like-16C) so we left a day early to avoid driving in the freezing dark. Everyone was really helpful in facilitating that and ensuring we received the refund. Will definitely go back one day when it’s warmer and we can enjoy the rooftop bar outside! The only thing I would change is the cost of (valet) parking ($54 per night seems a lot and you can’t just go and get stuff from your car when you want).

The location of this hotel cannot be beat. It is walkable to downtown and South Congress shopping and dining. The hotel lobby is fun and beautifully decorated. The river location has kayak and paddle board options steps from hotel. The only issues were that the hotel pool was not heated(I mean at all, think 60 degrees). That was a HUGE disappointment and made us cut our trip short. Also the windows were dirty so having a water view was not a huge bonus when there was so much dust you could not take pictures through it.

Soooo - I really wanted to like this place but. . . . The common areas are all taken over by restaurant and coffee house space. The management doesn't offer a coffee table in the morning so you are stuck waiting for 30 minutes for a decent coffee. The pool isn't heated and useless in the.cold months.

Everything was gross- the sink was clogged with water the entire stay, there are stains everywhere on the carpet in the room, the shower leaked so bad it was draining into the carpet in the room which makes the room smell like mold. Tried to address these concerns and no one ever came up, wasn’t offered to change rooms. Trashes were never changed during the stay. The roof top bar was unavailable for guest use the entire time I was there. Just gross, stay away and go somewhere else.

The hotel is within walking distance of most things in Austin. It has a great coffee bar that is busy in the mornings. The room was spacious and clean- although the view was awful- rooftop with a/c units. The rest of the hotel could use a good clean- all the seating in the lobby/ coffee area and also at the pool area is very stained and tattered. The pool area was very dirty, with muddy footprints on the pool deck for duration of our stay. It is very open to public view from the bridge and walking trail. No staff on hand to ask for anything like clean towels. No umbrellas at reception for quick use if raining, and very few bikes available/working for guest use. Nice hotel, but I feel should be much better for the price they charge!

Front desk staff great. Gym great. Housecleaning missed cleaning my room (partially my fault as I was in the room for the first pass), but then for turndown service as a substitute, just replaced towels and that was all. Windows all need cleaning, especially glass elevator shaft. I don’t understand how hotels are okay with filthy windows.

I love the decor vibe and personnel. The only serious problem I had was with pool area cleanliness. It’s just so dirty. Straws in the pool. The filtration system in the pool is unable to handle the amount of guests. It was filthy. Empty trash and drink cups were not picked up all day from previous guests. I love the hotel and got it for the pool but really the pool needs more cleaning.

Good location but the hotel was not to the standard we expected. The first impression was the entryway which had leaves everywhere. Inside the hallways smelled musty and it was difficult to see out the room windows due to the dust on the outside. The gym was dark and cavelike. Overall the property felt dated and unclean.

Hotel is interesting as the pool and hotel staff are great however the whole place smells like wet cement. They have a real problem as all hallway/elevator/room rugs need to be replaced. There is no air vents in bathroom so moldy smell throughout the hotel. If you're a allergy person like me, this is a real problem.

Very nice boutique hotel, it’s located in a prime location in downtown Austin right off the South Congress bridge. Aside from the great ambience, there are good dining options within the hotel which adds a-lot of convenience. The room and bathroom were very well put together, plus both felt very clean. My only knock is that the room felt a little bare without a desk or furniture to set baggage on. Taking everything inti account, I would definitely consider staying here again and recommend it to others.

The hotel is dated but clean. We had Room 302 which was the worst location, streetside at a busy red light. The noise was unbearable! The location is the very last room to get hot water. We had to let the water run for at least 10 minutes (very wasteful). The shower leaked onto the entire bathroom floor, creating a slip hazard. The beds are tooo low, basically on the floor (too hard for mature adults to get up and out).

Make sure you don’t get a lower floor room on the front side of the hotel unless you have really good earplugs because this hotel, while renovated , must not have update the older windows. We were on the third floor and it was impossible to fall asleep until after 2 due to street car noise. Apparently you have to pay more for a room in a quiet area per the front desk Common space for our event was very nice. Rooms nothing special for the price. Super low uncomfortable furniture.

Air condition was out in our room and had to eventually be moved the next day to a new room just for it to not work in that room either. All they did was comp our parking for one night. After spending about $700 for two nights with no AC we got $54 back for parking on one night. Not even both. Staff was also pretty unpleasant.

Very cool and stylish hotel with several great restaurants in it. Perfect location. Only minor issues were that the beds look super aesthetic on low platforms but it’s a pain to get in and out of such a low bed, almost on the floor. Fridge is only for the minibar stuff.

Water pressure and temperature in the shower was amazing! Best showers ever. But the bed was uncomfortable, walls paper thin, no storage for clothing outside of half a closet, tiny mini fridge. Now, the rooms were lacking but the pool was decent, restaurants, coffee shop, location and overall atmosphere was amazing. This hotel is great for young people with young backs that don’t need to sleep, if you’re past 30 find a hotel with better rooms.

The restaurants and ambiance were great, but the beds were uncomfortable and the lighting in the rooms is AWFUL… so awful that there is a note in the bathroom saying you can call for a separate light-up mirror if you need better lighting. So they know it’s bad and aren’t changing it.

Only stayed 1 night and wish I had more. As an Expedia VIP member, I receieved complimentary room upgrade and late check out. The room was spacious and comfortable. Tge pool area was great and you could even order food and drinks right from the pool area. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Pros: The hotel lobby and pool are nice. The room was clean and was cleaned/maintained every day which we appreciated. It was in a great area of downtown Austin. Cons: For the price, we expected the rooms to be a lot nicer than they were. We paid for a city view, but got a back corner with no real view. The showers have no door so water gets everywhere and floods the bathroom floor. The A/C in our room broke the first night. When we told the front desk, maintenance came fairly quickly, but couldn’t figure out the issue and even when I called the front desk for an update, we still weren’t given an update on if we could leave or if we needed to change rooms, so we lost half our day waiting until we finally just left and told them to call us if we needed to change rooms. In my opinion, if something as large of an inconvenience such as no a/c on a hot and humid day happens to my guest, I’d comp the room for a day, send a bottle of wine, etc for the inconvenience. We didn’t even get an apology. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again. Just wish things would’ve been handled a bit better by the front desk staff.

all three times we approached the front desk there were multiple staff members - yet no one acknowledged us. a few minutes in someone would say be right with you. if the staff has other more improbably duties than attending to guests perhaps they need to be in an office. check in, check out, we were ignored and felt like we were bothering or disrupting them

I had an incredible stay at this property. They. truly went above and beyond. When I checked in Kirstee had an incredible way of greeting me and making me feel right at home! She was super nice, and had the best customer service skills I've ever experienced in Austin. She was the true honest reason I extended my stay. Bailey was so nice throughout the night, and was constantly asking me how my family (my grandmother is sick) and how I was, she made the hotel feel like a true home. I was shocked at how nice Jelmer was when I needed to switch rooms (they upgraded me), he came in and helped me get to my other room right in time before my work meeting. I TRULY cannot say anything negative about this hotel experience. It was fabulous, cozy, and amazing. I will ALWAYS stay here when I come to visit family. Thank you for making me feel like family!

Room upgrade: When the room was booked, we called immediately to request a room upgrade and the staff informed me that it will be done upon check-in. The day of check-in arrived early, but the staff said they didn't have upgraded rooms. When looking at the hotel website and hotels.com there were rooms available. Even when offered to pay the difference the staff said 'no upgrades available.' I contacted hotels.com who were amazingly helpful in getting us an upgrade. THEN the staff called saying 'OH we have an upgraded room for you.' So this was a HUGE lie, already off to a bad start. SERVICE: When you see a lady struggling to push a luggage cart while maintaining her dog's leash, she needs help. And she didn't receive it from staff. Not helpful staff. But people notice when the staff is joking around and not taking their job seriously. Room was clean, provided plenty of bathroom supplies and toiletries. Room also had snack items, but no label for how much they were. Could be mistaken for complimentary. Requesting a room cleaning took forever! We left to eat breakfast, walked our dog, went to South Congress and returned mid afternoon and was still not ready to clean. Remote for TV did not work properly.

Conveniently located near South Congress shopping as well as 6th Street music scene. Hotel was welcoming and never felt crowded. Executive Suite is very spacious with sitting area well removed and hidden from bed. P6 bar offered great views of the Lady Bird Lake and the “bat bridge”

Location 10/10: in walking distance to SoCo, 6th street, Ann Butler trail, Rainey street, and the Capitol . Many good restaurants surrounding Facility is pretty outdated. Clean but outdated.

The Line never disappoints. Such a great location with nicely appointed rooms and the staff is terrific. We had dinner at Arlo which was so delicious and breakfast at Veracruz which was also amazing. We look forward to doing a staycation here again in the near future.

Excellent hotel in downtown Austin. Very close to many great eating and shopping options. The pool is a highlight and we spent most of the days there. The rooms are lovely, with comfortable beds, nice views, and a good sized bathroom. There are a few food and drink options in the hotel. The actual food and drinks we had from each place were great, Alfred, Arlo Grey, P6 and Vera Cruz. The service from the three restaurants (not Alfred the coffee shop) on the other hand was abysmal. Unfriendly, avoiding eye contact, zero sense of urgency or attentiveness, rolling eyes when you asked for a straw or napkin. Drop and go then the tip prompt comes and the expectation is 22%? It was disappointing to say the least. There was one server in Arlo Grey who ran our food who was the opposite of those things and represented what service should be. But in general the staff at the restaurants were disappointing. The hotel staff at the front desk were always great though. Made an effort to make you feel like a welcomed guest. I will definitely come back to the hotel but might avoid the restaurants. I didn’t want the rating of the hotel to be impacted by the restaurants so I’ve kept at a 5.

This a a great property for views of city or Lady Bird Lake. We love seeing the bats at sunset. Amenities were top notch and the staff service was very good. We ate at P6 and ordered room service, all excellent.

The Line was great. They were very accommodating with all of our requests. The restaurant was good, and the Migas tacos at the Veracruz mexican restaurant downstairs are a must. Would def stay here again!

I love The Line hotel. I enjoy the breakfast tacos at the Mexican restaurant in lobby and I had amazing pasta at the fine dining restaurant in the evening . The coffee shop Alfred’s is excellent. I enjoyed the pool at sundown and I love the view of the river . The beds are comfortable; staff friendly and helpful, and it’s a great atmosphere and crowd. The parking situation is the only downfall as valet parking is pretty expensive but really the best and only option unless you park on the street. That being said I drove a couple blocks to a public parking garage and the 24 hour parking was only $10 less at $45 a day. I think the line was $55 or $58 a day (something close to that). All that being said if you add that on to the cost of the hotel per night I still think you are getting your moneys worth, and the value per night is well met and worth the cost per night. I love this hotel .
