Prestige Aberdeen Lodge Kamloops

What guests think

At Prestige Aberdeen Lodge Kamloops, travellers frequently commend the friendly staff and generally clean, spacious rooms, while noting an older, worn property with maintenance inconsistencies and a basic continental breakfast; pool access is provided at the sister property nearby.

Rooms are often large and comfortable, but several reviews mention dated decor, peeling wallpaper, noisy or weak A/C, televisions that fail to work, and spotty Wi‑Fi on some floors. Cleanliness is praised frequently, though recurring lapses include missed vacuuming, leftover debris, and toiletries not replenished; housekeeping service during multi‑night stays varies. The location near the highway, mall, and many restaurants is convenient, the attached Moon Wok Chinese restaurant draws positive comments, and parking can feel limited at times. Expect a straightforward, value‑minded stay.

They don't have a pool and they say that the pool is being repaired but there actually is no pool! There is a pool with waterslide at their sister hotel across the parking lot that you can use.

Selected this hotel because it was supposed to have a pool, however the pool is located inside the sister hotel across the parking lot, so that's not very fun or convenient. The rooms are a bit run down, peeling wall paper and bathrooms that haven't seen a renovation this side of the Y2K panic. Of the 5 hotels we stayed at on our weeklong trip this one had the worst bed and pillows by far, but at least the AC worked ok and the bathroom was large and comfortable.

We stayed for an overnight and were disappointed with the rooms overall cleanliness. There was food from previous occupants that didn't get vacuumed up (it was under the bedskirt). The couch had some questionable staining on it - I actually laid a towel on it and avoided sitting on it. The bed was clean. The bathroom was subpar. The "breakfast" was really dissapointing. It seems like "continental breakfast" means something different at every hotel. This one had nothing cooked or warm. It was a choice of breads, yogurt, or cereal, and some hard boiled eggs. Would spend the extra and go to the Prestige sister hotel across the parking lot.

This is a solid budget friendly stay and I could see the work the Prestige team is putting in to lift the property. However, some basic housekeeping issues reduced the quality of the stay. The room had not been vacuumed under the beds. There was left over popcorn crushed at the edge of one of the beds clearly visible on checkin. I reported this to the front desk but it was not addressed even when the room was made up the following day. The large bottle toiletries in the shower are only environmentally responsible if they can be used. Our shower gel was empty during my shower and again was not filled during the daily service. We then had to use the little soap bars for a late shower that night. Still a lot of work to do to get the property up to the Prestige standard but it has potential. Beds were comfy and it was quiet. Breakfast is basic and the eating area is cramped. It could do with a bit more variety and some different tables to better fit the space.

The room was spacious. However, it was very run down. The bed's were extremely hard and not comfortable. The sheets were stained. The amount of dust in the room set my sons allergies off and he couldn't stop sneezing all night. It smelt like it was a room that previously allowed smoking in it. The bedroom curtain didn't close and there were bright lights shinning into the room all night. There were holes in the walls. Very old and run down. We picked this hotel because Prestige's are normally standardized with quality and comfort. This was far from that. Very disappointed with this hotel.

Probably the most unfriendly and awkward receptionist ever. Messed us around for 15 minutes on check in, keys only worked one day at a time. Then they told us to clear our room at 9am on the final day for maintenance. The room itself was absolutely fine, but until they change the staff, I'd avoid this place.

Breakfast was a nice bonus too: bagels & cream cheese, toast and cinnamon buns, cereal, yogurt, apples and banana.
