What guests think

Across recent reviews, Best Western Plus Moncton is frequently praised for comfortable rooms, a well managed complimentary breakfast, and a convenient location near highways, shopping, and attractions, making it an easy stop for travellers.

Multiple guests reported the pool being closed or uncomfortably cold, and several facilities such as gym machines, guest laundry, and in room safes needed maintenance. Cleanliness is inconsistent: while many found rooms very clean, others cited dust, hair or stains, dirty carpets, mold, and, in a few cases, pests. Service also varies, with plenty of kind, helpful staff noted but recurring reports of unhelpful or argumentative front desk interactions, reservation/check in problems, and slow responses to requests. Rooms feel comfortable yet somewhat dated or small for some, with noisy HVAC, occasional Wi Fi issues, and basic TVs. Overall, expect a convenient, value focused stay with variable upkeep.

The staff are wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. My only disappointment was the pool was closed for renovations ( found out when we arrived) and the cleanliness could have been a little better. I.e a build up of dust /hair in the corners of the bathroom floor and a large stain going down the side of the bed onto the carpet. Other than that the bedding/towels and the rest of the room over all appeared clean.!

I would not recommend this hotel. The safe in our room did not work. When we told the front desk they replied that most of the safes don’t work and the owners do not want to fix them. We stayed on the 3rd floor and the WiFi did not work. I had to go into the stairwell and down to the second floor to get a signal. We asked the front desk for extra towels and were told “the towels are all in the dryer so it will be a long time. “ The hotel is clean but outdated and honestly pretty dark and dingy. No one at the front desk says hello or talks to the guests when you come in and out. Shoutout to the ladies serving the breakfast. They are lovely and work very hard.

Brought a team to stay at this hotel. Between the mice, stained walls(appeared to be blood), hair in bed, smelly duvets and drains that wouldn’t drain it proved to be a pretty terrible stay. A refund was not even offered to the man and his wife who found 2 mice in there room. Won’t be staying again.

The room was not well cleaned. Toilet paper to be changed right when we came in, trash not emptied, a half emptied water bottle still in a drawer. There was no bathtub plug to give a bath to our kids and they did not manage to find anything even after we mentioned it. The service at the breakfast, on the other hand, was friendly. The beds were also comfortable.

Went with a hockey team. One room had two mice, another room had balls of hair all through the bed, another room the tub wouldn’t drain because of all the hair in the drain, blood splattered on one of the room’s walls. Also everyone had cold showers, and a lot of the deadbolts on the doors wouldn’t lock. Will never consider staying there again

Pros: -some staff were kind and helpful, although the majority were not -the one staff member doing the breakfast was great -location is good -free parking -bed was comfy Cons: -dark hallways, dark rooms -rooms need updating/fixing. the couch in my room was pathetic. the leather (pleather?) was peeling so bad and there was a cheap cover over it that didn’t stay on. The wood furniture was scratched and banged up. I can understand this couch in someone’s garage or basement, and I understand it still “works”… but my goodness. Not in a hotel room. -no change rooms in pool, no towels in pool. what a pain when taking two young kids to a pool area -cleanliness was minimal, at best. for example in our room the areas under the furniture, the walls, and switches/outlets were filthy. The curtains were stained. Just a lot of inattention to real cleanliness -some of the lamps didn’t work -first world problems, but awful tvs. Glad I took my fire stick lol. Overall nothing was incredibly awful, just a lot of small annoyances and things that turned me off. I don’t recommend staying here and I won’t be back.

The staff was friendly and the hotel was clean, but we had a room very close to the front desk and right beside the elevator. The elevator motor was noisy and annoying to hear the entire stay and, the room was very small compared to other hotels we've stayed at, and the pool was nothing special. I would still stay here again, but would probably request a different room.

Only reason I’m giving a 2 is because we atleast had one helpful staff other wise woulda been a 1 . When we checked in the girl sitting at the desk was unfriendly . We got our keys went to our room and it wasn’t the one we picked we went back down and the girl argued with us oh well it’s prepaid you get what you get . Unless we provided proof of pictures of the room we booked . We finally found the room option we choose that matched the room name I booked went back down and she still argued with us than argued with me that I didn’t book through Expedia even though I had proof and showed emails. Clearly I did or I wouldn’t have been able to check in …. Finally another staff from in back overheard and came out to help get it sorted until we got the room we wanted and Booked but the other front desk Girl argued with that staff in front of us and other guests in the lobby that it’s wrong and they can’t do that even though the girl was explaining to them it’s okay and that she wasn’t looking in correct places . All during this time the staff at the front desk would continue to stare at us giving dirty looks . If I didn’t already pay 256 dollars I woulda grabbed my bags and left .

Hotel was good. The customer service needs to be improved. I booked two - two queen bed rooms. It wasn’t showing that on their end, but showing exactly what I booked in Expedia. They told me I would have to call Expedia instead of them taking it upon themselves to figure things out. We had to suggest possible solutions, whereas I feel that they should have. Good customer service is SO important. People are on vacation and shouldn’t have to worry about checking in.

While the room was fine, and livable, it is absolutely not what we expected for over 500$ for two nights in an “upgraded” room booked a month in advance. We killed 4 large spiders and there were multiple flies in the room as well as the room had an odour of marijuana when we arrived. We had a door to leave the building from our suite, while a nice feature was covered in scuff marks and dirt and you had to slam it hard to make sure it locked. The air conditioner in the bedroom had mold clearly present and lastly the internet was so slow we ended up using data hot spots on our phones to access internet. The area also does not seem the safest, lots of boarded up windows and sirens at night.
